*copying a pasting something I posted about a week ago*

If they’re giving Excalibur its own promo pic with a tagline like, “Mightiest of all Swords”, it will surely be related to the Dagger. Like, Merlin lopped Excalibur’s end off to make the Dagger from the special metal.

Then he was all, “Bugger, they’ll be able to tell I’ve messed around with it and it’s shorter now. I know, I’ll shove it in this rock and it can stay there for a couple centuries until there’s no one left alive who knows what it’s meant to look like, so no one will know the difference when it pops up again.” Or something.

(I’d actually only been joking about the sticking it in a rock so no one could see the busted end of it thing…but whaddya know.)

We all think Wes is Ana son

No we do not, that theory makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth because THEY HAVE ALL OF THE UST SO THEY CAN’T BE RELATED NOPE. 😛

but what if its not Wes (our offspring redherring) but the brother out of the wacky weird wonder twins. From the moment Ana saw the case on the news she wanted it.

This I could see happening. If she gave up a baby boy for adoption, and this guy is the right age, and maybe he’s the spitting image of his daddy, so she recognised him on the TV. Maybe he doesn’t take it well when she goes to the house to tell him that she’s his mother, and he’s the one who shoots her.

I’m still on Wes being Annalise’s son.

    But…like…compare…

    X

    …and

    X

…like, they’ve so blatantly framed it as being an unresolved sexual thing, I just do not get how anyone could see a mother/son thing there?

Also, what kind of odd show is this that philandering Conner has the sweetest relationship…

I kinda like that his former ways seem to now be echoed in what Analise is doing with Eve, (and even what she’s done with Nate). Both Connor and Analise have used sex to get what they need in a particular situation, but Connor, the younger, less experienced one, he’s the one taking responsibility and getting involved in something real.

OK, so I’ve been reserving judgement on Merida, but I think I’m gonna quite enjoy her!

OK, so I’ve watched it twice now, and during the second watching just now I was drinking wine, and it didn’t help, it still blew my mind, so let’s see if I can keep my comments coherent…

–“To get us a murder case that didn’t happen in this house” (that line…that line is awesome)

    That line is EVERYTHING! LOL!!!

    –…and this woman is…? (besides Jean Gray…)

Jean Gray and Amanda Waller totally dated!

From the moment Eve walked in the room, I sensed this vulnerablity in Analise (because Viola is amazing and completely deserved that Emmy) that made me suspect there had been more than just friendship between them. So I wasn’t shocked to have it confirmed. But I totally think that Analise only went back there again so that Eve would cave and take Nate’s case. I think Eve is still invested emotionally, but Analise is using her. Yet I can’t hate Analise for it…because SHE’S ANALISE.

PS. Famke Jansen’s brow bones are NO JOKE.

    –Nekkid. He’s NEKKID

Jack Falahee is fiiiiiiiiiinnnnne, (that might be the wine talking…actually the wine would like to say a few more things…that aren’t allowed on this forum).

So…Coliver! Connor actually moving in, (and being cool with being celbiate for as long as need be) because he totally loves Oliver. “You’re the only part of my day I look forward to.” I JUST LOVE THEM TOGETHER OK!!

    “14 days”
    “Actually 13.”
Not that Oliver is counting down the days or anything, (and I don’t blame him in the least). 😉

Also, when they were making out, and Connor’s phone went off, and Oliver was all, “Don’t answer it,” then Connor was all, “That’s my Analise ringtone,” and Oliver was like, “OMG answer it!” I LOLd, because everyone knows you don’t ignore Analise…ever.

That all sorts of illegal, yes? Like fake evidence? Of course…that’s totally par for the course here.

Laurel is so shady. And the fact she was working with Bonnie, WHO WE NOW KNOW IS A MURDERER. I just kinda fear for what Laurel could potentially turn into. I mean, she was totally cool with creating fake evidence, which is sort of illegal!

Shirtless Frank is a great Frank

Preach. Beards do nothing for me, but Frank was looking pretty good in that scene.

    –Wait. Bonnie?!?!

    –Bad things happened to Bonnie?

    –Well this is MESSED UP

–Ok so once again WE WERE ALL WRONG

–Is she a sociopath? Or just trying to prove herself to Annalise?

