ParticipantThe only thing though…I wish having the ink spilled on her could have had more of an effect on Cruella rather than just turning her hair color. Like that’s the magic ink that writes/rewrites history and all it does is change her hair…seriously???
In the earlier scene, when he was all, “Who knows what might happen if it spilled,” I imagined something disasterous would result, because the quill guides the ink to give order to the story, so surely if the ink spilled then chaos could ensue or something? But nope, apparently it just resulted in a makeover.
Yes, I enjoyed the twist. It was something different, and it was refreshing! But also very confusing. The apprentice said that we are all born clean slates. Well, Cruella was not. I am very confused by the world/concept building right now.
Yeah it’s quite contradictory. They could have fixed it with a line from her mother about how she hadn’t been the same since some traumatic event when she was a very young child, and she regrets not having been able to help her. But they didn’t, instead we just got psycho first degree murderer child and “nothing can fix her”. Refreshing is a good word for that deviation from the norm, (I’m at the point where I wanna tear out my hair whenever someone says “evil isn’t born, it’s made” in an interview), but yeah, contradictory to what they said a couple of eps ago.
Cruella’s name suggests that her mother always wanted her to be that way.
I admit to wondering what sort of person would seriously name their daughter Cruella. I mean, really? Almost wish her real name had been something else, and she named herself Cruella because she thought it suited her better.
Its a subtle change but it changed her hair and voice it seems.
I noticed her voice change first in the jazz club scene, when he was revealing that he had magic. I can’t remember the exact line, but there was one moment when she said something and it had that deep, gravelly tone and I was all, “Oh hai Cruella!”

ParticipantAll of the flashbacks were pretty great, I enjoyed them a lot, it was a satisfying story…
But every time it cut to present day, I sank back in my seat and lost interest…
Unless it was a present day scene with Cruella, because she’s totally entertaining…
So of course they killed her off.

Participantif you were hired by ABC today and told to do whatever it takes to bring ONCE’s rating’s up what would you do?
Open a time portal, go back to the end of 3A, and have a do-over.
One of the major things wrong with the show is how PLOT-tastic it became, instead of being about the actual characters. People tune into a show week after week because they care about and become attached to the characters. Without that connection, why should viewers give a crap what PLOT the characters get thrust into? And why should viewers give a crap about what’s happening as part of any given PLOT if the events aren’t going to resonate with the characters in any lasting way to make them grow? If I think back to some things that happened in NL, like the scenes between Emma and Snow for example, that stuff was wonderful in the moment, but looking back now I wonder why I even cared because it’s not like they kept digging into the guts of that relationship so we could see it grow and change in an organic way to get to where they are now. Whatever’s happening now, I know it won’t matter come next half season, because the writers will have just hit reset and moved onto the next PLOT. So what’s the point in viewers being invested enough to tune in on a regular basis? And I don’t know how they could rectify things by picking up from here on in and focusing on the characters more in a believable way, when so many moments and opportunities for character development have been and gone.
So, yeah, time portal and do-over seems like the only workable option IMO.

ParticipantBut she mentioned both times for the exact same reason: to flesh out Will as having someone significant in his life pre-Ana and pre-Alice. Both times it was the exact same story: she fell through the ice and drowned, and it serves to show that Will has lost someone and it affected him. Both times it reads like only a story to serve Will, not a larger plot.
That. I think the only reason she’s been mentioned twice is to fill in people who didn’t watch WL.
Penelope is also a Dryad and mother of the god Pan in Greek mythology.
Will’s sister is Rumple’s grandma, CONFIRMED. 😛

ParticipantRIP Roy/Thea Ship!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All that’s left on Arrow now is Olicity….
At least Olicity will be getting it on in the next ep, so that’s one ship they’re not killing off right now.
Neal Cassidy is better than everyone on this show.

ParticipantSoooo, immediately upon landing in our world, they figured out where they were and that they’d need the dragon shell magic to keep them young because…reasons?
I did like Cruella using her magic on Maleficent. Cruella has been so much more fun than I’d anticipated.

ParticipantYa know how a few weeks back one of my ships on Arrow got sunk when one of them “died”. This week on Arrow another of my ships sunk…and they’d just recently got back together too…but then he fake died and had to leave town because he couldn’t be seen by everyone when he was meant to be dead…and she’s currently almost dead and will actually die but will be brought back to life but probably will be an unhinged version of herself…so that ship was basically blown to pieces. Stupid show! Never shipping again!

ParticipantI get the feeling that the Joker is someone the writers want to explore more in season two (which is a definite). So probably then, we might get introduced to our future Harley Quinn.
Provided the higher ups at DC will let them use those characters at this time. They wanted to use Harley on Arrow, but were told no, because DC/WB had plans for Harley in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. So there’s a chance they won’t be allowed to show a conclusive Joker on Gotham until after the movie has been and gone, because Joker’s gonna be in the movie too. [conspiracy theory]They recently “killed off” (no body shown) Deadshot on Arrow, and effectively disbanded the show’s version of the Suicide Squad of which he was the main member, and then the agent who typically leads missions for the Squad quit her job. General belief in the fandom is that this was done because of the upcoming Suicide Squad movie, which will star Will Smith in the role of Deadshot. Basically, it seems they don’t want competing versions of the Squad and its related characters on TV at the same time the movie is being hyped. The showrunner said that Deadshot was, “off the table for the nonce”, which sounds like they were instructed to (at least temporarily) remove him from their list of available characters.[/conspiracy theory]
FIIIISSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its too soon too soon
I hope this won’t be how they kill her off. An intense character like Fish needs to go out in a blaze of glory, not bleed out slowly.
I like the Ogre, they’ve set him up as a formidable villain to finish out the season with.
BabyBatCat are precious and I love seeing them team up.

ParticipantWibbly-Wobbly Timey-Wimey. Was Alice fascinated by the lightswitch, or was that just Cyrus?
I think Alice might have been fascinated with the fridge while Cyrus was flipping the lightswitch?

ParticipantBut, how much do you want to bet that the CSers are going to stop insisting that Neal’s responsible for his own death? Me? I’m bettin’ against it.
Neal haters have been hating him for reasons unsupported by canon since the getgo. That will never change.
Here’s a question: if Rumple does die (which seems increasingly likely with every passing episode) do you think we’ll see him reunite with Bae?
The way Rumple’s been acting, I kinda hope not, because right now he doesn’t exactly deserve a family reunion, even in the afterlife.
