ParticipantBut as much as those mourning need a place to do so, others need a place to talk and discuss things from their point of views as well. And some of what is said by them will be not liked by others, but what they are posting is just how they feel.
That’s all well and good, and as long as people discuss the topic in the proper places, that’s fine, go for it. But there HAVE been comments that SFers and Neal fans should get over it. RG has had it said that she should get over the death of her own father. THAT is crossing the line. Leave those of us who are upset and angry to be upset and angry. It’s possible to discuss an opposing viewpoint (in the appropriate threads) without sinking to implying that the people who are upset and angry should just grow up and accept it. And I’m not saying that all, or even the majority have implied that, but the fact is that SOME have, which just exacerbates the situation and makes people who are already upset feel more sensitive about the topic and more defensive, as opposed to being conducive to productive discussion of the topic.

ParticipantI watch for more reasons than shipping. And when I give up a show it’s for non-shipping reasons. When the storyline becomes so subpar or changes from what I fell in love with I do quit watching. I will be watching but skeptical about the rest of the season.
This! I’ll still be watching the rest of S3. Depending on how that turns out, I may or may not come back for S4. I currently feel like they’ve done an injustice to one of the core messages of the show, it’s no longer about having hope of second chances and happy endings IMO. Whether or not they can salvage that theme is what will dictate if I continue with the show. I can’t get the same enjoyment out of it if I no longer think the moral of the story can be trusted.

ParticipantLOL Must have!
FWIW, they said that after the finale it would be blatantly obvious why they’d wanted to have Jamie Dornan on again, and now supposed-to-be-dead Marian is wandering around on set with everyone else.

ParticipantOK, I just tried posting a thing and it didn’t post? Maybe it freaked out because I tried putting a link inside a spoiler tag? Anyway, filming spoilers at this link: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/topic/who-is-filming-now-season-3-part-5/page/38/#post-258614
Mentioning it here because if that’s Marian, she’s meant to be dead. And they said that after the finale it’ll be blatantly obvious to everyone why they’d wanted Jamie Dornan to reappear, and his character and Marian have in common that they’re meant to be dead, which they also have in common with Neal. Shenanigans!

ParticipantIs no-one going to point out Christie Laing (Maid Marian) walking past in the background?
See my post right before yours. 😉 Glad someone else thinks it’s her as well.

Who is this woman (on the right)?

At first glance I had to do a double take because I thought she looked like Christie Laing, who played Marian? Wasn’t she meant to be coming back? Did we have a specific ep for that? Or am I imagining things and it’s someone else entirely? Her face just looks familiar is all. Marian’s costume the last time we saw her DID include a maroon cape, though it looks like we never saw the clasp on it to be able to compare.

ParticipantThose points ring so true, it makes me wanna puke. From that post…
After all, when you find yourself buried under a trash heap of convoluted, under-explored writing and ‘themes’, there’s two things you can do: dig your way out methodically, making sense out of the chaos, OR (what they’ve done here) burn it down and start over.
SUCH lazy writing.
The points she made about how removing Neal conveniently erases Hook’s good deeds to make way for CS, I’m half on board with that thinking. It does VERY conveniently allow them to not address Hook’s misdeeds and turn him into some type of insta-hero.
I’m just still not convinced that we’re gonna get CS, and one of the big reasons is look at the STARK CONTRAST in the scenes of Emma in the woods with both guys in the two most recent eps. The scene where she’s walking with Hook, she’s snarking at him, it’s awkward, he looks like a wounded puppy when she talks about how she loved Walsh, and he attempts to make a romantic overture that is actually tasteless, and she looks at him blankly then walks off. The scene where she’s walking with Neal, they’re chatting so easily, they’re laughing together, they’re bonding, and when Emma tells him about Walsh, Neal is all, “Look you don’t need to apologise, it’s not like we were together or anything anyway, I can’t hold it against you that you found someone.” I mean, they were just so BLATANT in portraying that contrast of Hook being a pouty try hard for her affections, when all Neal wanted was for her to be happy, even if not with him. They potrayed Emma’s interaction with Hook as disconnected and awkward and her interaction with Neal as lighthearted and genuine. If they do a total 180 with the CS interactions from here on in, sorry not sorry but that will be the (second) biggest load of BULL#&%$ this show has ever pulled (first place goes to Neal saying that Rumple finally taught him about selfless sacrifice). I will honestly be dumbfounded if they go from writing them as awkward and Emma being disinterested to Emma wanting to pursue a relationship with him in the space of 2 or 3 episodes. It would completely destroy Emma’s character in my eyes.

ParticipantI just want to say major props to RG for speaking up for our beloved Neal in the podcast for 3×15. She did an amazing job of representing a pro-Nealfire perspective. Neal deserved better than he got in life. RG, you rocked!
Hope Daneil gets it online quickly so the rest of us can listen. Thank you, RG!
Is it wrong that I want a detailed list from A&E with all the things and places where they foreshadowed Neal’s death? Because I still can’t see it, and I need someone to give me a legit run down of where I missed all these alleged signs. :: sigh ::
If it’s wrong then I don’t wannt be right, because I need that list too.

ParticipantWell, I wrote it in a span of a few hours. Haven’t wrote fanfic or fiction of any kind in nearly 20 years. It was very cathartic. It’s not very long, just the long side of a vignette.
I have no desire to post it to anything like fanfiction.net (let’s be honest, it’s just wish fulfillment and a desire to rewrite history), but I wouldn’t mind sharing it if anyone HERE is interested. Let me know if you know a good way to do that. About 1,600 words.
Called “Over the Rainbow.”
Does the “attachment” link under the reply box work for word docs? If not, well there have been novel length posts before, so you could just copy, paste and post it. If you do that, make sure the reply box is set to “Text” mode (top right corner of the reply box) before you paste the text in, because that way it shouldn’t add all the stupid html that “Visual” mode tends to do.
