About the only compelling moment was when “Hook” turned to look at Belle when she commanded Rumple to face her. The expression Colin used was quite chilling.

About the only thing I really care about is August being back, because I didn’t realise just how much I’d missed him, so I’m looking forward to next week to see more from him.

Am I missing something with the logic of the game of chicken with the train? They were testing Regina to see if she was bad, right? And Cruella said, “First one that saves us, loses.” Sooooo, if Regina passed the test and proved herself to be a bdagirl by not saving them, they’d all be crushed by the train? Which would accomplish what exactly if Regina proves herself to be on their side but they all end up dead? Seriously, am I missing something or does this make no sense? What would have made sense is if they’d confined Regina to the train tracks and made her destroy the train and everyone on it in order to save herself, thus proving she’s still willing to make others suffer so she can win.

Nitpick – Has no one thought to just flip the freaking page over and see what’s on the back of the pic of the door? Even if it’s another illustration instead of text, surely it could still offer some clue, instead of going over the same door pic time and time again? The pages are double sided. That door pic was used to illustrate a story. There should be more of the story on the other side of the page. Or even flip through the book to figure out where the page is missing from and look for clues in the surrounding pages? GAH!

I actually kind of enjoyed the over the top-ness of Emo!Maleficent. But I have to question whether stoned Maleficent, complete with her being shown actually shooting up, is really appropriate considering they keep wanting us to think this is a “family show”?

King Stefan was woefully underwhelming. That’s all we get of him? Really?

I’m gonna go back to referring to the timeline as the t-word, because thinking about the apparent inconsistencies of it makes me want to flip tables.

Belle wilfully giving Rumple’s Dagger to someone she believes is his mortal enemy is…something I can’t accurately convey my thoughts on without using multiple expletives.

Belle saying that Will is, “Nothing more than who he says he is,” gives me hope for my theory that Will’s only with her so he can snoop in the shop for a way to get himself back to Ana in WL.

-half a point lost for the co-ordination of Hook becoming Rumple again. Before the poof, Hook had an evil grin. After the poof, Rumple was frowning contemplatively. A smoother transition would have been 1) Hook’s evil grin 2) Poof 3) Rumple’s evil grin 4) Rumple’s frown.

That was really jarring. And it’s such a simple thing that should have been picked up on when they were shooting. I’m no pro when it comes to this stuff, but I’d imagine it’s a basic rule that if you’re shooting a thing where one person turns into another one, the second person steps in to assume the exact same posture and expression as the first one, so it’s a seamless and believable transition?

I am wondering who the old man in the carriage was.Could he be the sorcerer or the author?

I think in the press release he was just listed as, “Visiting Duke”, or something like that? I think he was just a convenient plot device.

So there are several obvious clues that August either knew the author, or at least knew something about who they are. He added his story to the book, he knew that Neal was Baelfire, and he traveled around with a typewriter.

Someone refresh my memory because I haven’t re-watched in forever, but did Emma mention the Book to August, or did he already seem to know about it? I wanna say she mentioned it to him, (at the well maybe?), but I also think I might just be getting August mixed up with Graham? Or did Henry tell August about the Book before it “disappeared”?

I could see it if August knew nothing about the Book before coming to town, it’s just once he got there, heard about it, got it, then read through it looking for clues about who had created it, because maybe they could answer some questions for him about who had sent him the information about Neal being Bae. Maybe a similar Book had materialised for August, but it was a shorter book, that just had Nealfire’s story (both in FTL and in our world), and also a story about the creation of SB, which is how August knew where to look for SB, and how to track down Neal. Maybe the page with “Author?” on it isn’t even from Henry’s Book, maybe it’s from August’s own Book?

Those rewrites. Oh my gosh. Its amazing how things make so much more sense when they are how as was intended from the beginning. He really is the missing piece. W/o the connection, Hook is just some Joe Schmoe whose lines could be said by obscure townsperson #3….

    Quote

You mean like how in that Sneak Peek when they come into the library to meet Regina, Hook’s standing in the background FOR NO REASON other than they wanted his face on camera even though he has NOTHING TO CONTRIBUTE to the situation. Like, I wanna laugh because it’s so blatant that he’s unnecessary, but I want to cry because THIS is what they sacrificed the integrity of their story for.

Sharing here because I know you all get it.  It’s about this answer given by A&E.

All of what you said. ALL OF THAT!!

In order to believe that Rumple would never even attempt to bring back Nealfire, then I have to ignore every single thing I know about him.–a man who ruthlessly moved worlds to find his child, no matter the cost. Yeah, THAT was Rumple. This guy on my screen now? He’s Not!

