Madalena is an evil….word I can’t say. But oh god she is fun to watch. That tango was hilarious.

I love how evil they made her. You go into a story like this with a preconceived notion of what the “damsel in distress” is like, and they just threw that out the window and went in the whole other direction. So clever, love it.

Also like how they flipped the gender stereotype, having Galavant be the one trying to convince himself that she really does love him, even when all the signs were screaming NOPE.

I really enjoyed Chef’s duet with the hand maiden because it pretty accurately portrays life for the peasantry–you have fleas and lice and all your children die and you live in a hovel. It’s a new kind of love song…sorta like “Maybe You’re Not the Worst Thing Ever.”

I love how real the love songs are on this show. The Galabella duet is another great example, such non-romantic notions for the lyrics of such romantic songs.

Also, I love the Chef, he may be my fave, (almost, because I have a soft spot for Richard as a hangover for my love of Tim Omundson’s portrayal of Lassie on Psych), if anyone in this show deserves a happy ending, it’s him.

It’s interesting that he mentioned they do their singing live. They don’t lip sync their parts.  He talked about how hard it is to stay in character singing when trying to mount a horse.

The actors for Isabella and Sid are interviewed on the Afterbuzz podcast for this ep, and they mentioned the live singing too. They pre-record the songs, but still sing live, and sometimes part of the live take is better, except there are birds singing in the background.

Honestly, not that surprised, since the whole point was to air something to prevent OUAT from competing against award shows and football. Looks like ABC was the only one to air original programming that night, as the other networks were either airing sports or didn’t want to compete against the 2nd biggest football night of the year. The Cancellation Bear is already eyeing for its sadly likely cancellation.

Considering the timeslot they put it in though, you’ve gotta wonder what expectations they had for the ratings, so those numbers could potentially be on par. Wonder if it gets much of a bump in DVR views?

I’m sad that there are only two more eps left. Can’t wait to see what Kingsley (that name LOL) has in store for poor Dickie.

This show is probably one of the best things on TV right now. I like it when a show can laugh at itself in a sardonic way.

This is one of the reasons I really enjoy the show, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. There are still some more serious moments, like how in ep 3 Galavant had some self realisation and then gave that pep talk to Sid, (sidenote: I loved the gag of Sid collecting “dolls”, this show is good at inserting little things that are more modern references, like fanboys collecting figurines, but making them fit in the medieval fairy tale setting), but overall it’s just a parody and it knows it. For me it’s like a breath of fresh air from Once, which I feel takes itself far too seriously when IMO it’s not at the standard where it can do that any more.

Hugh Bonneville as the Pirate captain was a riot, and I totally dug his crew’s “Lords of the Sea” pirate shanty.

The pirates were hilarious. “We’re Lords of the sea! Just…not of the actual sea.” LOL

I’m continuing to love King Richard, while also growing more and more appreciation for the Jester. I felt bad for the Jester when Madalena imprisoned him for refusing to continue sleeping with her.

I loved that Richard learned the Jester’s name (first AND last), but Madenena had no idea who he was talking about. Is it wrong to ship King Richard and the Jester, because I think I almost did? LOL I don’t really feel sorry for the Jester, you have a sordid affair with the Queen and you get what’s coming to you. I feel increasingly sorry for Richard, having Madelena for a wife. The poor guy, he’s so clueless that when he discovers his wife is having an affair, he goes to get tips from the guy she’s having the affair with. The scene where he was poking at the Jester with the fake sword made me giggle a lot, it came across far funnier than you’d think, (bless Tim Omundson, he is wonderful!).

I have a love/hate situation with Galavant. On the one hand, I love that he defended the “mouth breather”, and he’s obviously really starting to care for Isabella. But then he goes and ignores her when she was confessing to him, and I kinda wanted to slap him. But at least he said he was gonna work on not ignoring her when she speaks. He’s gotta work on the arrogance, but there’s hope for him yet, (and my money is still on him marrying into Valencian royalty).

Episode 314, “Enter the Dragon”, has already been confirmed as Regina centric, since it’s supposed to be the story of how Regina and Maleficent met.

Couldn’t that one be Maleficent centric as opposed to Regina centric? We know that Ursula’s getting a centric, so you’d think Maleficent would get one too, and hers would probably come first. Plus, with a title like that, it’s always sounded Maleficent centric to me.

This hiatus has been so nice, it’s good to not be stressed out and pissed off over the show, I haven’t even peeked in the tumblr tag for it in ages.

I do miss regularly posting in here though, so part of me is looking forward to the hiatus being over so we can grumble together again. *HUGS THREAD*

And I also miss the days of being eager to tear apart even the smallest spoiler to try and figure out what it means. Oh Show, who’d you have to go and change so? *sigh*

I bet it’s where the Hoods are living on the other side of the townline …

The Hoods! Makes them sound like a gang, that’d be a good name for the Merry Men. LOL Considering some time has passed, they could be living there now. Though it’s a pretty nice looking place for people who were essentially destitute 6 weeks ago, exactly how much money did Regina give them? Or maybe it’ll be a flashback to them arriving in our world and that’s the first place they saw.

All the SoL promo is awesome and I hope it’s a huge success for MRJ and all involved. Hope someone uploads it to one of the places I usually download shows from because I need to see it! Some vids on the History site I can watch, but for some shows the full ep vids are locked unless you log in with your tv provider and I’ll bet SoL will be one of those locked ones.

That song is so catchy! LOL

I’m glad we’re gonna get a Sid ep. Really liked him and was hoping they’d flesh him out a bit more.

I’m not trying to cut open old wounds, but in episode 316, before Neal dies, Hook shares a heartfelt goodbye with Neal. That scene has always bothered me. Mostly because it seemed to me that Hook knew that Neal was going to die.

Well, I wouldn’t call it “heartfelt”. I’d call that whole scene perplexingly atrocious writing where they realised they’d wasted the potential for the two of them working through their crap, and suddenly they had to wrap it all up immediately, and that’s the pile of poop they came up with. I doubt there’s any more to it, (much as I’d like that proposed storyline about Hook stealing the happy ending from Neal).

Lauren! YOUR BEAUTIFUL FANARTS MAKE ME SO HAPPY AND SO SAD!

DSB! This is from a million pages back, but I LOVE THAT YOU MADE ACTUAL TENTS!

About temps, i have 2ºC that in translation means 35.6ºF, i know @Josephine will still hate me, but at least she has to hate @Ranisha more, bc she has warmer weather than me

It’s currently 26C here, which is about 79F. Tomorrow is meant to get up to 29C/84F.
*ducks and runs from all of you* 😛

That was so much fun. I love that it’s over the top cheesy and it just embraces it and is glorious. They must have had a ball writing those songs.

Yes! GalaBella FTW!…..Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if they completely subvert and have the king end up with Isabella and galavant and mada-whats-her-face get back together in the end. but as it stands now, I am shipping GalaBella

Before watching I was ready to not want Madalena to end up with anyone because Galavant deserves better and Richard is a word I can’t say on the forum so I wanted her to just kill him and take his kingdom or something. But of course Tim Omundson won me right over (which I knew he would) and by the end of ep two I was feeling all sorry for poor messed up Richard, so I won’t hate it if they sort out their stuff end up together, (though I’d also be fine with it if he dumped her and she ended up alone in the end). I’m sure Isabella will come through with the truth and after a brief falling out, she and Galavant will save her kingdom and her family and end up together.

The Chef was a surprise fave for me. And John Stamos as that Knight was so random and fabulous.
