Is that a knight in armour that Snow is knocking off that horse? Lancelot?

Loved the bit where we see Sleeping Beauty wake up!

-Regina shot an intense scene with Mr. Gold in his pawnshop. She had to conceal the item she took away from the shop in fear that onlookers would see exactly what she took.

What item could this be? It would have to be small for her to conceal it. Perhaps it is the spellbook. This could occur after Regina’s magic doesn’t work the first time she uses it.

The spellbook would certainly be small enough. I wonder if she’d already have that though, if it belonged to her mother.

-Mr. Gold will make his magic have a more β€œpersonal nature” with his beloved Belle.

What could “personal nature” mean? Could it have something to do with Belle being “darker” this season?

I dunno about anyone else, but that particular spoiler sent my mind to the gutter. πŸ˜›

-We will meet Rumplestiltskin’s wife in season two.

How old do you think Bae was when his mother left?

I think he was an infant. All he knew about what happened to his mother, he knew from Rumple, so Bae wasn’t old enough to know what was going on when they lost her.

Since Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) is coming, is there a chance we’ll see Peter Pan or Wendy?
Kitsis: There is a chance we’ll see Peter Pan, Wendy and/or… [dramatic pause] Tinker Bell. I would say that a story like Tinker Bell’s deserves its own origin story.

I guess Bae could be Peter Pan, but they don’t seem to be trying to hide anything to me or answering for sure that we will see Peter Pan, which makes me think that Peter is someone other than Bae if they do introduce him.

I still want Henry’s dad to be Peter Pan, mostly because I like the idea that the boy who famously couldn’t grow up, became the father of the only kid in SB who COULD grow up. But I’m confident that whatever story they come up with for Henry’s father will be great, so I’m trying not to get attached to any particular theory. Anyway, regardless of if we get Peter, that spoiler certainly sounds like we’ll be getting a Tinkerbell story, which should be awesome!

Is Henry’s father someone we’ve already met?
    Horowitz: Can’t answer.

Basically more confirmation for me that Bae is Henry’s father.

Not really a surprise that they didn’t give an answer on that one. If they said yes, everyone would conclude that the Bae theory is right. If they said no, that’d put an end to the Bae theory speculation. So they couldn’t confirm either way, coz this is one plot point that they just love driving us crazy over. πŸ˜†

It’s just weird imo that they announced the casting for the character, but didn’t later come out and say who got the part even though it wouldn’t really be much of a spoiler if they announced it. I guess maybe it could be an actress that people don’t really know of, so it wouldn’t generate much publicity to do a press release especially if Milha is just going to be in one episode, but then why make a fuss about the role of Milha.

I reckon they didn’t announce the actress because they made a point of casting someone who looks like Bae’s mother. If everyone knew who the actress was, and she looks like Bae, it’d all but confirm who the Milha character is gonna be.

Robert Carlyle said that Rumpel and Hook have a history together that dates back to before he became the Dark One. Couple that with the spoilers for “The Crocodile” that say a bored housewife leaves her husband and child to join a band of theives, I’m going to say that Hook is the man Rumpel’s first wife left him for. And out of revenge, Rumpel chopped off his hand.

I think so too except in my theory Milha cut off Hook’s hand because she wanted to go back to her son after running away with Hook, but he wouldn’t let her. (It’s based on Jospehine giving me the idea that the inspiration for Hook and Milha could have came from an English ballad “The House Carpenter”.) Rumple definitely works too though. It could be over revenge, or maybe Hook was trying to steal Bae from him because he thought Bae was rightfully his.

This is why I think Rumple will be the Crocodile who takes off Hook’s hand…

…a guy looking like that pops up in Neverland and attacks Hook. You’re part of a ship’s crew, and a creature with scaly coloured skin, long nails, animalistic eyes, wonky teeth, and dressed like Rumple is in that pic, leaps out of the water and attacks your Captain. Someone on the boat yells, “CROCODILE!” coz at first glance, that’s totally what the creature looked like, and henceforth the creature that attacked Hook, whoever or whatever it really was, becomes known as “The Crocodile.”

I don’t really know how much Rumple cared for his first wife at all, so while I’m sure he would be upset if she ran off, I don’t know if he would chop off Hook’s hand unless maybe it was after he became the Dark Curse.

