Agreed, Heather, as INFURIATING as it is, it actually probably bodes well for neither Neal or Belle dying, because if they were gonna be dying, ABC would be promoting them right now. Due to the lack of promotion of those characters, it would be a complete media non-event if either of them died, and you know the media will want to talk and talk and talk about the death when it happens.
I actually saw a tweet from an EvilRegal who said that Neal and Belle aren’t even their faves, and they still thought it was incredibly wrong for them to have been excluded. So it’s not just us and our bias, even people who aren’t that fussed on the characters were put off by it.
[adrotate group="5"]Ah, if only Rumple were real. There’s no way the promo monkeys would leave his TL, his son and his grandson out of promo if they had the threat of being turned into a snail and stomped on hanging over their heads.
Perhaps they thought it would give too much away to show Neal and Belle on the Oz side with Rumple. So perhaps we should see it as a positive that Neal and Belle WILL be going after Rumple, and they’re trying to keep the surprise of that under wraps. But then why have Rumple at all, considering they’ve been really cagey about giving away any info about him? And there’s still no reason for Henry to have been excluded. So even if I try to convince myself of the logic about Neal and Belle, that logic doesn’t apply as a whole, so I just can’t buy it. And really, if this composition would have given too much away, they should have just bloody well come up with a different composition so that everyone could be included. Move Hook over more on the SB side and have the middle panel be a space in between worlds and have Neal and Belle, and maybe even Henry there. It just makes no sense that they left them off completely.
I’m glad Adam replied to you, RG. I confess to not knowing anything about Scandal and how it’s promoted, but by the sound of it only the main character is usually in promo pics, so I really don’t think that is a fair comparison to this situation. This is a whole cast photo…but with 3 of them randomly excluded. The work on the panels is an excellent quality, but as a whole, well, there’s just a big gaping hole where Neal, Belle and Henry should be, and it throws the look of the entire thing off IMO.
Nope. If anyone wants to use this pic as proof of who death is, that’s ridiculous, because then you’d have to believe they’re gonna kill THREE characters, and we know that’s not happening. The only thing this pic is proof of is that the promo department needs a kick up the arse and a slap upside the head.
It’s like ABC takes delight in seeing the fandom torn to shreds.
Whatever your personal stance on the characters themselves, MRJ, Jared, and Emilie are regulars. They deserve to be recognized for the hard work they do each and every week in helping bringing this show to us.
ALL OF THIS! Why would they leave off three of the main cast? Two of whom the promo department is already aware will annoy fans at their absence, because they’ve been through hearing from annoyed fans over the lack of them in promo before. Just…GAH. *HEADDESK*
I’m not exactly discouraged, I’m just pissed. I’m also pissed that Belle isn’t there, and Henry, and of course the lack of Neal. I just….*ALL THE EXPLETIVES*. ALL the main cast should be on that thing. ALL OF THEM.
And I’m sure this will fire up all the people again who had been prematurely rejoicing over Neal’s alleged death. I don’t personally think the pic proves it, but you better believe that the haters will start spouting that it’s “proof” and the crap will hit the fan in the fandom all over again. *HEADDESK*
The 3rd panel looks awesome…but what’s with the no Neal and Belle again? It’s the S3A promo pics all over again. *sigh*
And no Henry in this thing at all also seems wrong.