Yup. But Rumple being willing to destroy a world in order to find his son was only the basis for the whole fricking story, so it’s no biggie if they just pretend it was never even a thing.

    Unforgiven Rewrite: Sheriff’s Office Scene

Emma:*waiting for computer program to load*
Neal:*knocks on the already open office door carryout bag in hand* Grilled cheese, just the way you like it.
    Emma:*smiling* Fries?
Neal:*scoffs* I think I know you better than that. Onion rings.
Emma:You passed the test. *she sets the bag down and takes Neal’s hand instead* Neal, I think I’m gonna need your help.
Neal:Too much fried food for one person? I guess I can help you out.
Emma:It’s not that. Regina’s trying to see what Pinocchio knows about Henry’s book and the Author. She wants me to talk to him because I knew him as an adult and I thought maybe you could come too since you had dealings with him.
Neal:Emma, you know how I feel about Operation Mongoose. As someone who’s made my more than my fair share of mistakes I feel like we’re in charge of our own happy ending.
Emma:Are you sure it’s not because you blame August for what happened, for driving you away?
Neal:I was angry for a long time, but mostly at myself. I ruined our lives when I left. I took control of your fate when I should have told you what I knew and let you take over from there.
Emma:That’s just it, Neal. What if this Author person has been pulling all our strings this whole time? All Regina wants is to make her own happy ending.
Neal:I still think Regina needs to take some responsibility for her actions before she worries about a happily ever after, but if it’s important to you I’ll be there.
Emma:Thank you. I just have to show some evidence to David and then-
Neal:*cutting Emma off* Have some lunch first, the world’s not gonna end if you have a hot meal.
Emma:*tentatively* Would you like to join me?
    Neal:I don’t mind if I do.

Darkness at the Edge of Town Rewrite: The Library Scene
Neal:*wordlessly passes Belle a styrofoam coffee cup as she flits past him on her way to the library’s woefully outdated computer*
Belle:*speaking over the sound of the outdated computer humming to life* How was breakfast with Emma?
Neal:We miss Henry when he’s with Regina, but it’s nice when it’s just the two of us. We’re taking things slow. It’s… nice.
Belle:I rather think things are progressing too slow if you’re reduced to using the word nice more than once.
Neal:*teasingly* Are you in that much of a hurry to have more grandchildren?
    Belle:*cringes*
    Neal:I’m sorry Belle. I didn’t think.
Belle:No, you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s still so hard to believe that I allowed him to get away with all this. *gesturing to the easels covered with pictures and notes about the sorcerer’s hat and the elusive Yen Sid*
Neal:Belle you can’t blame yourself for the things my father did. It’s good of you to try and clean up his mess.
Belle:He was lying to me the whole time Neal. You know I… I should have been able to see through him.
Neal:I wasn’t paying attention either Belle. I just wanted to believe that he had changed.
Belle:We were blinded by love and he used it like a weapon, as dangerous and persuasive as his magic.
Neal:Hey. As big a bastard as Papa can be he did love you. No matter what he still loves us both. We just can’t let him be near temptation anymore.
Belle:I hope someday he’ll find what he’s looking for. *clears throat* We need to get back to work freeing the fairies. These translations are difficult, but I’ve reached out to some of the finest minds in the world, and one of them will get back to us. I know it.

KITSIS: It does not, because unfortunately Baelfire is no longer with us.

Translation: MRJ is far too busy and booked a role in a new show. Not that we had plans to use him again anyway, (because as if it makes sense that Rumple would try to bring his son back to life after spending centuries trying to find him so they could have a life together in the first place), but now it really is just a logistical impossibility to bring him back. *shrug* lolz

Just did a quick google and found that hawks and eagles can also be predators of cobras. How much better does “Operation Eagle” sound.

I need to go grocery shopping big time.  I have the catastrophe of having no peanut butter in the house.

I got a new jar of peanut butter the other day. Then I saw an ad on TV that they have a new range including cashew butter and now I need a jar of that like I need air!

As for the new spoilers, if anyone needs me, I’ll be off flipping tables.

I still can’t get over how stupid “Operation Mongoose” sounds. Yes, I get it, natural enemy of the Cobra, though that in itself makes it weird seeing Emma be all, “YAY GO TEAM MONGOOSE” considering it was named specifically because it was a revenge challenge name because Regina’s resentful over Operation Cobra which was a thing Emma bonded with Henry over. But even all that aside, how is a silly sounding word like “mongoose” supposed to be taken seriously and how is “Operation Mongoose” meant to be said with a straight face?

Maybe the Author, aggravated that no one is appreciating his writing, is erasing everyone from the book.

Frankly, who could blame him at this point. 😛

Will Henry have to re-write the Book in order to get everyone back?
