Surely they couldn’t resist showing us their take on Van Helsing vs Dracula. I’d have that vamp at the top of my list of characters who I’d expect to see next if they explore this world more, and if they have Dracula, they’ll have to have Van Helsing too.
Van Helsing was a doctor, so perhaps he was a friend and colleague of Viktor’s? And maybe Dracula wanted to get his paws on Gerhardt to turn him into a SuperDuperImmortalMonster, and Van Helsing will protect him, being a friend of the family. (Pure speculation of course, I’m just wondering how they’d tie more characters from that world into the storyline.)

This is what I think too. It’s a constant reminder of the life, and type of person, he’s hoping to get back to once he finds Bae.
It’s curious that it didn’t automatically heal itself though, which is one of the things that has me wondering just how strongly the Dark One Curse is functioning in our world. Obviously he still has his magical abilities, but he hasn’t taken on the physical characteristics that the Dark One Curse gave him. Ruby changed physically now that she has her magic back, so why hasn’t Mr Gold?
But then, there isn’t really a consistency to how magic being back has changed people. Ruby reverted to her true form because magic was back, Archie stayed as his original human form instead of the magic making him change to his magical form, and Gus remained human instead of reverting to being a mouse. Guess we can just chalk it all up to, “Magic works differently here.” 😉
He doesn’t owe anyone any explanation about anything. Perhaps he says nothing about it because there’s nothing to say. And if he makes a big deal about it, then more people, other than the small group of people who are currently riled up about it, see it and jump on the “Wait, there were rumours about something being wrong with him?” bandwagon and the whole thing gets blown way out of proportion and becomes a big, public, ongoing thing, which frankly, isn’t worth the stress of dealing with. If he’s said nothing, I’d assume it’s because there’s nothing to be said, and he’s probably hoping that whatever rumour mill is running, it’ll wear itself out and people will get over it sooner rather than later and move on.
Another Aussie here. I download torrents the day it airs in North America. They do show it here, but we lag behind a bit. We got all caught up before Christmas, but they haven’t started showing it again yet since then, maybe they’re waiting for the hiatuses to be over so they can show the rest of season 2 without any breaks? Anyway, I’ve gotta see it ASAP after it airs in North America, coz this show and this forum are my crack these days, so I download it the first chance I get.

Wonder if we’ll see YoungEmma giving up Henry in this ep? That could parallel to Owen losing his mother. If Owen ends up being James, then they could have the adopted son losing his mother in FTL and Regina adopting a son in SB. And because James was a blood relation to Henry, it keeps both storylines anchored by the one family.
Of course, if Owen is James, then Ben will be George, which should mean we’ll see him in SB. Now I’m back to wondering if somehow he’s Regina’s bio dad. Then they could tie it all together perfectly by having Regina bond with her son, while her father, who she may not even know is her father, struggles with not having ever been able to connect with his daughter. Meanwhile, we see FTL flashbacks to him being very close to his (secretly) adopted son.

This will essentially be Henry’s flashback ep, huh? Except for the 1983 flashback. But if they then skip ahead to when he was born and adopted, then skip ahead again to when he was 5ish, then skip ahead again to when he was 10-ish and got the book. That’d show us how Regina and Henry’s relationship evolved, and that’s something I’ve been hoping we’d get to see.
Thanks for cleaning it up, Daniel. For the most part, everyone gets along fine, it’s just this particular issue that got out of hand. Not too long ago, someone else was posting similar stuff, to the point where it got unbelievable and a few people called them out as just being a troll. They haven’t posted since, which kinda proved that point. I think people were starting to think this was a case of deja vu, and things got a bit heated as a result.
