Participant(*laugh or cry*)
Me in a nutshell these days when it comes to this show.

ParticipantWe’ve been told and shown that the Darkness is like a parasite that causes the host to have actual symptoms.
Including not needing to sleep. If Hook’s a Dark One, he shouldn’t have been needing to sleep, so I guess he’s just not noticed that he’s awake 24/7 without getting sleepy ever?

Participantok guys – who else is ticked off by Zelena prancing about in a tight mini dress and high heels with her girlish figure back in tack 5 minutes after having natural childbirth — wtf?? Plot or not – this is insulting to mothers everywhere.
That dress had magical postpartum belly support woven into it. Made out of 100% recycled MacGuffins
LOL, nevermore!
And yes, I’ve never had a baby myself, but even when she was camped out in the dungeon and still in her hospital clothes it was annoying me, because I’m pretty sure a woman needs more than 2 minutes recovery time after delivering a baby before they can move about freely, or sit on the cold hard ground without being in any discomfort at all?
I was more upset that the first thing she did after escaping was Revenge and not going to the girl whom she had just gave birth.
If they turn it around and try to paint her as a devoted mother in the next ep or so, it’s gonna be ridiculous.

ParticipantWhen I was watching I thought, “Well they almost had an LGBTQ moment, if only Red hadn’t sat back up off of Mulan by the time that smoke cleared.”
I guess all of that, “Searching for my own kind,” talk from Red was meant to be some veiled hint at “her kind” actually beig the LGBTQ community in the EF? And if/when we see them again they’ll suddenly be in a relationship without us having had the chance to see it develop?
Not having Mulan mention Aurora as the one who broke her heart was a glaring omission. Their efforts on this issue are so half hearted, meanwhile they pat themselves on the back for it, and it’s infuriating!

If I ever grow up, I wanna be Viola Davis!
Relevant?
Always! I seem to be going through a bicep phase these days. As astounding as his 12 pack is, I’m mesmerised by his upper arms.

ParticipantEither way, this feels like sloppy worldbuilding, and that’s starting to affect the quality of this show in a major way.
Can I please just marry your whole “dislike” list? Because YES, THAT!

ParticipantI don’t know. This episode answered questions but the answers were horrible and weird and made Emma’s hero journey all about a guy, which I find offensive on many levels.
Remember how we speculated that we wanted Emma to beat the darkness by finding the strength within herself to overcome it, and what an inspirational story that would be? *SIGH*
Regina and Emma’s conversation in Camelot
Best scene of the ep IMO. Emma had known that Regina would be the best one to have the Dagger because she’d have the balls to use it as was necessary, and we actually saw it happen. I may have issues with the specifics of the revelation that Emma had thanks to Regina pushing her like that, but regardless, the fact that Regina gave her that tough love was nice to see.
Hook apparently kept trophies of all his kills. Sociopaths do that. Not men who are one half of a story being pushed on us as an all time great love story.
Sociopath!Hook would have been a much more interesting character. If anything, this revelation that he kept these trophies (and still wears them to this day) makes his supposed overnight redemption more laughable. More thoughtful writers could have explored his dark side while still giving us glimpses of his humanity along the way and building towards there being a believable change in him.
My fave bad guy over on “Arrow”, he’s an assassin who tattooed the names of his contract kills all over his torso, one of those names being the brother of one of the main characters. They wrote him as being a snarky word-I-can’t-say-on-this-forum who did his thing and didn’t give a crap about anyone else, but they still gave him a soft spot when it came to his daughter. They built on that to give him a great little arc that led up to a self sacrifical moment.
He’s a recurring character who has only been in a handful of eps over the course of 3 seasons, and had 1 ep’s worth of flashbacks to fill in some of his backstory. When I compare what was accomplished with that character with so little air time, to the potential the OUAT writers have had with Hook which they just wasted, it really bums me out. He could have been a really interesting, layered, dark character with a well forged and earned redemption arc. *SIGH*
Charming: her name is SNOW WHITE not Mary Margaret. GAH.
My soul dies a little every time Charming calls the love of his life by her fake name.

ParticipantCould it be Mila?
Or, if they really want to be bad, it was a ring that belonged to Young Bae, that Mila took when she left as a symbol to remind her of him, and she gave it to hook as a symbol of love, and then he gave it to Emma.
I’d hate that.
OMG DON’T GIVE THEM IDEAS. *laughing and crying*

ParticipantThis was actually discussed last night.
Today at the supermarket I bought some dark chocoate. Am now wondering if I was subconsciously drawn to the delicious dark chocolate for reasons.
So much tacos last night…and Wes got a painting.
It’s a good thing at least one of ’em wasn’t distracted by having tacos, or they wouldn’t have figured out what was up with the case.
I may be the only person who likes Asher!
I liked his victory dance when he figured out where the bug was! LOL

ParticipantMerida, meanwhile, lost her father probably only weeks (3-6, I’d wager) before kidnapping Belle.
Admittedly I haven’t really paid close enough attention to look for any real clues as to how much time passed, but just the impression I got was that unrest had been gradually brewing in Fictional!Scotland for some time after the death of the King.
