The Hansel and Gretel thing is the only thing making me question if she actually could have wanted to get pregnant in FTL. If she wanted to prevent getting pregnant with either Leopold or Graham, I’m sure she could have easily arranged that. Modern world contraception isn’t the only form of birth control there’s ever been, so I’m sure they had condoms of some description in FTL, but even if not, Regina could have magiced herself up some contraception.

Yeah, 309 Regina flashback before adopting Henry makes the most sense IMO.

Haven’t ever thought too much about the infertility theory, but I guess perhaps baby making is why she enslaved Graham, (she did try to get Hansel and Gretel to stay with her, so it seems she wanted a child), so she didn’t use any form of birth control, but still didn’t end up pregnant. Getting pregnant in SB during the Curse was impossible for everyone.

Then the next question I have, if she is infertile, was that just a natural happenstance, or was it part of the overall Curse/prophecy thing? Because if she’d had a child of her own in FTL, she may not have felt so unfulfilled and angry. She may have gotten over the Snow hate if she’d channeled all that passion into loving a child instead. And if she already had a kid, then she wouldn’t have looked into adopting, and she had to look into adopting so that Henry could be brought to SB. So it’s sort of necessary for her to have been childless. Maybe it was her fate to be infertile that’s what sealed the deal of her being the one who was fated to cast the Curse. Or maybe someone cursed her to be infertile to serve the purposes of the Curse.

Went to look up her @ replies to see what people said. Didn’t see much of anything really, so perhaps people have deleted stuff by now? Of the 100s of tweets she got in response to the pic, only a handful were particularly negative. One person did tell her to eat a poisoned apple, which was completely unnecessary.

Anyway, I thought the pic was cute, but I’d hope that any offspring of CS wouldn’t be born with the hook, because poor Emma!

Yeah if they stick to that pattern, there aren’t enough days left. If they step it up to 1 per day for the final countdown to Sunday though, it fits perfectly.

You’d think they’d have Belle and Neal ones because the set of dodgy photos had them both, as did the group shot. *fingers crossed*

I thought about that a bit before, that maybe Snow knows Eric somehow, and she brings her new buddy Ariel along to the party. Snow was in full Bandit costume when she was all wet though, wasn’t she? So not likely to be getting invited to any royal balls during that time.

Not suggesting that Snow makes her human. I’m saying that in the t-word, after saving Snow, is when Ariel makes a deal with whoever (either Regina or Rumple) to become human.

Actually, in my opinion, Ariel saving both Snow and Eric wouldn’t be redundant as much as it would be an interesting parallel. Maybe Ariel is a self-appointed lifeguard of downing people.

If they were in separate eps then I’d consider it more of a character building parallel thing. They already have to cut stuff out of every ep to get it down to time, and showing two separate scenes of Ariel rescuing people at around the same point in the t-word would be eating up valuable airtime that could be used for something else. But I’m guessing if she does save Eric, it’ll be in this ep, because they’d probably show the rescue before showing them dancing together.

Guess we dunno for sure what part of the t-word Eric is in yet though, because we dunno how mermaids age yet. Might be differently to humans, Anderson’s lived for 300 years, so if Once mermaids are similar, (or even if it’s just the NL factor that lets you live indefinitely) she coulda been around for a long time, and her scenes with both Eric and Rumple may be from a couple centuries before the time of Snow & Co.

I’m super excited for the show to come back in less than a week, but a little bit miserable that we’ve gotta wait another whole month to find out the mysteries of how Ariel fits in. Here’s hoping my sanity holds out that long. 😛

Wonder if maybe they’re gonna take this scene from Anderson’s and mash it up with the dinner scene from the movie?

She was very soon arrayed in costly robes of silk and muslin, and was the most beautiful creature in the palace; but she was dumb, and could neither speak nor sing.

Beautiful female slaves, dressed in silk and gold, stepped forward and sang before the prince and his royal parents: one sang better than all the others, and the prince clapped his hands and smiled at her. This was great sorrow to the little mermaid; she knew how much more sweetly she herself could sing once, and she thought, “Oh if he could only know that! I have given away my voice forever, to be with him.”

The slaves next performed some pretty fairy-like dances, to the sound of beautiful music. Then the little mermaid raised her lovely white arms, stood on the tips of her toes, and glided over the floor, and danced as no one yet had been able to dance. At each moment her beauty became more revealed, and her expressive eyes appealed more directly to the heart than the songs of the slaves. Every one was enchanted, especially the prince, who called her his little foundling; and she danced again quite readily, to please him, though each time her foot touched the floor it seemed as if she trod on sharp knives.

We know we’re getting a ball on the show, but there’s no such scene in Disney, but the Anderson scene is talking about a gathering of people with the royal family present, which is what a ball is, (Anderson’s scene isn’t actually a ball, but I’m just saying, there are folks gathered for a royal party of some sort). We know we’re getting a dinner on the show, and it looks like in the background of that pic there might be a table. So I’m thinking the ball is maybe a sit down dinner affair, followed by dancing, and maybe some performances, (to resemble the Anderson scene) in between.
