5 & 1 are gonna be linked IMO. Regina has the box with Cora’s heart in it and gets stabby or squeezy, and Cora dies.

The “hero making a villain move” has gotta be Blue. It even makes reference to “evil villains dressed in black”. Who’s dressed more sweetly and innocently than Blue Fairy/Mother Superior?

I’ve thought that he’s just been hiding out in SB, likely at the convent with Blue. He may have feared Rumple. If he expected Nealfire to be coming to town, he may have been wary of what his reaction to him would be. Nealfire’s presence in town would also likely cause Emma to be hating on August for having broken them up. He was certainly ashamed to be face to face with his father now that Geppetto remembered everything and knew that that guy who had been working with him, who hadn’t done his father proud, was his son. So I think there’s ample reason for him to have fled to the one person who already knew all of his secrets and hadn’t disowned him: Blue.

Like SpinningGold said, there is an upcoming ep where we’ll finally be getting some August answers. We don’t have spoilers confirming where he’s been all season, but we do know that something significant will happen concerning him.

As for the question of how August knew about Bae, there’s a whole thread discussing that here: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=2941 🙂

Isn’t part of the reason they’re thinking about recasting Jefferson, besides the spin off, because Jefferson is required for some important scenes in later episodes this season and Sebastian Stan wasn’t available?

The impression I got from the article was that Sebastian wouldn’t be able to commit to the spinoff, so they wanted to recast Jefferson for an appearance at the end of this season, so that then that actor will have been introduced on Once, before they throw him into being the lead of the spinoff. I didn’t get the impression that Sebastian wouldn’t be available to shoot an ep for the end of season 2, it’s just that they’re planning long term, and if they wanna get a Hatter pilot done by next season, they’ve gotta change the Hatter’s face before the end of this season.

So if Snow doesn’t celebrate her birthday, that must be the day her mother died, right? And if it turns out that Johanna dies in SB, that’ll probably be on Snow’s birthday too? How depressing. 🙁

Did a quick google for the names Nealfire mentioned, just in case they were actual places in some specific story. There’s a race of Demerians in Star Trek and a place called Zorm mentioned in the Dungeons and Dragons animated series. There’s also a Xorn in D&D, which is a monstery type thing.

Anyway, that was a nice little moment, with Nealfire remembering something about the old country with fondness. I’m glad not all of his memories of that place are bad. Henry must think it’s so cool to have a dad from FTL.

There’s something odd about the scene with Emma and Rumple, and after watching it about 5 times, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s that we’ve never seen Rumple sounding so…human. He’s not freaking out, there’s no mention of magic, he’s not being manipulative. He’s just a guy who’s accepted he’s in a tough situation and he’s genuinely asking Emma for help, and offering advice.

Also, is it just me or is JMo’s hair looking exceptionally blonde in that clip? Distractingly so.

Who knows why VanCityFilming RT it, but it’s just a screencap from Stable Boy that was tweeted by a fan.

It’s interesting that they gave the dagger a specific name. A kris is a wavy bladed dagger from SouthEast Asia. Makes me wonder if we’ll get the history of the dagger at some point, and if it might somehow be tied up with Mulan’s sword, which can deflect magic. Two powerful blades, both from Asian cultures, surely that can’t be mere coincidence, right? I mean, they didn’t have to throw that word “kris” in there and thus officially make Rumple’s dagger of Asian origin, they could have just kept on calling it a dagger. I am suspicious.

Cora was actually madly in love with someone? With whom though? Rose says most of her scenes were with Robert Carlyle, so maybe Cora was madly in love with Rumple! Or maybe she means Cora was in love with someone else, like King George, but it ended horribly. I can’t wait for this episode! 😀

My money is on Cora having been in love with George and in lust with Rumple. Hussy. 😛

And that’s why my panic calmed down and I just kept thinking you couldn’t make him Bae, bring him back into her life, show this whole him barely able to look at her as he pointed to the keychain, a simple cheap keychain he stole and gave to her they both felt so overwhelmed by. Even I keep mentioning her hand clenched and unclenched over it, shook in this way as he pointed she had it on. I’m sorry but if it was really just there to remind her not to trust anyone, why such a reaction like he had caught her?

You just know that he totally stuck that keychain in his pocket when she went outside to call Snow, and one day we’ll see him give it back to her. 😉

In the traditional tale of Rumplestiltskin, the miller’s daughter had to guess the imp’s name to keep her first-born child. The title of this episode suggests the plot will at least follow that direction. Since Rumple has been around for centuries, it’s entirely possible that his name was lost to history by the time he met Cora. All of his contemporaries would have been dead for about 200 years (except for Smee and Hook, who were in a different realm). It’s possible that Rumple was only known as the “Dark One” when he introduced himself to Cora, and so she had to guess his name. That is why Cora scribbled his name in the back of her spell book. In 2×2, We Are Both, Regina reads the name in her mother’s book and summons Rumple by his name, after which he introduces himself to her. By the time Rumple meets Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Snow White, his real name was in wide circulation again.

Exactly. While it’s curious how well known his name was in the latter days of FTL, given tradionalRumple’s close guarding of his name, considering the timeline they’ve constructed, it’s totally believable that his name had been forgotten in the centuries leading up to the story with the Miller’s Daughter. I’d say it’d be very in character for Rumple to want to be known purely as “The Dark One”, considering that name could strike fear into people, but “Rumplestiltskin” was associated with a weak coward by all who had known him by that name. Makes sense that he’d want that name to die out and be forgotten. Perhaps part of the reason he wanted Cora pushed through the looking glass was because she’d had his name written down, and now someone else, (Regina) had found it out.
