ParticipantCurious about the captions. Do they work off a version of the script for the captions? Did the person writing the captions just assume it was a seagull because the bird flew to a ship?
Seagull instantly makes you think Scuttle. And we do know that Ariel’s coming back, and she and Hook will be interacting.
Anyway, at the moment I’m thinking Neal sent the message, because it had to be someone who knew Neal’s address and that there would be stuff in the apartment that could help Emma, which narrows it down to either Neal or Rumple IMO.
Hook’s playing it like he doesn’t know who sent it, but I do wonder if he does actually know. His story changed about how he got the potion, so perhaps he’s slipping up with the half truths as he’s trying to not reveal all he knows.
Perhaps it was actually Ariel who delivered the message, and she was sent by Neal, who we know has the know how to summon sea creatures. I would think that when everyone got returned from whence they came, Ariel became a mermaid again. If Neal ended up in a position where he learned that the Curse was coming, and he wanted to get a message to Hook to help find Emma, and he knew that Hook would be off somewhere on his ship by that point in time, then Neal giving the message to Ariel would make sense. She’s had the role of delivering messages before, so it wouldn’t feel out of place if it was her.

ParticipantSo here’s my theory: Ruby will tell Whale the story that Granny told her and he will understand that there is a connection between werewolfs and flying monkeys. Than he will do a lot of tests on Ruby’s and Granny’s blood and then close to the end of the season he will discover a way to cure the flying monkeys and make them human again.
That would be so great! Like KFC said, it’s such a cool idea that it probably won’t happen, but someone needs to write that fanfic if the show doesn’t do it. I’m having visions of Granny agreeing to Whale doing some work on Ruby, and warning him to not “play doctor” with her or he’ll meet her crossbow. 😛
Part of me thinks that the transformation from human to animal thing is too obvious a connection for them to not be timing Ruby’s return deliberately, (none of us expected to see her at all this early in the season, and now she’s been in both eps so far), but part of me doesn’t wanna get my hopes up for it.

ParticipantI agree and this might be nit picky of me….but why are there cobwebs? SB was just recreated not too long ago. Everything should be spic and span…?
Perhaps to indicate that she’s had him locked up for a long time, even though he hasn’t been in that specific cell for ages, he’s been in another cell for ages, and that cell was cobweb-y, which transferred over to the SB cell.
Can’t wait for the Rumple/Zelena stuff, you can’t tell just by the pics that it’s gonna be intense!
Nice to have a clear shot of the dagger to confirm that his name is still on it. And also confirmation that she’s had him spinning gold. Her comment about the value of Regina’s jewels makes me think she’s never had riches herself, (apart from those emeralds) and now she’s using Rumple to get herself cashed up.

ParticipantI seriously can’t wait for that ep! 🙂

ParticipantLOL RG! 😉
I’m just excited that Hook’s gonna be interacting with our mermaid, because I bloody well wanna know what his reason for being so anti-mermaid is, feels like there’s gotta be some specific event that made him feel that way, and maybe we’re gonna find out what it was.

ParticipantJafar was supposed to die as a boy when his father held him under the water but fate (through the ring his mother gave him) brought him back. By both Amara and Jafar going into the Well, balance will have been restored.
Yep, sucks to be Jafar and have to drown TWICE, but I think it’s the most poetic way to wrap up his storyline.
He’d be a good villain for the main show if they need another one in future, though off the top of my head I can’t think of how they’d tie him in. If they ever get around to Aladdin and Jasmine, then I guess, but assuming one of Cyrus’ brothers was the genie in their story, Jafar won his battle against them because he got the genie lamp, so it’s not like he’d have unfinished business with Aladdin and Jasmine in present day. I could see them using him in Aladdin and Jasmine flashbacks though.

ParticipantAt the moment, I’m thinking that Rapunzel’s hair is just a symbol of how long she’s been trapped in the tower, (dunno that it has any magical properties). Cutting it off and defeating the hooded figure in the process, I think will be symbolic of her overcoming her demons that have kept her trapped. And when I say “demons”, I’m thinking like her personal fears about the world, which has kept her holed up in there away from it all, and the hooded figure is a manifestation of that, as opposed to an actual independent demonic entity.

ParticipantI guess they didn’t want to draw attention to her absence, but unfortunately for the writers, whether or not we’d see Mulan again with the Merry Men is a thing lots of people in the fandom have been hoping for/expecting, so her absence was obvious.
Jamie’s new show films in NYC, where she’s been living since working on it, so popping in for a very brief guest appearance really wasn’t practical.
Just a line from Robin during the reunion with Neal to say, “Oh hey, so Mulan decided to join the Merry Men, but then she decided to return to her old village, she left yesterday, you just missed her.” They could have had Belle say, “You know Mulan too?” and Robin be all, “YOU know Mulan too?” It coulda been another fun little bonding moment to build on what we already had. People still would have been bummed to not see her again, but at least there would have been an explanation.

ParticipantRegina’s lock on the crypt door, and the lock on her office in SB were both blood magic. The protection spell Regina left around the castle was essentially a lock as well, so I think it’s safe to assume that that was also blood magic.
I completely agree on that first sentence, but the rest doesn’t make any sense. ;o)
Again: Regina was totally perplexed and couldn’t believe, that anbody had entered the crypt (Blood Magic), but she immediately “accepted” it, that someone “hijacked” the protection spell (outside the castle). I didn’t hear Regina say something like “That’s not possible” in that scene – like she did in the crypt! Instead, when standing in front of the “magic shield” (It’s NOT a lock, it’s a shield) with the others, she was just like “Oh my! Someone hijacked my protection spell. Well, that sucks…” See the difference in that?
I do see the difference in the wording, yes, but I just put that down to the writers not having wanted to use the words “blood magic” yet and give away too much a whole week earlier than they wanted. They wanted the big sisters reveal to be contained in 313, so they didn’t wanna start giving away blatant hints like the words “blood magic” in 312.
The shield was a device to keep people out. A lock is a device to keep people out. When Regina put the shield up, she was essentially locking the front door so no one could get in.
I think from a storytelling perspective, it would be rather odd of them to have a reveal this major and then later say “Psych!” This isn’t just some every day plot twist, they’ve gone and given Regina a living blood relative, which she hasn’t had for quite some time. Now that they’ve put something like that out there for not just Regina, but also the audience to believe in, I doubt they’d backtrack on it.
