ParticipantSo there you go. Some interesting answers from JMo and Colin–even bringing up Neal for a CS question in general.
I’m so torn between feeling vindicated, and feeling heartbroken. But I do have to chuckle that the actors took it upon themselves to bring up Neal in answer to a question about CS being meant to be.
Most still heated due to their last showdown with Yvette.
And because she’s been there done that before with the (few bad apples in the) SQ fandom, she should have known better than to tweet a hashtag that she HAD to have known they’d interpret as being a smackdown, (especially when she’s known to be a CS shipper herself). Then she tried backtracking, saying time and again that, “NO ship is canon,” which is a complete load of NONSENSE (for want of a stronger word), because PLENTY of ships are canon, so I dunno where she’s pulling that logic from, and insisting on it isn’t making her argument any more palatable to me.
But quick question that’s besides the point….was MRJ’s Sons of Liberty like a mini series? Because it says it continues tomorrow….
Yes, it was a 3 part miniseries.

ParticipantSo Jmo Said a thing? Trust me. It was talked about while we did our thing
What’d she say???
According to clarkegrfin who attended the panel, Jennifer spent a while going on about how Neal. She basically said that Neal was Emma’s true love and how Emma had to accept his choices and see why he made his decision to leave her. Jennifer said that Emma really did love Neal and that she had to accept that she still loved him.

ParticipantMaybe Evanna is a code name.
For Morgan le Fay, who has many variants of her name, including Morganna.

ParticipantIt just seems wrong to have a character want to pursue a relationship with their murderer.
Yeah, I just could not in good conscience want Neal to have any sort of sympathy for the person that was not only responsible for his death, but gets off on gloating about it. Just…no.
I’m in the camp who believes that MRJ has moved on career wise, and likely wouldn’t want to go back for a second round of potentially having his character screwed over by A&E. He put alot of consideration and heart into how he portrayed Neal, and the writers were all, “Yeah thanks dude, soz but we’re just gonna toss your hard work in the trash now coz we’re totes done with Neal.” I imagine that’s gotta be a pretty disappointing thing for an actor to experience.
In a perfect world, would I love them to find a way to bring Neal back and fix their story that they so spectacularly screwed up? Yes, of course. But in reality, I just think they went a bridge too far, then they burned the bridge, and there’s nothing left but a gaping chasm that can’t be traversed again.

ParticipantI don’t think Zelena has done anything so unseemly that no one in town would trust her if she was trying to bargain with them. No one had any reason to believe Rumple, Regina, or Hook at one point in the past, but they still did. Trust has to be earned and by making Bex a regular now they have the space to work on that trust.
Well, I do have issues to varying degrees on how people have trusted all those characters at varying points in the story. And I feel like anyone trusting Zelena, when she’s very recently held Rumple hostage and abused him, she gets off on gloating about being responsible for Neal’s death, and she fooled them all into thinking she was Marian then raped Robin to make a baby which she then used to torment Regina, that’s just pushing it beyond my personal suspension of disbelief if anyone in town has any time or consideration for her at all.
Even if they jump a few months by the time S5 starts, IMO that’s nowhere near a type of situation where anyone should be even remotely trusting her, or being willing to bargain with or work with her yet. We’ve had four seasons, and while I enjoy moments when Emma and Regina can work together now, I do still also feel uneasy about it sometimes, given Regina’s history with that family. So if they have characters giving Zelena the benefit of the doubt by the time S5 starts, and they’re therefore asking me as a viewer to also give her the benefit of the doubt already, that just ain’t gonna happen, and all it’s gonna do is make me even more annoyed with her character, (and everyone else’s characters), than I have been already.

ParticipantI can see a lot of possibilities to use Zelena outside of the baby scenario. She is an extremely powerful witch with a lot of knowledge. She is an instant information source and can wield that information to gain more and more freedom within Storybrooke. She could become a Rumple-type character.
If anyone trusts Zelena to the point of allowing her to assist with anything, or they allow her any sort of freedom, I’ll roll my eyes right out of my head. There is no way that anyone in town should trust her, ever, at all.

ParticipantWhen I first read this article, I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry that NOW they have a Latina-specific casting call for a character. But I digress.
Wonder if they’re gonna make Merlin a relative of Lancelot?
Sounds like Arthur’s gonna be kind of unlikeable. Too bad they used up Sebastian Roche already, because he might have been great in that role, (if a little bit older than they seem to be wanting to go with for Arthur).
Katrina Law….I’d highly vote Katrina Law!!!
I’d vote for Katrina Law remaining available to be on Arrow.

ParticipantWe’re gonna get to see the witch (for want of a rhyming word) who killed our Neal on a regular basis now. OH SO MUCH JOY. *FLIPPING ALL THE TABLES*

ParticipantSean getting promoted is no surprise. I may not personally get the huge appeal of Robin, or of OQ, but with the amount of focus and screentime he was getting, it was stupid that he wasn’t main cast already.
But really with Zelena? How are they even going to use her, apart from scenes with the baby? It’s not like they can trust her to help out with magical catastrophes and integrate her into the story that way. I hope she gets about as much screentime as Belle and Will do, and they only upped her to main cast so they have a tighter hold on Bex to prevent potential scheduling problems for the few times they’ll want to use her.
When they already have main cast in Belle, Will, even Hook recently, who they give next to nothing for them to do, it confounds me why they insist on enlarging the main cast. They have so many side characters who long time viewers would love to see get more of a role, but it seems like they keep getting further and further away from having room for them at all. I daresay if you polled the fandom and asked who they’d like to see more of, Zelena or Granny, the response would be resounding. Instead the show is falling into a pit of “Granny who?” (Replace “Granny” with any number of characters who used to actually be seen on a semi-regular basis and who used to actually matter.) This show has become too freaking bloated.
