Yes this is a huge disconnect for me as well. Especially when the episode ends with a father getting to move on after talking to his child. It’s…yeah, disconnect is the best word here

I can think of a few other words that would fit, but yes, let’s just stick with disconnect because ACCURATE. Evidently they CAN actually grasp this concept of parent/child relationships being resolved, but only when it’s convenient.

What helps to infuriate me more is that they even addressed how Rumple and Pan still have issues, so they even grasp the concept when it comes to the Stiltskin family, that father/son abuse and abandonment that’s recurred over generations, which was at one time a core part of their story that gave it some emotional gravitas. Not giving Neal’s current, present day role in that family line its due, just smacks of them tossing their original story onto the trashpile and not bothering with it any more, even though it should be very relevant to the current situation and emotions they’re exploring in the show.

For all the MAJOR ISSUES I have with some of the words that were said, (which I don’t really need to rant about, because I know I’d just be preaching to the choir), I must say that even if the writers don’t get it how important and unbreakable Emma and Neal’s connection is, I now believe that JMo does actually get it. The last time JMo managed to portray any emotion that was this real, was the scene where Neal died. It’s like, whenever she comes face to face with him, Pod!Emma is no more, and she’s a real person with believable emotions.

I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry over the fact that they expect us to buy into Emma having a similar connection to Hook. It’s such a joke, but it’s the saddest joke ever.

I have to give them credit for filling in the backstory of how Henry Sr ended up in a box in WL, in a way that actually made sense, and didn’t feel like they were desperately trying to shoehorn it in retcons be damned.

Honestly, the fact that Henry Sr so easily forgave Regina for killing him caused me to throw some sideeye, because I know she’s he’s baby girl, but REALLY? But overall, he was brilliant, and his presence was the highlight of the episode. He provided a tie between past and present, and did it with an emotional element that made me feel more invested in Regina’s redemption arc than I ever have before.

    Least Favorite:
–Neal not getting a chance to talk to Henry. And also insisting that his business is finished when that’s so not what was shown.

I’m not sure where they get off saying in one breath how he misses Henry, and how Henry misses him, and then in the next breath saying that he’s got nothing unresolved. Don’t even get me started on how Neal’s relationship with his father is SO FAR AWAY FROM BEING RESOLVED that it’s like they’re spitting on their original story by now saying, “Meh, no biggie.”

Also, they really should have left those words about how she’d have saved him if she knew he could out of Emma’s mouth because SERIOUSLY? She had the opportunity to change history and save his life, but she INSISTED that Rumple LET NEAL REMAIN DEAD. So please, Emma, SPARE ME with the, “I’d have saved you,” stuff.

That being said, that scene was the first time in ages that I’ve sensed any convincing emotion of any kind in JMo’s performance, so while I may have many issues with what was actually said, JMo and MRJ managed to effortlessly convey the emotional connection their characters have.

I have been dreading this moment. I’ve had a few glasses of wine this evening, perhaps I should just keep drinking until it gets to time to watch the show, then it might be slightly more tolerable?

Do those descriptions match with the Grimm brothers though? I mean, sure the show takes liberties with how they portray characters, but the Grimms were actual people with documented real lives, and weren’t they close to each other? Writing them as they are in those character descriptions would be quite disrespectful to the actual, real people if they were brothers who loved each other and worked together very well.

A bit late, but I don’t think Wes did it. I think he found her like that and then picked up the knife, but I don’t think Wes killed her.

If he didn’t kill her, it must have been a case where he heard something and came into the room immediately after she’d been stabbed, and the killer heard him coming and ran and hid. Rose is still convulsing while he’s standing over her, and it shouldn’t take too long to bleed out from a stab wound to the jugular.

If that’s the case, then the question is, who stabbed her? FWIW…Annalise brought Frank with her…so help me God if he’s the one who stabbed Rose, (OMG if he did then I’ll bet Frank’s the next one who’ll end up dead when Wes finds out what he did)! Maybe he wasn’t supposed to kill her, just rough her up a bit, (maybe, I dunno stab her IN THE LEG) for some reason that Annalise was gonna play up in her client’s favour somehow? And maybe the fact that he did kill her was the turning point that made him, and Annalise, take that dark turn. Srsly, they’re so freaking smiley and chipper and casual in those flashbacks, IT’S QUITE DISCONCERTING.

I’m interested in the explanation for Frank killing Lila though…did Annelise know it was him all along?

We definitely need more info on Frank’s history with Annalise and Sam. He had to kill Lila, because he owed Sam for something. But we dunno if Annalise was aware of how close Sam and Frank were.

Frank is quite a horrible human being, but God help me, I just wanted to give him a big hug when he was getting weepy in that scene with Laurel!

I also think the videos are being sent by someone in the Keating 5…Wes, maybe?

It almost seems too easy of an answer if it really is Phillip sending them. I mean, we know he was there outside the house at some point that night, but dunno how long he stayed. Dunno if any of the Keating 5 would have been in a position to get those videos? Frank wouldn’t have had time to get to the house to shoot the videos I don’t think? Did we actually see Caleb leave the house? I remember him and Michaela walking outside, but then she was all, “You go, I’ll stay here,” and did we see him actually get in a car and leave? Or is the next time we see him when Michaela goes to see him after all the madness has happened? Could he maybe have hung out in the garden for a bit, and then still beat them back to Michaela’s place so they thought he’d been there all along?

If any past characters should be stuck in the Underworld due to unresolved issues, it’s Neal freaking Cassidy. But they’ll have him appear just so they can explain why he won’t be seen in any of the Underworld eps, because he’s totally at peace or some crap like that. It’s insulting to the character’s entire story, and the relationships he had, that they’re now gonna write it all off as, “Bygones.”

I’m bracing myself for the worst, and will have to have at least one alcoholic beverage before watching, and probably a few more after.