I am now SO intrigued by Bonnie’s past! It was Frank saying, “You don’t grow up to be normal when that’s who raised you,” that triggered Analise to figure out it had been Bonnie. So for a minute I thought maybe Bonnie killed her parents and something to do with that case is how she and Analise met? But apparently Bonnie wasn’t a “monster” before, it was only after she killed Rebecca, so maybe she didn’t kill her parents? But killing parents was totally a theme of this ep. But maybe if she killed her parents, Analise figures she was justified, because of how that uncle (I think it was an uncle?) who had raped her died in a fire because of her mother, and Analise seems OK with that, so maybe Bonnie only became a “monster” in her eyes after needlessly killing Rebecca? I NEED TO KNOW BONNIE’S STORY. “Bad things happened to me too. The worst things.” She was so calm and cold when she was killing poor Rebecca!!! “I didn’t make this mess, so don’t you dare include me in it.” Oh honey, but YOU ARE SO INVOLVED I CAN’T EVEN.

–Asher is working for the other lawyer?

“I know what happened at Trotter Lake.” WHAT HAPPENED?! I like that Asher has a dirty little secret now too, considering he’s the only one not involved in Sam’s murder.

    Well this is slightly Oedipal

Like, if anyone still thinks they’re mother and son, (and I’ve seen several people elsewhere thinking they are) after his ep…I just dunno what to say. Like, at the start of the ep, when Analise was talking about who was likely to kill someone, it cut to a shot of Wes when she said, “your lover.” And when she said that line again at the end of the ep, the only two people we saw were her, and Wes. And the question she was quizzing him about in class was about if a spouse had killed their lover, like, that’s the scene where she’d walked right up to him in class. And then the way she was touching him when they were dancing. Yeah, like, she is so NOT his mother.

    –WHAT JUST HAPPENED??!?!?!?!?!

    –DKAJBFKJFKDBKLDFJGKLBJLKFDJGKLBJFLKDJGLJBKLFJDKLFJLKDGJBLKFJKLJB

    –ALKGNFKLGJKLBJFLKDJGKLBJFKLDJGLKBJFLKDJFKD

    –ALBNFKGJKBJFKLDJGBKLFJLKGJBKFJAD

An accurate reaction to the end of the ep, because OMG WORDS I CAN’T SAY ON THIS FORUM!!!! I don’t wanna believe that Wes shot her. I wanna think that someone else did, and Wes was running for help, and we just didn’t see the whole thing. THAT ENDING MELTED MY BRAIN WHICH IS WHY I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH.

OK, so, other notes from my own notes I made while watching the ep…

Where did Frank dump Rebecca’s body, and is that gonna become relevant again at some point? I saw a tweet from the acress who plays Rebacca where she said she was freaking out whatching the stunt woman get stuffed into the suitcase. FRANK STUFFED REBECCA IN A SUITCASE!!!

The adopted siblings who allegedly killed their parents are totally a couple, yes? Like, their parents found out, and that’s why they had to kill them? I actually think the sister probably killed them, because she’s the one who didn’t write off Analise when she first came to them. Also, that picture she was painting, the photo she was copying, it was from a LIFE INSURANCE AD that she’d torn out of a magazine or something. And I think Analise suspects that one of them killed their parents because of her being all, “Maybe I did kill my hubby, but I ain’t on trail for it, am I,” like she’s trying to appeal to their sinister side.

Nate swore that he was gonna take Analise down with him. I do not like the sound of this. I still think he might be who Rebecca was txting with the “Eggs 911”, so maybe that’s him replying to Michaela because he’s now looking for ways to undermine Analise and he wants to use Rebecca to help do it? Or something?

Poor Michaela does seem to have a type. Girl needs to get her gaydar checked. When she was so bluntly, “OK go away now,” I really felt for her.

Who killed the Aunt? Same person who killed the parents? Or did Bonnie kill her?

And Jerome…..the dude playing him….Wow! Just wow! He’s very in tune with his character! Anyone get the feeling that Barbra will likely end up becoming Harley Quinn???

A couple of us had this conversation this morning and @Phee made a really good point that while Barbara probably won’t be Harley herself, she’ll be the reason why Jerome creates Harley at some point in the future.

    Quote

Yup. Basically, I’m seeing it as he’s totally crushing on Barbara, but she’s totally not interested, because she’s into Tigress instead, (check the way Barbara is almost hyperventilating as she watches Tigress kill that guy, and it looks like they’ll be making out in the next ep). I’m thinking that being shunned by Barbara will scar him, and so when Harley comes along, and she actually shows some interest in him, he’ll see to it that she gets twisted into his Babs2.0 who is devoted to him. The Barbara/Jerome stuff allows them to play around with and hint at that Joker/Harley dynamic, without straight up labeling it as such, (which I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be allowed to do because Suicide Squad movie).

I recall cast and crew interviews saying that Gotham was basically re-inventing itself this Season.

They’ve been saying it’ll be more serialised, and you certainly get that impression from the season premiere, that they’re setting up some ongoing storylines.

