ParticipantI wonder if 316 and 317 are sort of a cliffhanger thing? The show is going straight through but is there a holiday thing of one week off or anything? They definitely are doing lots and lots of night shooting (poor babies, so cold).
I think you’re right. 316 will end on some sort of big *gasp* moment and then 317 picks up from there. Maybe while Hook is keeping Henry safe, Wicked pops up and manages to take him?
316 will have the street fight, then WW takes off, and we think that’s the big climax of the ep. But nope, surprise, WW, with Rumple in tow, shows up where Hook and Henry are, and WW forces Rumple to fight Hook and steal Henry.
317 picks up with everyone else showing up just in time to miss WW leaving with Henry, and Hook vows to help get him back, because he was kidnapped on his watch.
318, they have Henry back, and Regina’s now extra paranoid and controlling over making sure Henry is protected, and that’s paralleled with controlling Cora back in the day.
Maybe?

ParticipantAlso, am i the only one who thinks Ariel is NOT in the FTL? She told Snow to travel to her land, not her kingdom. The mermaids must live on a separate realm seeing as they can cross through them all and such. The merpeople live in Atlantica in the disney movies. I will not surprised if that is where Ariel is and where she was transported back to. I doubt we will see it, but still >>
The way I think of it is that the whole of under the sea is a separate “world” in its own right. And from down there, you can surface at any point in any other world. Considering how quickly Ariel showed up when Regina called her, I’d guess that Triton’s palace, (where we would assume Ariel lives, and she typically hangs out in the general vicinity) happens to be off the coast of NL. Other locations in the undersea realm happen to be off the coast of WL, or FTL, and so on.
I would think, if undoing the Curse sent everyone back to where they were from, that Ariel should have gone back to the undersea world. Victor should have gone back to the World Without Colour. We know for sure that he ends up back in reinstated SB though, so I’d guess that whatever brings SB back, takes back everyone who was there before, which I’d think would include Ariel.
Snow still has that hideous beige coat after they get back, so I’m guessing Ariel would get the bracelet back in SB as well, but they were all in FTL clothing when they got sent back there, so I’d guess that Ariel wouldn’t have the bracelet at all when she gets sent back under the sea. (Regina may be able to conjure up a replacement if Ariel swims to FTL to find Eric though.)

ParticipantI may or may not have clapped and bounced in my seat when I saw her tweet. LOL

ParticipantTo add to slurpeez’s interpretation of “Jolly Roger”, there might also be meaning in the “jolly”, which means happy and satisfied, which is what Hook would be if he truly regained his good form, which he could possibly do by giving the ultimate selfless sacrifice.
The whole fandom has been expecting that the death could well happen in an ep they’re filming soon, rather than in the finale, and honestly, one of the reasons I was curious about the title for 317 was to see if it would be a Hook centric to match up with the timing of the death speculation. YoungCora’s gonna be in 318, so that’s unlikely to be the centric of anyone high up on the death suspect list, so unless they’re not killing anyone until 319 or later, if they’re gonna kill the character in their centric, evidence seems to be in favour of Hook right now IMO.
In cheerier news, YAY for the #AskMRJ! 😀

ParticipantI’m going to eat crow if there isn’t some Hookriel flashback interaction during this episode. I mean, you got the title of the episode and you don’t address
Ever since Hook’s obvious disdain for mermaids was mentioned at the end of S2, I’ve hoped there was a story as to why. And then we got the mermaids in the Captain’s quarters. And now we’ve got Ariel in a Hook centric ep. Surely we must be learning something about Hook’s history with mermaids in this ep.
I’m starting to think Blackbeard is code for Davey Jones, the father of Killian Jones.
If we get a casting call for two young brothers, then I’d say you’re right.
Dunno that we’ll get more casting calls for this ep considering they’re about to start shooting it (if they didn’t already start today). I’m on board with Blackbeard being a place holder decoy name. Blackbeard was an actual, real person, and though he’s been used in fiction before, this show sticks with fictional/mythical characters, (Mulan’s the closest they’ve had to an exception to that rule, but even then I dunno if there’s actual proof that Mulan was a real person?), so I’d be surprised if they portrayed Blackbeard on the show. I agree that the character’s actual name is likely Davy Jones.
I realize a lot of eps you can dig up some sort of family tie, I mean, this is Once, everyone’s related to each other. But to me it does seem like he focuses on big family events/parental stories.
Yeah, he seems like a good pick if they’re gonna fill in Hook’s daddy issues backstory. Oh IDEA…their father was seduced away by a mermaid. Could explain both Hook’s hatred of mermaids, and also his habit of seducing other men’s wives, all the better if they’re mothers. In a couple of ScrewballNinja’s essays, she’s mentioned characters re-living their greatest moment of trauma through their own actions, and this could be another example of it.
I’m still up in the air about if Blackbeard is Killian and Liam’s actual father OR if he’s the father figure who teaches Pirate Hook how to be a proper pirate.
If his name ends up being Davy Jones, then he’s their actual father, because they were named Jones before Killian turned pirate.
We have Nealfire and MAYBE–JUST MAYBE–we can have some honest to heaven CaptainFire interaction without the triangle of doom
Do we dare to dream?
If I’m not mistaken, the last time we saw Hook, he was on the seashore, with Henry and a boat was seen close by.
One of the people who was there watching, mentioned that it was a safety boat, which they’re required to have on location whenever they’re filming near water.

ParticipantWhat if that’s why no one would keep Emma, weird accidents kept happening around her that freaked out foster families????
I could totally see that happening!
As for the 312 speculation, I like that the dream catcher could actually spark some memories. There wasn’t magic yet in SB when she touched the book and got flashes of memory, so are we sure that touching the dream catcher couldn’t do the same thing, even in the land without magic? Maybe because the dream catcher has a hole torn in it, it won’t work properly? Maybe she’ll hold it and it’ll sorta flash, like it’s trying to do the thing that happened with Pongo, but it can’t connect properly because of the hole? Or maybe it would work, but would only show her memories that belong to Neal, which means she still has to drink the potion to get her own memories back?

ParticipantJoAnna Garcia said in an interview on the 22nd that she was headed to Vancouver in 5 days, which means she should be heading there today.

ParticipantJudging by the backdrop in the interview vid, JoAnna was at the Elle Women in TV Celebration which was on the 22nd, so + 5 days = she should be heading to Vancouver today.

ParticipantI used to have a little dream catcher hanging in the window of my bedroom. Then I got a pair of kittens who had a fave game of climbing the curtains to get to the dream catcher, so I had to take it down. Now I wanna put it back up for fangirly reasons, but I’m pretty sure the cats would still try to get at it. *sigh* Lucky for them they’re cute.
