Participantsophy-says on tumblr has been writing some seriously wonderful responses to questions about Neal/SF/CS recently. Here’s her take on why some people hate Neal, and it’s so seriously spot on!

Participant(Just got back from Holy Thursday Mass, and the thought that ‘dead is dead…except when it isn’t’ popped into my mind afterwards as pertains to Swanfire
I was thinking yesterday how it’s a curious coincidence (or not) that the ep that’s airing on Easter Sunday of all days will involve being in contact with someone who is dead. [spoier]And considering BTS pics of Marian, and knowing they wanted Jamie Dornan, it seems that it’s gonna be a continuing theme once they kick it off at Easter.[/spoiler] In my previous post, I mentioned how the SwanFireFamily is like the love, belief and hope. In a way, they’re like the holy trinity of this show, (and I don’t think it’s a crazy leap to consider them as such, considering A&E labeled Emma THE SAVIOUR, which has blatant religious connotations). If they’re making this show seem hopeless and dark, and they’re kicking off this idea of being able to reach out to the dead and bring them back in a way, I can’t help but think that may bode well for how this story arc will conclude, come the finale.
…as well as ‘it’s always darkest before dawn’ (as sung by Florence and the Machine.)
Henry said something similar back in S1. Things don’t get much darker than the truest believer not believing and the hope being dead. Maybe it’s just my Good Friday mindset talking, but the current state of the show does feel like a variation on the Easter theme. And the Easter story had a happy ending, even though things seemed COMPLETELY hopeless.

ParticipantI just dunno how they’d bring Will over in the finale, or even bring him in full time for S4, without contradicting their ending for WL.
The t-word of WL started with the start of S2 of the main show. So the storyline in WL was happening when S2 events were happening. At the end of WL, Will was back with Ana, they went to Fictional Victorian England for the Cylice wedding, then they went back to WL. Then we got a flashforward of Cylice with their young daughter and Alice was telling her about the White King and Queen and it was implied that they were Will and Ana. So during the time of the end of S3 and into S4, Will should be King-ing it up in WL with his TL Ana.
I could see both Will and Ana being guest stars if Jafar is the S4 villain. But Will crossing over solo on a permanent basis doesn’t compute with the WL ending.

Participantand not of GA either, what is that?
General audience. The vast majority of the audience for this particular show who just tune in once a week for some simple fairytale escapism probably wouldn’t be up for something this twisty and complicated. They’ve gotta keep the story simple enough for the casual viewer to be able to follow without getting a headache.

ParticipantI agree with RG and the others who say that the characters are acting OCC, so suspicious to me. It seems so contrived, the story lines, the interactions of the main characters, especially the release of the recent spoiler pics for 3×17.
It’s almost like Neal’s death was the kicking off point for EVERYONE to act OOC and the show really went off the rails into hopeless and depressing territory. It’s almost like they actually killed the show’s hope. In that interview that Ranisha posted the quote from a couple pages back, MRJ said that Neal was an eternal optimist, and I’ve always loved that quote because it’s so true, because he’s been kicked down so many times, but he’s still hanging in there and still has a good heart, despite it all.
Emma’s the essence of true love.
Henry has the heart of the truest believer.
Neal is the eternal hope.
THEY ARE A POWERFUL FAIRYTALE FAMILY.Emma is having her power tested as she learns how to use it, and her power will ultimately play a vital role in their victory.
Henry is having his belief tested due to having no memories, so we wonder how and when he’ll believe again, but we’re certain that he will.
Neal had his hope tested when he had no hope of there being another way apart from the Key, and that downfall and his death seemingly signalled the death of hope across the board.
If Emma and Henry are gonna pull through, then why not also Neal? Love, belief and hope seems like 3 forces that need to exist together in order for everyone to truly overcome the darkness that Zelena has brought to their lives.
Agreed that those tweets sounded final, particularly the RC one. But still, the same set of other facts stands, so they have until 322 before the fat lady sings (for me.) Interestingly, roomie read those tweets and shrugged, she said it’s nothing different than the rest of it and does not change her opinion.
Got room for me in that tent?

ParticipantI thought she already HAD his brain due to having the dagger. How exactly is she going to “pluck” it out of him? Or don’t I want to know?

ParticipantHmm… I’m thinking of turning my last post into a larger meta. Would anyone be offended if I took some of your comments as further inspiration to expand upon?
No worries here, if you wanna use anything I’ve mentioned, go for it. 🙂

ParticipantI think we’re gonna see the Eva/Leo wedding in this ep. That dress looks like a wedding dress to me, and those big towers of white flowers look like wedding decorations.
It is actually the same dress she wears in The Miller’s Daughter – when Cora shows the court she can spin straw into gold.
Saw a tumblr post earlier that had a BTS pic from Miller’s Daughter of Eva in that dress standing next to Xavier who was sitting on his throne. I couldn’t remember even seeing Eva in that scene, but checking screencaps, she WAS standing there, with Henry on the opposite side of the throne, (which does sorta make it seem like maybe Eva was the favoured choice for his bride until Cora spun gold and knocked Eva out of the running). Seems odd that they’re re-using the dress, and having Eva wear it to a totally separate event as well.

Participanttextbookone, I was gonna quote pretty much every paragraph in your post and type my own agreeable rants, but instead I’ll just say YES TO ALL OF THAT!!
