Emma: What is the plan? You haven’t told me anything. What’s going on?

    MMB: The wardrobe.

Emma: The wardrobe? ‘The’ wardrobe? Like, the wardrobe that sent little baby me to Maine? You think that can get us back to Storybrooke?

MMB: I don’t know. First, we have to see if it survived the curse, then we’ll worry about making it work.

    (And then later…)

    Emma: Where’s the ‘on’ switch?

MMB: It’s more complicated than that. We’ll have to get it back to the island. Hopefully, someone there has access to enough magic to make it work again.

I don’t think Snow knew for sure that it would work, she didn’t even know if it still existed. It’s just that they’re desperate, and that’s the one and only portal she ever knew of to get from FTL to our world, so it was their only option to try. But she didn’t actually have any idea how to get it to work, or if it was even possible.

As for the recharging, I don’t see that as a plot hole, I see it as a plot development. It was the second time we’ve seen something Emma touch become magical. Emma doesn’t even realise she’s a magical recharging device yet, but they’ve given the audience hints that she is as they’re developing her character. The way they worded Snow’s line, “if anyone has access to enough magic”, is a big hint at Emma’s ability to tap into any residual magic in the atmosphere. Her ability to do that and recharge magical objects and people is likely a power that’s unique to her, and no one in FTL history could do it, so recharging stuff back then wasn’t an option. In this particular case, Snow’s really just desperately grasping at straws in the hope of a solution. Little did she know, the solution was Emma.

😆 Actually, I’m still open to the possibility that he’s NOT Bae, and IS just Henry’s father. Though I think that odds are he WILL be both, but I’m keeping an open mind. We haven’t seen much of him yet, haven’t even heard him speak, so all the hints that people think he’s Bae are just speculation based on the stuff from his apartment. But people have used that stuff to speculate about him being several people, so they haven’t given any blatant, “This is absolutely only something that only Bae would say, do, know or have,” moments yet. Once that does happen though, then I don’t think they’ll turn around and make him not Bae.

Either she’s giving a huge hint, or she knows about the impostor theory and is jesting.

I cracked up when I saw that tweet. Then it made me even more paranoid. 😕 😆

So yes, I think Emma and Snow likely actually own these clothes, but most of the time they wear the same clothing on the show unless something is going on. For me, it’s just like how most people usually wear the same type of clothes everyday to work or school unless there’s something special going on. In this case, the something special is that this isn’t the real Emma and Snow, but Hook and Cora. So to me Emma’s style looks more like Hook’s style because of the coat and boots and likewise Snow’s style looks more like Cora’s style because of the black almost glove things and her collar, which maybe no one will notice at first in Storybrooke because it’s not really such a big deal.

That’s a fair point. I mean, if Cora went into Snow’s SB closet, and she sees those type of clothes, of course that’s what she’d choose. She has no way of knowing that it’s not how Snow usually dresses, she just knows she found something she’d be comfortable in. Same deal for Hook and Emma.

I don’t think Charming would think right away that anything was wrong. I mean why would he. He has no idea what exists in what’s left of FTL to think, “I wonder if there’s any evil villains that use dark magic that can shape shift left in FTL”. He might not even know that it’s possible for people who use magic to shape shift into actual people. Plus, he’s going to be so happy that he’s probably not going to notice any little things being off right away. When he starts to notice things are off, he’s probably not going to jump to the conclusion either, “I bet they’re not really my wife and daughter,” he’ll just write it off at first on blaming it on the horrible experience that his wife and daughter had to endure, or just think it’s his imagination.

Rather conveniently, on top of Snow and Emma just having been through a particular ordeal, everyone in SB has just been through an identity crisis ordeal. So if Charming did noticed that something wasn’t quite right with Snow, and asked her about it, she could write it off as not having adjusted to their new selves just yet, and that’s something he’d understand and he’d drop the topic.

I wonder if the Mystery Man is in fact Henry’s dad, and the writers are gonna lead us around to make us think that he’s Bae. I saw a video from comic con where someone in the audience asked Jenny Morrison if Henry’s dad was Bae, so the writers already know what we’re expecting.

The thing about that kind of thing is that it makes everything unnecessarily complicated. They have to leave clues about things like that or the truth will seem like it just fell from the sky. But to hardcore fans–the real weirdos that spend all their time on the forms trying to figure out what’s going to happen next–those clues give it away. I don’t think they would risk completely confusing the 99% of people who just watch just to throw the other 1% of us off the trail…

I reckon that now that they’ve done the Bae fake out once, they won’t do it again. In the previous case, there was a point for it in the storyline, because August was trying to deceive Mr Gold for his own purposes. If they did it again, where Neal isn’t really Bae, but they make it look like he is, it’d just be the writers messing with the audience, because why would Neal be trying to make himself look like Bae if he’s not? And given the uproar the last time they tricked the viewers about Bae’s identity, I dunno that they’d risk the wrath a second time. 😛

Can’t wait to see more of their history, glad to see that they’re planning to develop it soon. Guess this puts an end to any speculation about them being related if the Daniel incident is how they met.

The only thing about the mystery guy is he could also be Henry’s dad so… that could be rough at first but long term that’s mendable I think. If he proves to be Peter Pan and there’s something going on between Hook and Emma that could be just so much fun lol.

Totally! That’s one of the reasons I’m thinking they might go with Bae/Henry’s father/Peter Pan all being the same guy. Imagine Peter Pan and Hook both having eyes for the same woman. Those two historically have a rivalry, and even moreso in this version if it turns out Hook is the man who took Pan’s mother away from him. So having them both wanting Emma would amp up their rivalry to a breaking point quite nicely.

From the Pilot: “When I adopted him, he was only three weeks old. Records were sealed. I was told the birth mother didn’t want to have any contact.”

ETA: Some more tweets that are leaving me confused as to whether or not this is really Emma and Snow with Cora sneaking into town with them, or if it’s really Cora and Hook. However, I do think that if they aren’t the real Emma and Snow, I had their identities mixed up based on their body language in the pictures because Emma must be Cora and Snow must be Hook which is why Cora/Emma has a face-off with Regina and Hook/Snow has a face-off with Rumple if this theory is true.

I’d think it’d be more likely that Snow would be Cora. Hell, if I were Cora, I’d pick to be the one who gets to make out with Charming, and by the same token, Hook seemed pretty straight, so he’d probably prefer to be in the body that’s not making out with Charming. 😉

The mention of the cake scene is curious. Doesn’t necessarily mean that “Emma” is Cora though, she could still be Hook and be doing something that Cora had told him to. Or maybe Cora can just choose to be either of them at any time, should the situation require it.

August and Emma have too much of a sibling vibe to be involved romantically IMO. Hook would definitely be attracted to her, though I dunno that the feelings would necessarily be returned, but I’d say he’ll still have a grand old time trying.
