Had seen a post that mentioned the dagger had been seen in Cora’s hand, so cool to have the pics to confirm it!

I’m thinking two things here. One, maybe the dagger no longer holds any magic/power over the dark one. Perhaps Rumple is finally free of the curse.

It’s still gotta have some sorta power in it or Rumple wouldn’t have been able to use it to summon the Wraith. We don’t really know that the status of his Dark One-ness is at this point in time though. He still got the limp, hasn’t turned green, and kissing Belle doesn’t seem to have had an effect on him, so who knows what’s up with all of that.

So I guess Anton temporarily shrinks himself at some point, huh.

    I would guess Jacqueline.

Yep, he knows. From The Stranger…

Jiminy: Geppetto, think about the example youโ€™re setting for Pinocchio.

Geppetto: Oh! Oh! You may be a conscience, but you have not earned the right to tell me what to do.

Jiminy: Please. Iโ€™m only trying to help.

Geppetto: Help? Help, like you โ€˜helpedโ€™ my parents? Your debt to me can never be fulfilled. But a start would be staying out of this. Understand?

I’m just wondering how far his “cover identity” goes. I mean, if Gold is Scottish by birth, does he have naturalization papers somewhere? Would there be INS issues? (how hilarious would that be? “Sir, this says you’re a resident alien from the UK, but you told my colleague you were from Maine.” “I am from Maine, that’s where I live.” “Sir, can you tell me what your city of birth is?” “Um, Glasgow. My father was an American, though, so you might see that on my papers…” “Sir, your papers say you’re from Aberdeen and your father was a kettle salesman. I’m going to need to detain you for a while…”)

How exactly SB and its residents fit in to our world is something I’ve wondered too. Dunno if they necessarily want us to dissect the technicalities. It doesn’t diminish the show for me at all if they just want us to accept that “it just is”, but sometimes I wonder about it.

Like, the place isn’t visible to the outside world, but Henry was able to use MM’s credit card to buy a ticket for a real world bus without the card showing up as being bogus. Using that as an example, it’s safe to assume that any ID Mr Gold has to travel with wouldn’t show up as being bogus either. But how are they in the real world system if the town is a magical creation and is essentially invisible to the outside world? Does not compute.

It’s sort of…what’s the word…disconcerting, perhaps…seeing the Frankenworld styled so similarly to something that has a real world feel. It’s weird though, because I’ve never felt that way about FTL, even though that’s styled on times past in our world as well, and they all freaking speak English. But then they show legit German writing in Frankenworld and it throws me off, because it feels like they’re trying to replicate a real world culture. It shouldn’t throw me off, because like I said, it’s no different to what they’ve done previously, I’m just sayin’, it messed with my head for a moment there with the German and the Christmas tree and the real world-esque military uniforms and whatnot. ๐Ÿ˜†

Since the first two aren’t going to happen, we must see number three. If Emma is to believe Gold, it can’t be just a casual denial and apology for what he said. He will have to prove to her that he is not a threat. Obviously, if Neal turns out to be Bae, that could do it since we know enough about Rumple to know that he would not try to kill his own grandson. Even if Bae is not Neal, the writers could concoct some events that will give Emma the assurance she needs. But it will have to be a powerful assurance.

I think that Emma’s gonna have a very unique experience out in the real world with Rumple. She’s gonna see him as a scared, desperate, mortal man, which is something no other SBer (except Hook) has ever witnessed. In the promo for the next ep there's that bit where they're at airport security, and he looks unsure and unsteady on his feet, and she's behind him, looking concerned, with her arms out as if to catch him if he stumbles. He's a far cry from the menacing Mr Gold and Rumple in that scene.

I think that seeing him in this light and in this environment that’s so strange to him, will give her a whole new understanding of him. She’ll also be able to appreciate and relate to the emotions he’s going through over going to find his long lost son. There’s plenty for them to bond over, and I think that ultimately she’ll realise this…

He’s hurting and heartbroken and not used to people doing things without an ulterior motive. He has no real friends. His threat is the only way he knows to ask, “Hey, will you look after Belle and make sure she’s fine while I’m away.”

    Exactly!

Of course, if Neal ends up being Bae then there’s also the familial connection which would stop him from hurting the Charmings, but even without that added element, I think it’s entirely possible for Emma to come to an understanding that his threat was essentially empty, and just something said out of fear.

I bet Rumple saved the pieces. I think he’ll put Chip back together for her. When that happens, I think it’ll be very a very sweet moment for them; when he gives Chip back to her.

He walked out and left the pieces there. I guess there’s a chance that perhaps Belle picked up the chips of Chip and will keep them, not really knowing why she had the urge to do it.

There’s a link in this thread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=2581 to and interview where Jane Espensen is talking about Chip: “Symbolism works one direction, not both directions. The cup symbolises the relationship, but that doesn’t meant that breaking the cup ends the relationship.” So it’s safe to say that this wasn’t the end of Rumbelle, so no one needs to worry about that.

I thought it was heartbreakingly perfect for Chip to get smashed at that point in time, and look forward to seeing how Rumbelle gets put back together.

The character description would certainly fit with Hook. If Killian lost his mother, that adds a whole new dimension to him having played a role in Bae losing his mother too. This makes me hope even more that Hook and Bae met in Neverland.
