Participantthe other questions is–once turned into a monkey–can you be turned back???
I’ve gotta re-watch it, but on first watch, the scene with Zelena, it seemed the Monkey was expecting some sort of payment, which could have maybe been the ability to switch between monkey/human form? If so, that could make Walsh a unique case?
Hook: There wasn’t anything for me in the Enchanted Forest. Why would I stay? All was well…until I got a message,
So was he just in another part of FTL that remained unaffected by the new Curse? Or did he somehow hop to another world entirely, and that’s where he got the message?

ParticipantHook himself said his idea of home is his ship, which he’s not going to want to just give up to live in a cool loft apartment in Manhattan, a cozy home in SB or even a castle in the Enchanted Forest. Hook is a man of the high seas. The sea is in his blood.
He even said that if he couldn’t find the JR, he’d just steal another ship instead. His home always has been and always will be the sea.
She even nearly had a fake fiancé named Walsh, who turned out to be evil. She said she loved Walsh. I’m thinking that is going to help Emma understand how Neal could have loved Tamra, his evil fiancee. Lots of parallels.
The secretly evil NYC fiancee is such a blatant setup to be able to have Emma empathise with what Neal went through with Tamara.
Neal’s not having it look lol Can we talk about how damn determined and optimistic he is in this scene? Despite losing the love of his life, his son, and his father in the span of less than 24hrs and the first words out of his mouth unlike her Parents, Regina, and Hook who’s first knee jerk reaction is to accept their fate and wallow in their grief?
Yes! He told Emma and Henry he’d see them again, and dammit, he’s gonna keep his word!
Also noticed they cut the captainswan hug out!
For a second I wondered if my live stream had buffered (AGAIN) and I missed it, because I was waiting for it, and then nothing.

ParticipantUm. Do you know who lived/had a kingdom inside a giant labyrinth? CORA
Curious. 😉

ParticipantTiara just posted something in the chat that reminded me of the crack theory I posted several days ago, that it was Rumple who had sent the note with Neal’s address on it to Hook. He could have also given Hook other instructions, about getting to Emma and making the potion.

ParticipantReally quick: I will never believe the media bias again. There was nothing BUT SF feels in this episode. It’s like they’re just setting up their reunion.
For real! LOL See people, it pays to just wait and see and judge for yourself. 😉
FAMILY was the whole theme of this episode. And Hook even says he didn’t do it for them, but for her. Which is YES romantic, but not part of the overarching theme of the show and specifically this episode.
That line really stuck out to me, and I actually appreciate that they’re not trying to play him off as doing a big hero act for everyone’s sake, his primary focus is still Emma, he’s still got the selfish pirate streak, and he didn’t shy away from saying it.

ParticipantYes, I think to Regina, Zelena is just the Wicked Witch of Oz. Yet, to Zelena, Regina is her little twerp of a baby sister who got everything she always wanted: attention from their mother, a castle, a royal title, family, power.
Yep!
That’s so gonna be Monkey Little John in the hospital. I think one of the blurry figures in the background is Robin.
Guess that crest on the banners with the labyrinth-ish design is Zelena’s?

ParticipantWhich means that the Wicked Witch doesn’t want Emma there for some reason. Is she the Savior once again?
Possibly. Though maybe it was more about keeping Henry away.
I had been thinking that if Zelena wants to really torture Regina, it’d help her cause to have amnesiac Henry in SB, but not actually able to live with Regina because he doesn’t know who she is. But perhaps Henry’s the key to breaking the new Curse, so he needs to be kept far away.

ParticipantAll I can say is I am pretty confident that Hook is not working with the Witch, like some have theorized. I think Walsh made it pretty clear that the Witch wanted Emma to stay where she was and not come anywhere near Storybrooke.
Agreed.
If it’s someone we know who sent him, my first suspect is Blue. We know she knows how to make the memory potion, and someone told Hook how to make it.
So many questions to be answered!

ParticipantLoved the little BelleFire scene! Can’t wait to see more of them working together to find Rumple.

ParticipantI was surprised they made that reveal so quickly, with Emma being completely aware of what he really was.
They did a great job with the Monkey CGI. Walsh was legit scary.
I remember one spoiler article saying Walsh had a scar, which I didn’t pick up on on first watch, but I guess if so, that was there to confirm that he’s the same Monkey that Robin shot with the arrow.
It seems he was sent to keep Emma away from SB, considering he was pissed that she’d taken the potion and remembered who she was.
