The guy in the pic does look SO familiar though! Can’t put my finger on it!

He reminds me of the guy who plays Liam Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful. That’s not who it actually is, but now that I’ve got that idea wedged in my brain, there’s no way I can figure out who else he looks like. Interesting that there was no casting announcement. Maybe they wanna keep this character’s ID under wraps for a bit longer if he’s gonna be someone major like Robin Hood?

I’m one of about 5 people on the planet who has never seen Wicked, and have also never read the books. So I just gave myself a crash course in Elphaba on wikipedia, (how did we survive before wikipedia?).

    @SpinningGold wrote:

1 Greg Mendel: Yes, famous bean scientist… But also Gregory Maguire is the writer of the Wicked books. Yes there are several. More of that later. Idina Menzel (Mendel, Menzel) won a Tony for her portrayal of Elphaba.

They set a precedent by giving Frankenstein the name of the director of the movie, so it’s entirely possible that there’s a link between names of writers and actresses too.

2 In the Wizard of Oz, Elphaba has no name. So that would be … HER

Wikipedia says that there was a “she” mentioned in Wicked…

Further evidence of the possible resurrection of Elphaba were brought to light towards the end of the 2008 novel A Lion Among Men (the third book in the series), when the character of Yackle (Yackle was always present in Elphaba’s life in various forms, whether Elphaba was aware of it or not) is about to die. Before she does, she seems to have a realization of some sort and says “of course- she’s coming back. Don’t you understand, she’s coming back!” However, the identity of the ‘she’ to whom Yackle was referring remains ambiguous, as she dies before she can make herself understood. Many fans of the series think that she was talking about Elphaba, while others believe she may have been talking about the long-lost Ozma.

    Regarding Ozma: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Ozma

3 In the hospital, behind Belle as she gets her book from Ruby and later as Greg tells her he believes her, there is a poster of a Lion, with the word PROUD under it. First I thought it was connected to Belle. But one of the Wicked books is titles “A Lion among Men” (There is also a poster of Germ Theory that looked quite outta place, but I can’t place that yet. So ideas are welcome)

The way they set up the shot, with Greg standing between the posters, seemed very deliberate. It’s not really random for there to be a Germ Theory poster in a hospital, a place where they have strict hygiene practices to prevent the spread of germs. There was a pic of whathisname who pioneered germ theory research on that poster, so I took that as a nod to how Greg Mendel was also a pioneer in his field of research, which is a nod towards Greg’s name being somehow significant to his role in the show. The lion poster seemed really random for a hospital, so I believe it must have been deliberate. It immediately made me think of the Cowardly Lion, who became brave and proud after meeting the Wizard.

4 Henry said: “Who knows what other creatures from other Faity tale lands were taken away and walking around in Storybrook.” But let’s change that theory a bit. What if another world was pulled with FTL… OZ. Or a similar thing happened there.

We haven’t had confirmation that the curse affected other worlds yet. Whale got pulled from his world, and Jefferson likely got pulled out of Wonderland, but I don’t think we’ve seen any indication that those whole worlds were touched by the curse. In the case of Oz, if they stick to the traditional theme of Dorothy and the Wizard both having been from our world, and coming back here, then they wouldn’t need the curse to explain how they, or anyone else, could have ended up in our world in the present day, as Greg and Her.

The first picture on Greg Mendel’s phone is from StoryBook Forrest, Pennsylvania.

Do you mean the pic of him with the statue? That’s a statue that’s in Steveston, the town where they film the show.

He made calls to Pennsylvnia, and his license plates are from Pensylvania. Rumpel brought magic to Storybrook (which might be why no one can leave without losing their memory, he might have reinstated the curse doing so) But OZ would be without magic in our world. FInding a place with magic, I think they would like some too.

This is one of the reasons why it fits for him to be the Wizard IMO. He was a real world guy who was a master of illusion and lived for a time in a magical land. It makes sense to me that such a person would seek out a place like SB and be excited to have found it.

Later she truly turns wicked because she is depressed and frustrated that she could not save Fiyero, decides that “no good deed goes unpunished” and vows never to do another good deed.

