ParticipantThat pic of Mikey’s is kinda bittersweet for me. I love that they’re still such close friends, it’s a beautiful thing. But it also reminds me of all the wasted CaptainFire potential which bums me out. *sigh*
Anyway, Happy New Year to you all! Day 1 is half over here already.

ParticipantFirstly, I think season 5 will be the last. They could possibly push it out to a 6th season but Robert Carlyle was only signed up for 5 seasons and A&E said they had enough material for 5 seasons. If Once lost RC or Lana Parilla, the show would start sinking quite rapidly. Losing JMo or EdR would damage it badly too.
Assuming that the info about Bobby’s contract is true (I have no idea where it came from but seems to be a generally accepted fact?), I doubt he’d sign on for more beyond that. But Disney may not care, they may want to keep this show going for as long as possible, even if it ends up getting run into the ground. Killing Rumple at the end of Bobby’s contract could be a way for them to bring Neal back in a “life for a life” trade situation where Rumple concedes that Neal never should have given his own life to bring him back, so he sets things right. It’d be a nice redemptive way to wrap up Rumple’s story, and frankly he’s gone so off the rails I think it’d take something massive like that type of sacrifice for him to even be redeemed. He may not get to spend his life with his son like he’d always wanted, but he’d have given his son’s life back.
You know the sad thing is I would love to have hope because there will always be a part of me that wishes to see that lost boy get his family and home and happy ending. But its hard to hope because it hurts too much too have your hope dash to pieces.
I don’t really have much hope left for the show, but there’s still that super annoying little voice in my head insisting that there’s a way they can fix it. Super annoying little voice can be really super annoying.

ParticipantBarnett’s review. Starts around 12mins for ONCE
She’s been speaking so much truth lately.

ParticipantWe really need to see more of The Dragon from that episode. I really hate it when they throw in some random plot devicey character and never flesh them out.
Much as it would be lovely to get an explanation about who The Dragon was, I wouldn’t hold my breath for it. The general audience would have forgotten he even existed, so bringing him up again would be really random for the majority of the audience. Also, I’m pretty sure they want everyone to forget about Tamara and her taser, considering they’ve admitted that the taser was kind of a stupid idea, and bringing up The Dragon again would be a bit too close to reminding people of that plot device mistake.

ParticipantRaise your hand if you think Mal and Stephen were once in love but he betrayed her
Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! Perfect motivation for Maleficent to want to put her to sleep and get her out of the way. Also gives motivation for her putting Aurora to sleep, no wonder she despised her if she was the product of the marriage of the man she loved. For maximum drama, let’s have Stefan cheating on Maleficent with Aurora’s mother, and accidentally getting her pregnant, and then he had to marry her and leave Mal.

ParticipantI remember him from Supernatural and 24. With this casting it certainly seems that Aurora’s dad won’t be all sunshine and sweetness.

ParticipantSad about Lisa. 🙁 I didn’t realise she’d been that sick, just had a look on FB and saw a post saying she passed away from kidney failure. RIP Lisa.

ParticipantIn the Broadway show, Ariel’s family is a big interracial rainbow. Her father is black, Ursula (her aunt) was white but also had a black understudy. She had two black sisters, as well as an Asian, Hispanics, etc and if you look closely none of them even have the same hair color or tail design. So it has been done before.
I don’t really know much about the musical so wasn’t aware of that. Still, seems a bit odd to me. *shrug* Though even the fact of a mermaid and an octomaid being genetically related makes me a bit, “WUT?” Just because they’re both sea creatures that doesn’t mean they’re genetically compatible.
My issue with them having Ursula and Ariel being related isn’t more so about race but about how they should have introduced or at least hinted at it when Ariel was on the show in S3 if that is what they are going to do. Then I’d have less of a hard time believing it. There is always the theory that Ursula revealed herself to Regina after supposedly going unseen for a thousand years is because she didn’t want anybody to *bleep* with her niece. But then one must wonder why Ursula didn’t restore Ariel’s voice.
Yeah, there seemed to be a total disconnect between Ariel and Ursula with the way they were portrayed. If Poseidon is, “highly protective of his family”, then an estrangement in the family doesn’t really make sense for why they were portrayed as not knowing each other.

ParticipantAll I know is, if it turns out Cruella can shapeshift into being a dog and they don’t use it as an opportunity to bring Red back into the story, I’ll be…decidedly annoyed, (for want of a more explicit term).