–Why is Selena working for Penguin?

Saw an interview with Camren where she said that Selina’s trying to figure out where she belongs, so I think she’s just trying on being in Penguin’s gang as a part of that. I hope we get to see her doing some stuff independently too though. Frankly, my fave thing about her being there was Penguin’s line about having a cat around, because Robin Lord Taylor is a HUGE cat person, which I adore about him, and I can imagine him giggling when he read that line in the script. 😉

–The ending is rather horrible cliche in terms of writing, but more or less expected since Baby! Batman is in fact…Batman

Cliche though it may be, I really loved that ending, it kicked me right in the FEELS. David Mazouz is a great little actor, and the way his voice wavered as he read his father’s letter made me want to reach into the screen and hug him. Then it gets to the bit about, “Unless you feel a calling, a true calling,” and the way David delivered that part, I felt like suddenly I wasn’t looking at a sad boy any more, he’d changed into Baby!Batman. And I liked how they cut to Jim, because he’s got that calling himself, and until Bruce is old enough, it’s on Jim to try and be the caretaker of Gotham, no matter how unhappy and dark that effort is gonna be for him.

    2) I think they are doing it for the wrong reasons. I don’t think they are doing it because “reflective of the world we live in.” We’ve been living in this world for a long time and they didn’t even make Mulan declarative bisexual/lesbian. They just alluded to. They are doing this because there has been such outrage over not having a proper LGBT storyline. Which leads me to…

No doubt about that. If people hadn’t been begging for it, it wouldn’t have even entered their minds to do it.

    3) I think this is another indication that the show is ending. They want to appease as many humans as possible.

I’m not convinced it’s ending just yet, (though I’d be fine if it did). I think the show is a big enough deal that the network would give the writers and the audience the forewarning that the final season will be the final season. I suspect A&E have probably been put on notice though, and told that if numbers don’t improve this season, then next season is definitely their last, and they may not get a full episode order. I reckon that’s why we’re getting the LGBT storyline this season, because they hope (*twitch*) it will bring in more viewers, because it’s something the viewers have been begging for. It’s why Mulan has already been confirmed to be in both halves of the season, because they need to not have that ratings drop off for the end of 5A and the start of 5B.

Copying and pasting the numbers RG posted in the ratings thread…

Season Four-A Premiere Ratings: 3.5 (“A Tale Of Two Sisters”)

Season Four-A Finale Ratings: 1.7 (“Heroes and Villains”)

Season Four-B Premiere Ratings: 2.2 (“Darkness On The Edge Of Town”)

Season Four-B Finale Ratings: 1.8 (“Operation Mongoose Part 1 and Part 2”)

…3.5 down to 1.7 by mid-season finale is a bit woeful, and only coming back to a 2.2 after that still isn’t great. But if their big drawcard LGBT story line is just starting to pick up with Mulan’s reappearance towards the end of 5A, and people know she’s still gonna be there at the start of 5B, that could go some way to rectifying those numbers a bit. And if that pays off, then the network will have more confidence in the show again and will commit to that full episode order for S6 and possibly beyond, (and Mulan and whoever her girlfriend ends up being could end up as a more regular fixture next season if they prove to be popular enough).

Despite the falling ratings, I think ABC would consider the show a big enough deal that they’ll give it all the “FINAL SEASON” promo bells and whistles. They’re invested enough in the show that there are attractions for it at Disney parks, it’s not just some show, it’s become a part of the Disney brand, and they know that there’s still a sizeable fandom even if the ratings don’t reflect it. Those things considered, I think they’ll respect it enough to give it a proper sendoff with a final season that’s promoted as such, rather than a, “Nope sorry, it’s getting cancelled,” in the articles that come out when shows are getting renewed or not.

I can’t believe that CS fan suggested that she use Savior Queen. Oh bother.

Here’s hoping that someone replied to her tweet where she asks if it’s widely known, and let her know that if she values her sanity and peace in her @ replies, that she won’t start adopting that phrase. *HEADDESK*

Our Lancelot was raised near a lake, wasn’t he? I know Arthurian Lancelot was raised by the Lady Of The Lake (who wasn’t his actual mother?), but in-show, he mentioned growing up near a lake, yes? Did he specifically mention his mother though?

Nimue/Viviene is Lady Of The Lake in Arthurian legend, yes?

She and Merlin were a thing, yes?

If they want me to buy that regular dude Lancelot has two uber magical parents…nope. (Unless his mother gets cursed into being a non-ageing-magical-being after having given birth to him as a mortal woman, then I could buy into the idea…though I’d still find it odd if Merlin fathered a child that had no magical ability at all.)
