I think they’d be better off incorporating any new Wonderland ideas into the main show.
I wouldn’t be opposed to that at all. Guess their ability to do that would depend on how this first season of WL ends. We know that Alice and Cyrus will end up in SB one or two eps before the end, but we have no idea of the circumstances, if they stay, and if other characters join them there. I’d be especially happy if they managed to work Will into the main show.
I think a NL mini-series could be beneficial if they still wanted a spin-off of some sort to fill next year’s hiatus. Feels like there’s a lot of history they could tell there, but they probably wouldn’t ever have room for it all in the main show, (though I do hope we at least get to see some NL flashbacks if they do another Hook (or a Tink) centric). And people who already watch the parent show would be pretty much guaranteed to watch a NL spin-off. Even people who felt done with seeing NL, I’m guessing would still tune in if it meant seeing more of Robbie Kay’s Pan, and also Hook in his heyday, (the Pan vs Hook stuff was sorely lacking in S3A, that one scene they shared was fabulous but then it amounted to nothing).
I like it that OUAT can reboot mid-season if an arc doesn’t take off, and I think the long mid-season break will help the B-side to stand on its own.
Though the long break is sort of agonising, I do like that Pan and WW will each get their own stand alone mini-season of sorts in which they can have the spotlight. For all the missed opportunities it feels there were in S3A, the split season did allow them to construct a nicely packaged story arc.

5th: Tied Charming and SnowOk – technically there’s no photo of Emma holding up the vial to her lips, but there are before and after pictures. On the street outside of the police station, 1) Hook hands Emma what appears to be a potion 2) Emma hugs Hook, suggesting she remembers after drinking whatever is in his hand.
And I think in the pic of them hugging, the cork is gone from the top of the bottle?
I could go on and post a frillion more photos just like those, but I’m just saying, the swan nuzzle is an actual thing. (Also an actual thing: swans tend to mate for life, the exception being if one of the pair dies, and they had a chance to kill off Neal but he’s still living.)I wonder, given the benefit of hindsight, if they might agree to a scaled down S2, which they would air in the OUAT hiatus next year, (assuming they stick with the same 11/11 schedule)? By scaled down I mean, like an actual mini-series, not even the 13 eps that WL ended up getting, maybe only half that. It wouldn’t cost as much to make and would provide mid-season filler, and possibly boost DVD sales of S1 if people who didn’t watch it before decide to check out S2.
A bunch of us were just tweeting on Twitter and something dawned on me. Someone mentioned they thought Hook’s kiss not working in the winter finale has less to do with a Snowing memory parallel and more to do with Neal. And I of course have wanted to believe that, but haven’t thought of any reason why that would be, substantially.
And then Emma’s voice popped in my head. “I never stopped loving him.”
Even before Manhattan, she felt that way. Before Henry finding her. Before SB. She never stopped loving him. That part wasn’t erased. Though the pain, through the confusion, through the not understanding. She never stopped loving him. As confusing as it was for her, she never stopped loving him. There was no Manhattan or SSTR, but there was also no Beanstalk, no confusing NL, and no CS Kiss. There was only Tallahassee. That’s the only thing that is left in her head. Here and Now. So while she’s lost some bittersweet good SF memories, she’s also lost ALL of the confusing CS ones.Tallahassee remains.
That’s an interesting observation which makes total sense! If she loved Neal all along, then there’s simply no way that that kiss with Hook could have worked.
SF’s love for each other is unmoveable. Even if they’re apart, even if there are unresolved hurts, their love still remains. Always.
I can’t wait for her to remember everything, and for all that recent stuff with Neal to come rushing back.
Well hopefully MRJ doesn’t want to leave! I wonder, if you asked him was it harder to play a serial killer on True Blood or Neal on OUAT in terms of dealing with the cruelty and delusions of fans who confuse reality with the character on the show—my hunch is he would say OUAT.
I’ll bet you’re right, and that’s a worrying testament for the OUAT fandom.
Everything in this show boils down to your favorite character and least favorite character. If Rumple is actually dead and never seen/heard from again I would still watch but I wouldn’t find it as enjoyable.

