Seems like they purposely wrote his character to be a predictable playboy with a Cassanova Complex who is in love with himself.

It’s interesting how people can interpret things so differently, (would be boring if we all saw everything the same way). Personally, I see it all as false bravado because he hates himself.

He sure does not relate well to the LOST BOYS.

Actually, the time we saw him mention the Lost Boys, (when he and Emma were climbing the beanstalk), he appeared to have a look of fond nostalgia for them. I’m looking forward to seeing what the history is there, (one of the reasons I hope Bae ended up in Neverland is because I’d love to see Hook meeting Milah’s son and bonding with him).

I’m on the team that sees Hook as being redeemable. All the detrimental things people say about his character are spot on, but I see that that all stems from a place of extreme hurt, and I think that once he finally acknowledges that, he’ll start on the path to being a better man. His present day actions are understandable to me, given his heartbreak, and I’m hoping we eventually see what happened in his life that drove him into piracy. Considering all of that, that’s why I can see him having a relationship with someone in the future. I don’t think that someone will be Emma though.

I get a kick out of their flirtations, (and love the innuendos ;)), and think that Emma can relate to him more than she’s willing to admit. That tension makes them interesting to me, though I’m not a shipper who sees them together in anything resembling a functional relationship. Each of them needs someone different in the long run IMO, but I’ll enjoy their flirtation for however long it lasts.

The family tree entanglement doesn’t turn me off, I guess because there’s a 200 odd year gap between Milah and Emma, and Hook doesn’t know how the two ladies are (most likely) connected, so it’s not like he knowingly jumped straight from one to the other. I do wonder though, if Neal is revealed to be Bae, if that will do Hook’s head in a bit, and it’ll make him cool things with Emma. Especially if, as I suggested earlier in this post, Hook knew Bae as a child, and they didn’t hate each other. If so, then Hook probably wouldn’t want to get in the middle of Neal and Emma sorting their stuff out, and may take a step back, out of respect for Milah’s son.

I think the pair is awesome. The look Whale gave Red when she said she ate her boyfriend was absolutely priceless.

I loved how for half a second she looked at him like, “Get your mind out of the gutter,” before moving the conversation along. 😆

PS. Whatever David tweeted, I still think Frankenwolf has a better ring to it than WhaleWolf. Frankenwolf sounds like a super cool combo monster. WhaleWolf is what you’d call their offspring.

I don’t know if she actually *is* Nurse Ratched as part of the show’s storyline. I think she was just made to resemble her as a gag- a nod to the character, but it remains to be seen if she actually behaves like her.

Perhaps, however, considering that her appearance matches the notorious Nurse Ratched and that she was, in fact, the nurse that oversaw the psychiatric ward for the SB Hospital, I’d lay my money down on her being one nasty piece of business.

Apparently some people are even speculating that her fairy tale character may be Ursula. 😉

I could have written it off as just being an innocent nod to the character from the book if it had been left at just one visual reference. But seeing Eddy Kitsis say, “Sure looked like Nurse Ratched to me,” with a sly grin, makes me believe that she IS that character from the book. The whole setup of the psych ward, the secret entrance, having it in a dank, dark basement environment, with sparse cells instead of rooms, plus the fact that Sidney got locked up there just so Regina could stash him somewhere out of the way, that all adds to the sinister feeling of it all. And now they’re making a point of using that same nurse again, in a scene with an out of control mental patient, when they could have had any random nurse in the scene. That cements for me that she’s Ratched in particular, and she’s bad news.

But one question, how do we know she is Nurse Ratched. I’d never heared of her before so I did a search on her, and from what I read she’s a mean lady. But I don’t know what points to the nurse being her?

She looks exactly like her (the hair style is a dead giveaway) and K&H confirm it in this interview (about 20 seconds in): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3coE2hSXTU

We haven’t really seen the nurse act that mean.

No we haven’t, but she’s not some random nurse, she’s Nurse freaking Ratched, who doesn’t have a rep for being all sweetness and light. 👿 If she’s anything like One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest suggests she is, I’d prefer her to keep her paws off Belle.

Ahh, thank you for posting! So, it looks like we will be seeing some bad giant CGI after all 😉

The dodgy CGI will be in flashbacks. I expect the stuff where he’s big in SB will be fine, because the background won’t be digitally created. That was the big problem with his last ep, they just didn’t do a good enough job of his giant’s lair. Hopefully they’ve improved it for this ep.

Or maybe amnesia Belle just is crazy and that’s why Nurse Ratched is there.

I don’t like seeing mean Nurse Ratched being in charge of looking after Belle.

Interesting that Anton is big in our world, at least at first. I thought when Cora/Regina brought him through he’d be tiny already!

He’ll have to start out small, because we’ve seen him being discovered in the cage on the boat. Then I guess Regina will make him big again (we know they have a scene together where she implies she can help him) so he can wreak some havoc. Then there are pics of the scene in Granny’s where he appears to be holding a potion bottle, so I’m guessing the misunderstanding gets resolved and he takes something to shrink him again.

Not really keen on seeing another vampire or vampire story, but the idea with Van Helsing showing up as a colleague / friend of Victor sounds attractive.

Vampires are a bit overdone these days, I guess. I’d like to see K&H’s take on them though.

Victor believed science is stronger than magic, and think that is still an interesting question to explore, in Storybrooke and / or The World without Color.

Yes, I know some people aren’t huge fans of them including Frankenstein, and possibly more characters from this land, because they don’t think it fits properly with the fairytale stuff, but I love how it gives them the opportunity to explore this new theme, so I hope they elaborate on it.

I wonder if the werewolf that bit Granny was from there…

Interesting idea. One of the things I liked about Ruby being the one to bond with Whale was how it was a play on the classic pairing of Frankenstein and the Wolfman.

Lil’Red I think it is a great idea. I mean if it is a Neal/Bae story it could be definitely a city name (Talahassee, Manhattan). This is not a odd idea.

Good point. It’d be fun if they kept the place name theme going for his eps. This may come too soon after “Manhattan” to be another Neal ep though. Mind you, “Manhattan” will likely be as much about Rumple and Emma as it is about Neal, so “Lacey” could then be the actual Nealfire centric ep.

True, it could apply to multiple characters, but given that the words are lifted directly from something Blue said to Pinoccho, I’ll be surprised if it’s not August centric.

Blue Fairy: Remember, Pinocchio. Be brave, truthful, and unselfish. So long as you do that, you will always remain a real boy.

“Selfless, Brave and True” would be the perfect name for the August redemption ep.