Is it just me or does this sound like “No good comes from magic”

Sounds to me like Regina’s current state of mind.

Doesn’t look like John Pyper-Ferguson to me. This guy looks younger than him.

If he was shooting with Emilie and Robert, then I’d guess he’s Robin Hood, considering we’re expecting to see him stealing magic from Rumple in flashbacks this ep.

I was just thinking- wouldn’t it be fun if there was an episode that included a scene in which we got to see a character watching his or her equivalent Disney movie on video and commenting on it?

I wonder what the characters would think of their movies! I imagine they’d be like “That isn’t *quite* how that really happened!”

No lie, I was thinking about this exact thing last night! It’d be so fun. 😆

If Neal is Peter Pan I’d really love to see him commenting, “Where did they come up with this green tights crap?”

Yes! If he’s Pan, I need to see him, Hook and Rumple sitting down to watch “their” movie. They’d each have a big bowl of popcorn and would be throwing it at the screen, yelling stuff like, “I was never an ACTUAL crocodile!!”

Even if this could never be incorporated into an ep, they could still do it as a little bonus thing, like when they made that dating video. Adam and Eddy, if you’re reading this, make it happen!!!

I’ve really been trying to stick with giving Regina the benefit of the doubt when it comes to how she’s been dealing with Cora, hoping that she’s been playing her, but alas with comments like these, it really does seem that I’m never destined to be an EvilRegal.

It seems like a casual encounter, the way Emma’s sitting crossed legged, there’s nothing confrontational about her body language, so yeah, I’d think that Regina probably isn’t still in league with Cora, which hopefully means the witch is dead.

I just saw a clip from next week where Neal is trying to tell Emma something. I think he is trying to tell her he is either in another relationship or married. Thoughts?

Yes, it’s been revealed that the new Tamara character will be his fiancee.

My first thought was Alice or Wendy. If they’re doing a Mad Hatter spin off they need a backdoor pilot and this could be it. So I’ll say Alice.

Yep I’m going Alice. The articles about the Hatter spinoff said they’d have to re-cast for an ep this season, and they’re running out of eps that could be Hatter-centric, and now they’re casting for a “compassionate, mischievous, and somewhat naive” British girl. Gotta be Alice.

If Hook needs someone to nurse him back to health…I know nothing about nursing, but am volunteering my services anyway. 😉 Someone needs to make a fanvid to that Tubthumping song with all the clips of Hook getting knocked down, and getting up again, (they’re never gonna keep him down). 😛

As much as I want to see Nealfire also be Peter Pan, I’m beginning to think its more likely that Nealfire was a Lost Boy. It really makes sense considering the way he lost his father.

But here’s hoping he’s Pan the Man!

Quite a few people think he’ll either be Pan or nothing, but I could see him potentially being just a Lost Boy, though I think Pan would be more epic. Given that they’ve said that Pan is their fave character, it’d make sense to have a child of Bae’s significance be given the role of being the creators’ fave character. My main thing has been thinking Bae went to Neverland since the moment we saw him go down the beanhole, and that’s looking all but confirmed now, so as long as it is, I don’t mind if they go all the way and make him Pan, or just make him a Lost Boy. Either works for me. I get a little chill each time I watch the sneak peek and he looks over at Hook. I need to see a conversation between them, like, RIGHT NOW, so I can over analyse the crap out of it.

So many thoughts about this clip!
    1. Henry tries to call Mr. Gold grandpa, but gets rejected. 😕
    2. Neal said he has more going on in NYC than Emma thought and “it’s complicated.” He’s engaged! Ahhhh!
    3. Killian just dug his hook into Rumple!
    4. Emma just knocked Hook unconscious with an umbrella holder.
    5. Neal knows Hook!
    6. Neal called Mr. Gold “Papa’! 😥

All of this! Even though I knew it was coming, I still gasped when Hook burst in like that. 😮

Had suspected that maybe Rumple’s “call me whatever you like” line might have been less than sweet. Don’t forget, he thinks this kid is gonna be his “undoing” so it’s not a simple case of, “awww I have a grandson,” for him.

Was trying to read into Nealfire(Pan?)’s reaction to Hook, but there’s not much there yet.
