ParticipantWhen I saw the thread title, I thought it was gonna be about Rumple’s, “tick tock” line, which I thought was brilliant!
Anyway, I dunno that Hook is exactly afraid of time, but considering his opponent has all the power in the world AND eternal life, time is Hook’s enemy. Finding a way to defeat Rumple won’t be an easy task, it’ll take years, and Hook will want to remain in his prime for when the next battle happens. Won’t do him any good spending a lifetime trying to discover a way to defeat the Dark One if in the end, he’s too old to do anything about it.

ROFLOL Phee! I love the rest of your post but this part just cracks me up! Your honesty is so refreshing and I know MANY of us have been down to those dark trenches at some point of our lives.
😆 Thankfully it happened enough years ago that I can joke around about it a bit now. 😉 But it was dark and ugly for a while there, so I’m totally rocking the empathy for Rumple on this one. At least I got dumped in private, not surrounded by a shipload of people laughing at me, which would have just compounded the humiliation of it all for him, and made him feel even more that he had to put on a show of power to save face.

He acknowledges that he uses power as a crutch, without which he fears he couldn’t walk. (Great metaphor, since he uses an actual cane in SB).
Loved that line! The only time we’ve seen him wandering around without his literal crutch was when he was in full possession of his metaphorical crutch.

So Bae could go where he is supposed to, Neverland where he fights Hook at some point.
I like this idea. Maybe the bean took him to Neverland, not only because it’s where orphaned, lost boys go, but also because he had unfinished business with Hook that he was destined to address.

I think the writers intentionally introduced the audience to Killian Jones’s full name, since as theorized in the initial reactions podast, his last name have special significance to his backstory. Killian Jones might be related to the Captain Davy Jones.
I really hope they go there with his character, like, he’s the son of Davy Jones, or something. Why else would they give someone whose character lives on the sea the last name of Jones, of all things?

I think some sort of understanding between Rumple and Bae will be endgame, ultimately, but it’s going to be a very looooong and difficult road before we get to that.
Bae’s gonna have a helluva lot to forgive, that’s for sure. He’ll also have to work in forgiving his dead mother for leaving him, along with everything his father has done. I don’t think it’ll be impossible for them to work it out though. It’s not impossible that Bae could go through something in his own life that may cause him to have some empathy for his father.

So in conclusion: Thanks a lot Milha! This is entirely your fault! Lol

Yeah, he went way too far this time- killing his wife for actually doing the right thing for herself & ultimately her son (or so she thought), that was an act of pure evil & vindictiveness. If every man or women was able to kill their spouse for leaving a loveless marriage, we’d probably die as a species 😆
Killing her was extreme and uncalled for, no doubt about it, murder is never ever an acceptable option. I can’t write him off for it though, coz I had me some dark thoughts after my husband left, and had I have had me some dark, magical powers to go along with my heartbreak, chances are I’d have used ’em to lay the smackdown. 😛 Luckily, I’m not cursed to be the Dark One, and am a pacifist, so have no murderous deeds on my conscience, but I can see why Rumple lashed out like he did in the heat of that moment.
Another facet to his murdering Milha that I thought played a Massive role, was the fact he didn’t once mention what He himself had forced Bae into. I fully believe when he killed Milha, he was punishing her for what he himself did to Bae & simply used the excuse of her leaving him to be with her true love & happy as justification for himself.
Not unlike that time he beat Moe and was screaming about how he’d hurt Belle. All that anger wasn’t just directed at Moe, Rumple was in large part beating himself up.
This episode did take Rumple to possibly the darkest place we’ve seen him in, killing the mother of his son. But on the flipside, his final scene with Belle in the library did show that he’s finally starting to own up to his faults. He’s been honest with someone for the first time in several hundred years. He’s actually let someone see him as being vulnerable, desperate even. That’s HUGE character development for him, and goes to show how good Belle is for him. Thank you, Belle for being tough on him!

ParticipantIn the thread for the promo for The Doctor, I pondered if the specific heart Daniel gets will be significant, and TheGoldenKey suggested that maybe it’ll be getting a “murderous heart” that makes the whole reanimation go so wrong. I briefly considered if the heart could potentially belong to someone like Jack The Ripper, but ruled him out because he’s too “real” IMO. The point you make about how his story isn’t necessarily strictly historical fact is interesting, but, I dunno, for me, he’s still too much of a real person from our world to be able to qualify as a storybook character in the context of the show. Much of his legend may be pure speculation, and in some cases fiction, but the origin of the character was still a very real world person committing very real world crimes, so I kinda hope they don’t include him in the show.

ParticipantWonder if they’ll make a point of whose heart Daniel ended up with? Or maybe that won’t be significant. But it’d be fun if they made it the heart of someone everyone’s heard of.

ParticipantSo fun! Thanks for sharing the pics. Too bad no one else dressed up, but you looked fab!
Those apple turnovers look delish. Do I dare risk a bite?

ParticipantWonder if this will be the ep where they meet? Maybe he’s sorta like the FTL equivalent of an ambulance chasing lawyer, and when he hears about Regina’s problem with the dead true love, he sees the opportunity for a job, and offers his services to help her get the guy who can bring him back to life.
