ParticipantOh good I’m glad it managed to stay in. My computer went poof (it’s okay now though) but yeah, I had a lot to say. I was thinking of you and our discussion about how podcasts are starting to get on our nerves for dismissing all the bad storytelling lately.
Yes! It might not help your stress levels, but I kinda wish you could sit in on every podcast to call stuff out so it actually gets addressed.

ParticipantAlso, being this is FTL, they might be willing to look past common genetic logic, in regards to Joanna being Latina, while Ursula and Poseidon are African American. Not to mention, Poseidon’s wife could still be white. I mean, I recall a few people theorizing about Tamara being Robin Hood and Marian’s daughter back in late Season 2, despite Robin being white.
I was one of the people on that train, and while the skin colours weren’t completely matchy, I still thought it possible because they were matchy enough that I could buy it if they’d given Tamara a white guy for a father. Merrin and Ernie both have that that deep, rich, chocolate brown skin, so unless there’s some recessive albino gene that Ariel got lumped with, there’s just no way I can buy a genetic link there.
Casting call…
For Episode 15, Once is casting the possibly recurring role of a king whose crown was hard-won, and the fight to keep it has taken a toll. He is also described as “handsome, though not refined, and highly protective of his family.”

ParticipantRG, I just listened to the latest podcast and was legit bummed when you dropped out half way through because you were bringing some vital points into the discussion. I’m glad you got your Rumple rant in!

ParticipantI hope Poseidon and Triton aren’t brothers (or father and son) in the show, because a) why would Ariel have been so clueless about Ursula if she was family and 2) if they want me to believe that Joanna Garcia Swisher is biologically related to Merrin Dungey and Ernie Hudson, I won’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Was this the casting call for the King with the hard won crown, or are we still thinking that was Aurora’s father? I’d rather the Poseidon situation be that he wrestled the Sea King crown away from Triton, instead of them being related.

ParticipantAnd Adam answered
Yeah, “Never say never,” I rolled my eyes and was all, “Don’t lie to Shatner, Adam! Getting Shatner’s hopes up is cruel and you’ll pay for it!”

ParticipantColour me shocked that they’re bringing him back, and for multiple episodes.
I guess it will probably be Author related, though I hope the Author didn’t teach him anything about changing the book because that wouldn’t make sense because the pages change magically but August did it manually.
It would make sense if the Author is how August found out about Neal, but that alone wouldn’t require a multi-episode arc.

ParticipantI find it funny how William Shatner is our biggest (celebrity) fan.
Sometimes I just wanna kiss that man! It’s one thing for us plebs to be annoyed at what happened to Neal, A&E can ignore our opinion to theirs heart’s content. But it’s harder for them to brush off William freaking Shatner’s opinion.

ParticipantNo internet at home. I’m going stir crazy and it’s been only one night.
Hope it starts working again ASAP! I kinda sorta feel your pain. My power went out tonight in a storm, and when the power came back and I rebooted the computer…it exploded actual sparks out the back of it and now it needs a power source transplant, (which should thankfully be taken care of tomorrow…how on earth did we get by in the stone ages before computers and internets?!)

ParticipantSorry for the rant.
Welcome to our frustrated world. These are things we’ve been saying all along.
