I really really hope they don’t make Rumple turn out to be Regina’s father. I try not to be critical of the writers until we’ve seen a full season or know where a storyline is going, but I will be so disappointed if this turns out to be true for all the reasons everyone has already listed. It just doesn’t make any sense based on how Gold/Rumple has always treated her, and I don’t think it’s realistic for him to not realize she was his. He knows who her mother is and would know when they were together, so I don’t know how he could not at least think she might be his daughter if it were a possibility.
Agreed. If I thought it could be done in a believable way, I wouldn’t be so against it, but it just does not compute, given what we already know. If Regina’s bio-dad ends up being someone other than HenrySr, my money is on it being George.
Any relationship verging on a personal nature between Cora and Rumple, I’d imagine would be mostly instigated by her. If she had a lust for power, even back then, not only would she have found Rumple sexy as all hell, but she’d have been conniving enough to try and make him vulnerable and break down his defenses so she could tap into more of the power he held. I can’t see Rumple letting someone break all the way through his walls though. He couldn’t afford to let himself be vulnerable, because he had to remain focused on his mission to find Bae. So I dunno how believable I’d find it if Corumple ended up in bed together. I certainly think she’ll try, but can’t imagine him giving in.

Aww! 🙁
Right Phee- “Man up Regina !!” Sjees !. Well I guess we can’t really say strategic intelligence has ever been her thing.
No, it’s certainly not been her thing previously. 😆 I’ve never been on TeamRegina before, but am SO hoping she comes through this time.

ParticipantI’m HIGHLY intrigued by this Rumbelle moment where they’re not even in the same room. Sounds like the ep will be amazing!

I’ll lay odds that this is Cora’s last episode and this will be when Regina turn on her mother and destroys her.
Right there with you!

What I get out of that is that Barbara thinks it’s unimportant from the way Jane discussed it during their In the Name of the Brother interview (saying that it’s someone he coyly and affectionately clued into his phone). That doesn’t mean that Barbara is correct. It sounds like she completely missed Jane saying that we should expect it to be revealed. So without a direct quote from Jane Espenson I’m not taking someone else’s interpretation as absolute truth.
THIS! When I was listening to the 2nd BB podcast thingo, I was wondering if she’d been talking about a separate interview, because she was recalling Jane’s comments differently to how I’d remembered hearing them. BB also said that the final flashback in Manhattan would reveal who the real big bad is, and in actual fact…not so much…so I wouldn’t take her interpretations as gospel.

Also, Cora is supposed to be the Miller’s Daughter..what is that dress?! Humble beginning, remember!
I thought that at first too, but if you look at the little bit of the set behind them, it looks like a humble dwelling, so I’m thinking perhaps he magic-ed her into that fancy dress, like he did with Cinderella, to give her a taste of what he could offer her. That could well be what the “seductiveness” in the scene is all about, not that he’s seducing her romantically.

ParticipantThat dress looks fabulous.

I was thinking that perhaps the map was a fake, planted by Rumple to mislead anyone looking for the dagger. So, while Cora and Regina are on a wild goose chase, Snow and David manage to find it, perhaps even in the clock tower. Why else would they be in there?
Would it be too random to have the Charmings be the ones who planted the map, and the card in Belle’s bag? Is there any way they could have possibly known that Cora and Regina would be looking for it? It may explain why Snow is watching them, if she’s a lookout to make sure they’re keeping busy and out of the way, while Charming is off tracking down the dagger in its real location in the clock tower.
I’d love it if the map turned out to be a fake, because frankly, they found it WAY too easily.

Maybe I’m giving Regina too much credit, but I’m hoping that maybe she’s playing Cora at her own game until such time as she can take her out and protect the Charming family.
It’ll definitely drive her crazy that her son is a blood relation of Rumplefreakingstiltskin though.
Protect the Charming family? PFFT! She owes the Charmings nothing, especially after the way they have treated her throughout her “redemption”. Her love is solely for Henry, if it weren’t for him she would have probably wiped out the Charmings ages ago.
If she wants to genuinely win back Henry’s love, she needs to gain the trust of the Charmings, or she never has any hope with the kid. I’m hoping she’s intelligent enough to realise that Cora’s plan of killing them won’t actually help her get Henry back. If the character is ever going to start moving forward towards redemption again, it’s gonna take a major gesture on her part, and protecting all of SB from Cora would be such a gesture.