With CSF, look at the Character sorting thing that we did yesterday. I don’t think I saw any “Hook” in known SFers and I didn’t see any “Neal’s” in known CSers. But yet both CSers and SFers all had Emma in their top 5.
I looked at the results and noticed that too. And also SFers tended to have RumBelle in their top 5 as well whereas with the CSers they were either further down or at the bottom.
Yes, the results were interesting across the board. Absolutely agree that who your fave characters are influences how you interpret the entire show.
I wonder, if Neal was absolute least favorite of more CSers than Hook is least favorite of SFers? No idea, but he wasn’t in my bottom 5, was below all the main cast, which surprised me because I thought I liked him more than Regina. Yet I like people he is at odds with, so it might push him down because I like Rumple, Belle and Neal more. Same with Snow–I like her more than Rumple, but since I don’t hate Regina, it seems like I like Snow less than I do, if that makes sense.
He was about the middle of my list too. I’m experiencing disillusion and disappointment with Hook right now, as opposed to actual dislike.
So maybe Neal will start to love someone else but I don’t see him doing that with how he has been written where a decade went along and it took a woman on a mission completely faking everything on her side for him to get engaged
I don’t see it happening for him at all. And neither does MRJ.
But with Hook, I think he’s in love with an idea of who he thinks Emma is, not Emma as she really is.
But at this point I don’t know how they resolve the CaptainFire stuff while resolving the CaptainSwanFire stuff.
Hook doesn’t even KNOW who Emma really is. They’ve had no opportunity to just chill out and actually get to know each other. From what he HAS seen of her, it’s unsurprising that he’s attracted. Considering what Emma’s kiss did to Graham’s brain, I think it’s believable that her kiss had an affect on Hook’s brain as well. It made something in him shift, and he automatically assigned that feeling the description of “love”, but I think in time he’ll come to realise that that’s not what it really is. It’s like he was locked into a certain mindset, and Emma turned the key, but his actual future love is on the other side of the doorway that’s now half open.
I really don’t see moving on to someone else as being consistent with Neal’s character. His heart belongs to Emma, has since the moment they met. She’s the one he’d waited centuries to meet, and she’s the one he hurt (though not without reason), and there’s so much emotion tied up in all of that, all the good and all the bad, his and Emma’s hearts are entwined in a way that’s unique to them, and I can’t see them ever being separate.
CSF needs to be resolved before there’s any hope for CaptainFire stuff to be resolved. And OMG do I want CaptainFire stuff to be resolved because that relationship has been such a missed opportunity thus far. It’s gonna take Hook making some personal realisations and changes before any of it can be resolved.

She hasn’t had that realisation about still loving him, she doesn’t have all the new information about why he left her. Referring to SF’s re-meeting as a “benefit” certainly sounds like they’re building towards better things for this pair. “Emma’s not easily charmed by him in the real world,” Kitsis reports. “I’ll just say that!” Agreed those of you who have said that that sounds very much like the NL = Vegas analogy.

This should be amazing, I just hope it doesn’t result in another big setback for Regina. She made such great strides with her redemption in 311, and while I don’t want her to ever completely lose the EQ edge, I hope she doesn’t completely revert. I guess that might be how Robin ties into it, she’s gotta be evil to go after WW, but Robin’s there encouraging her better side as well.

Maybe her actual name can be Jade, and her SB name can be Mara?
Another name I’ve concerned for a Once original name is Midori, which is the Japanese word for Green.

If there’s a topic you want to discuss, just mention the topic in here, without naming the name of the person who posted about it in the other thread or directly quoting them. Like RG said, just keep it anonymous and hopefully then people won’t get up in arms in the future.

Also, that post with the Gremma screencaps was very insightful and makes a lot of sense. Hook may be appealing as the easier option. But true love isn’t easy, otherwise everyone would have it.
