So what if what she needed from the other three was not courage, brains and Heart. but for them to be without it? meaning she needs Rumple brainless, Charming David courageless, Regina (well just not to exist) and Emma powerless. This she needs in order for the Alternate Reality to Work, so that neither of them can undoo it ones it is done.
I think she actually needs those three ingredients from the others, and the thing with Emma is purely that she wants Emma powerless because she’d be able to undo what Zelena wants to do. They established in 317 that Emma can do things that others can’t. Regina told Emma that mirror magic doesn’t work between worlds, but Emma could do it. So I think all bets are off and Emma can do just about ANYTHING with her magic, including just snapping her fingers and Zelena’s curse would be undone, so that’s why Zelena needs her powerless.

But I think Zelena’s curse WILL work, because i’ve just been thinking of what she’s going as a variation in technique on what Jafar and Amara did. Zelena needs courage, a brain and a heart. Cyrus (and Will) had courage/bravado, his older brother seemed to be a thinker, and his younger brother seemed to be a sweetheart. Same 3 ingredients, just in different vessels to the ones Zelena is collecting. On WL it just so happened that the 3 ingredients existed in the form of Amara’s sons, and her purpose was to be able to reunite her family, so she could conveniently reunite them and use their reunion as a way to cast the spell to free them because she had courage, brain and heart from each of them.

Yep, agreed. If Zelena could pose as a mermaid who just came out of the water, regular water probably has no effect. But they’ve gone to the trouble of establishing that there’s a unique and powerful type of water over on the sister show. Would be a nice way to tie the two shows together.
It would feel bizarre and like a big chunk of their take on the story is just wrong if it’s NOT water that defeats her IMO. It’s one of the MAJOR characteristics of her character.
I hope that kiss IS just him trying to get her off guard so he can get the dagger, because if they’re going the sexual manipulation route again, just, URGH WHY, considering they still get crap for the Regina/Graham thing. I’ll still find it intolerable if he IS just playing her, because why must they do that to Rumbelle, but at least there would be a reason for it as opposed to it just being gratuitous. Zelena does look a bit like “Next time you foolishly try to take this from me, I’ll gut you with it!” in that one pic.
Dunno what to make of the jewels in the flashback. Looks like Leo and Eva’s wedding day, so maybe Cora’s just playing up to Leo to try and piss Eva off for kicks and giggles? Props to costuming and hair departments for making Rose look legit like Barbara’s version of the character.
Oh. So like two different stages in Cora’s life
1) How she met/got pregnant/lost Zelena and Zelena’s father
2) Something to do with Leo and Eva?
That’s what I’m trying to get at, yup. They could show how PeasantCora gave Zelena away, and then contrast that by showing RoyalCora with pampered baby Regina. Maybe Cora gets the job to represent the family at Eva and Leo’s wedding, and Xavier sends her in particular because he’s an ass who knows how much Cora hates Eva and he wants Cora to be miserable.
We don’t know for sure, but my guess is it’ll be after Miller’s Daughter, and we may see baby Regina again.
But isn’t Zelena the eldest? Shouldn’t it be BEFORE TMD?
We’ll get PregnantPeasantCora, but I expect we’ll also get RoyalCora, which will be the scenes involving Eva and Leo.
Wouldn’t REGINA, who has very little tolerance for Hook after he left her to be tortured by Greg, voice more complaints? If I were Regina I’d be up in arms over the way Emma is willfully turning a blind eye towards the kind of man she allows to associate with THEIR son.
Saw a post on tumblr before about the distasteful look Regina had and how she suggested the check the mirror to validate his story. She doesn’t trust him, and it just makes me believe even more that Regina and Emma were scheming right before Hook knocked on the door, and Emma’s scamming him, playing nice so he’ll spill what he knows.

This takes place before Millers Daughter? O.o I thought it was after Millers daughter but before she was fully married. Like when she had left Rumpel and was just engaged to prince henry

I don’t think Eva was already married to Leo in Miller’s Daughter. I got the impression she was visiting them because she was one of the prospective brides for Henry.
I honestly think that they need to stop killing every villain they ever get. Let some of them live and have the opportunity for them to reappear at a later date.
Jafar. 😉 Though I suppose he’ll probably end up dead after he inevitably ends up on the main show. 😛 I used to want them to keep Zelena around into next season, but now I just want to see her melted ASAP.
