I think Neal sent Hook the message and told him to go get Emma but not to tell her. If she knew Neal was in trouble she’d go after him (see: Neverland arc). So Hook is keeping secrets about Neal, who is working as a double agent for Zelena
Agreed. If Zelena has some measure of control over Neal, was perhaps keeping him prisoner, (in both FTL and in SB, maybe he was being kept in the house and managed to get out and then went to bust Rumple out too), then he’d know about her Curse plans, but may have still had enough freedom to have been able to get the message to Hook via bird. He may even have had access to the stuff to make the memory potion if he could get into Zelena’s stash. If so, then I could see Neal adding a “PS. Don’t know if/when I’ll be able to get free, so don’t tell Emma what’s up with me when you see her.”
[adrotate group="5"]Part of me enjoyed that moment because YES SHE SHOULD BE MRS GOLD, and part of me hated because that was COLD, Zelena, you know she thinks her true love is dead, and you know he’s alive, and you’re just rubbing salt into Belle’s wound and you need to STEP OFF.
Wouldn’t surprise me if it was a foreshadowing hint for the finale wedding.

I think the Zelena need the courage as away of controlling Charming should the need arise.

I’ve got Rumple pegged as the Scarecrow. If she’s collecting tokens to control an aspect of those individuals, she’s got Rumple’s dagger and thus controls his brain.
So the only one left is the Tin Man and a heart, and by the look of the promo she may well have some control over Neal’s heart. Though if she’s just collecting tokens, I dunno that she’s gonna rip out his heart. As some have been speculating in another thread, perhaps the token to control Neal’s heart could be Emma’s swan pendant.

Is that Alchemy circle thing filling up with water? Like a well of wonders. Or is it wraiths coming out of there? Looks pretty ominous, whatever it is.
Looks black to me, and the way Rumple’s moving makes it look like maybe he’s rising up out of it, so I guess the dark stuff is the Dark One returning? And given that Rumple said to Zelena that she shouldn’t have brought him back, I’m wondering if that oozy dark stuff is her doing, not BelleFire’s, they just happen to get to the place just in time to see what she’s doing. Neal might try to stop her, and that’s when she takes his heart (if that is indeed what she’s done) to get him to back off so she can take Rumple away.
It’s possible she was talking about her biological father, but I’m tempted to say that she might have been talking about her foster father. In 3×13, Zelena said that Cora gave her up and that she grew up in Oz, which leads me to wonder if she was taken in by a couple from Oz.
Agreed that she was likely talking about a foster/adoptive father. If Cora gave her up, why would she give her away to her bio father, especially if he was a drunk? So I think Leo’s still a possibility for bio-dad.
I’m not convinced that Zelena actually grew up in Oz though. “Try growing up without a mother. Try living in Oz.” Maybe those two statements are linked, but they felt separate to me. If she’d grown up in Oz, I’d have expected it to be worded a bit differently.
I loved the scene between Emma and Charming. It was heartbreaking and creepy and perfect.
Also loved the scene between Henry and Regina. It’s nice to see him using her of all people as a confidant.
When she mentioned a brother, I was hoping it would turn out to be Lancelot and we’d find out he wasn’t dead, and….you know, easter eggs for some future plot down the line leading to Camelot or a hint to the past. Lancelot mattered to David, to have saved his sister and help give her courage to lead their people? Wouldn’t that have made it more touching?
I was hoping for the Lancelot connection too! Maybe he just got washed down stream, he didn’t really die, and when he came to he didn’t remember who he was and so he stayed in Camelot?
Main dislike: enough with the “Mary Margaret” FFS. She’s SNOW and you know she’s Snow, and she’s your freaking wife who is pregnant with your child, so CALL YOUR PREGNANT WIFE BY HER REAL NAME. Sorry, but that’s just become a pet peeve of mine.
Well I’d called it that the hooded figure would be a manifestation of Rapunzel’s own fears keeping her prisoner in the tower, so I rather enjoyed her storyline because it meant I’d guessed something right. LOL
It was a pretty minor role for someone who is a pretty major Princess, though. I’m not really expecting to see her again, but if they had a way to work her back into the story again in future, I’d be happy to see some more of her.
Haven’t watched 314 yet (my download finished while I was reading this thread, so gonna get to it ASAP) but all your comments made me go watch the 315 promo.
It does look like Neal’s heart is likely being controlled by Zelena in some way. Which allows for a storyline where Emma helps him get his heart back, (because the Tin Man does end up with his heart in the end, and Dorothy (aka Emma) helps him find a way to do it). And frankly, that’s something I’d quite like to see! Neal helped Emma get her family back and now she can help him get his heart back. YES PLZ! Seriously, you don’t bring a main character back into the story after several eps absence and then wrap up their entire story and kill them in that same ep. I’ll honestly be very shocked if that’s what’s happening in that scene between Neal and Emma where he falls down. I suspect the most agonising thing about this upcoming week will be certain parts of the fandom, because the promo really doesn’t convince me that Neal’s about to die.
Also, I’ve been saying lately that if that cemetery scene in 316 IS a funeral, that it could be Little John’s, if they need to kill him to defend themselves from his monkey-ness, and here’s the trailer for 315 with some of them being set upon by a Flying Monkey. With all due respect to Little John, if he does die, I’ll be claiming cookies.
