LOVE this as the title for Hook’s ep! Bet we’re gonna see in flashback who said it to him, causing him to adopt the phrase for himself.
I’ve recently been liking the theory that they’ll go with a Dread Pirate Roberts thing for how he became a pirate. Taken prisoner by a pirate Captain, and then became his apprentice. I could imagine such a pirate to be fighting YoungKillian and be impressed by his “good form” and that’s why he doesn’t kill him and instead makes him a member of his crew.
As for the key, the one in the photo may be the one with the apple, but all the other keys on that keyring have SKULLS on them, which is totally piratey, Hook even wears a skull pendant.

OMG, I recently posted that they should cast Alyssa if they plan to have Ariel’s mother in flashbacks, and I’ll die if it actually happens! 😆 Seriously, who better than the person the animator based Ariel’s face on, to be cast to play Ariel’s mother.
She hasn’t tweeted anything about being in Vancouver has she? Because I’ve also speculated that Ariel’s mother may have been the mermaid who helped Rumple get the squid ink.
OK, just checked her timeline and she tweeted on the 11th that she was on family vacay for 2 weeks, so that probably rules out the possibility of her filming for 304. Oh well, it was a fun idea for the 2 minutes it lasted. 😛

Last night while I should have been falling asleep, I was instead trying to lock in some Hookriel headcanon, because it’s all over the place right now. LOL
Like AtlanticaDream, I’ve had it in my head for a while that they first met when they were younger. (Though I’ve imagined that that “meeting” was just long enough for her to save him from drowning, and he was mostly unconscious so never even got a good look at her.) If he’s been in NL, and mermaids age at a different rate and can live for a few 100 years, she could have been in FTL up until the events of Skin Deep and a mid-30s actor would fit for present day.
The other day I posted that perhaps she’d gone off exploring when she was younger and had gotten herself to FTL but was trapped there. For a while now I’ve thought that if she was in FTL, she could have overheard some humans talking about the legend of Captain Killian Jones and how rumour had it he’d gone to NL. She’d have assumed him long dead by then because humans don’t live as long as merfolk, but suddenly she’d have hope that he was alive, and she’d be motivated to find a way back home to NL and to Killian.
So, last night when I was putting this together in my head and coming up with some more crack to add to the theory, I thought that perhaps she’d heard about how the EQ had a way to jump between realms. Now admittedly, I have yet to check Skin Deep and Hat Trick against the t-word, and that could potentially throw off my theory, because I’m banking on Regina having Jefferson’s hat.
Anyway, I imagined Ariel swimming up to that shoreline near Regina’s castle, and asking for help. Regina can help with the realm jumping, no worries because she has the hat, but can’t help with the transformation to a human, because by that time, she could only transform the colour of a strand of her hair. But she knows that Rumple could help with that bit, and like KFC said, she could do with an excuse to go see him to rub Belle in his face. But even if he doesn’t help her with the mermaid thing, it’s no great loss to Regina.
So Rumple says he can make a potion for the mermaid to become human, but in return, he wants her voice, (because mermaids have beautiful, magical voices, so it’s a handy thing to have in his collection of magical stuff). Either he’s already shown Regina how to take someone’s tongue, or he teaches her then and there.
Regina goes back to Ariel, who’s waiting on a rock near the shoreline. She gives her the potion, takes her tongue, then throws down the hat and tells her that once she gets in there, she just has to go through the door that looks like water and she’ll be home. Ariel jumps down off the rock, into the hat, and heads back to NL.
Once there, she swims up to the JR and clings to the side to have a peek, and she sees Killian. (Would mirror the scene from the movie.)
She goes back to see her family one last time, and her father, though happy to see her, scolds her for having run off by herself so many years ago. Without her voice, Ariel can’t explain that she’d been trapped in another world and had only now found a way to get back.
She swims to shore, drinks the potion, gets her legs, and finds a stray sail from a shipwreck to wrap around herself. Then just after that happens, Hook is standing on deck with his little telescope and spots her, and orders the crew to lower the rowboat so he can go ashore to pick her up, because he knows that NL is no safe place for a pretty, young, nearly naked lady to be running around on her own.
I think this is officially my new headcanon. For at least the next 5 minutes. Until I change my mind yet again. 😛
“I don’t need you never have,” says Rumple to his long lost older brother, who had offered him a place to live in NL as a boy, but he rejected it. It doesn’t matter if Rumple isn’t “going to live” through this, he still doesn’t feel the need to side with PP. 😛

Thanks, RG. 🙂 It’s a tad emo, but I like how he lost his hand and she lost her tail, and he’s got a broken heart and she’s got a broken voice. They can help put each other back together. 😉
I predict Emma’s story won’t come into play until the end of the first half of the season. Like episode 9 or 10 when they finally rescue Henry. The like parallels. Emma rescuing Henry play nicely with a flashback of her past to giving him up.

I felt the need to make a thing to celebrate our Ariel officially having an identity now. Finally decided to stop messing around with it and call it done…
This pretty much confirms that “Devin” is indeed currently a Lost Boy in present-day NL.
Yep, sounds like it. Also, if he’s “often overlooked” that could potentially play into the theory that he could turn on PP and help the JR6, because his defection would likely go unnoticed.
But in all seriousness, I could see Ariel going to the sea witch’s cave and finding Regina standing in a mirror in all her evil queen glory

I’d love for them to have Killian and Ariel meet back when they were younger. Anderson wrote that mermaids can live to be 300, and Killian was alive about 300 years ago. Coincidence? Maybe. But maybe not?