Rumple’s wife may have not really been into him much, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he felt nothing for her in return. If she cheated on him, and left him, that would have been around the same time as everyone was beating him down for running from the war. His life would have been falling apart, so I can see him swearing revenge on the man who took his wife, because that would have been the last straw. Also, over the years, as Bae grew up without knowing his mother, it’d break Rumple’s heart every time the poor kid would ask about her. That would make his resentment for the man who took her grow even more.

He seems too young to be him though.

That’s my sticking point with the Triton theory too. A lot of it would make sense, but if they plan to introduce Ariel later, does David Anders really look old enough to play her dad? Just looked up his age and he’s only 31. I know merfolk can age differently and all, but I’d find it hard to believe if I’m looking at a 20 year old girl running around SB, calling him dad.

I’m glad they chose this scene to release, coz it had been bugging me not knowing for sure what Dr Whale’s demeanour was in it, but seeing how it begins, he’s quite clearly leading the mob, and was never standing up there in front of everyone side by side with her.

It looks to me like he was aware her magic wouldn’t work. He didn’t flinch like everyone else did, and would he have led all those people there in the first place if he thought they’d be in danger? Would he have so easily said that they were gonna make her suffer if he expected her to have her magic? I guess if no one else in town had had their magic automatically come back, then there was no reason to expect that Regina would have hers either. The people still flinched because, that’s what one does when the Evil Queen threatens you, but Whale knows her better than most, so wasn’t as scared.

PS. “That smirk *dramatic pause* isn’t gonna last forever,” made me think of the Cheshire Cat, now that I’ve got that theory wedged in my brain.

God help me, I read the plot summary for Puss in Boots on wikipedia and now my imagination isn’t just running away from me, it’s galloping at full speed. πŸ˜†

This is the plot, copied and pasted, but I changed the gender, so it’s about a miller’s daughter, instead of a miller’s son…

The tale opens with the third and youngest [daughter] of a miller receiving [her] inheritance β€” a cat. At first, the youngest [daughter] laments, as the eldest [sister] gains the mill, and the middle [sister] attains the mules. The feline is no ordinary cat, however, but one who requests and receives a pair of boots. Determined to make his [mistress’] fortune, the cat bags a rabbit in the forest and presents it to the king as a gift from his [mistress], the fictional [Marquise] of Carabas. The cat continues making gifts of game to the king for several months.

One day, knowing the king and his [son] are traveling by coach along the riverside, the cat persuades his [mistress] to remove [her] clothes and enter the river. The cat disposes of his [mistress’] clothing beneath a rock. As the royal coach nears, the cat begins calling for help in great distress, and, when the king stops to investigate, the cat tells him that his [mistress], the [Marquise], has been bathing in the river and robbed of [her] clothing. The king has the young [woman] brought from the river, dressed in a splendid suit of clothes, and seated in the coach with his [son], who falls in love with [her] at once.

The cat hurries ahead of the coach, ordering the country folk along the road to tell the king that the land belongs to the “[Marquise] of Carabas”, saying that if they do not he will cut them into mincemeat. The cat then happens upon a castle inhabited by an ogre who is capable of transforming himself into a number of creatures. The ogre displays his ability by changing into a lion, frightening the cat, who then tricks the ogre into changing into a mouse. The cat then pounces upon the mouse and devours it, revealing his more animalistic instinctual tendencies. The king arrives at the castle that formerly belonged to the ogre, and, impressed with the bogus [Marquise] and [her] estate, gives the [girl] the [prince] in marriage. Thereafter, the cat enjoys life as a great lord who runs after mice only for his own amusement.

I wonder if they could mash that up with the original recipe Rumplestiltskin story where he helps the miller’s daughter marry into royalty?

Sweet, young, poor Cora, grieving for her father and longing for more in life, laments as much to her newly acquired pet cat, the only one she can confess her feelings to. Rumple overhears, interjects, makes the baby deal, but instead of him helping her marry into royalty by spinning straw into gold, he makes the cat magical, and the story plays out similarly to Puss in Boots. When it comes time for Rumple to collect the baby, Cora gets PiB (who is a crafty little bugger) to help her trick Rumple out of the deal. Along comes baby Regina, and she grows up having PiB as a constant companion, as he was her mother’s cat. Eventually, Regina too gains magical power, and in a bid to punish her mother, has her sent to Wonderland. Somehow during this process, either by Regina’s, Cora’s, or Rumple’s hand, PiB has a spell cast on him where he can vanish in one world and materialise in another, meaning he can still be with both of his mistresses, and may play double agent, spying on each of them for the other.

What’s that you were saying before about reading too much into things, Surayya? πŸ˜‰

Now I’m wondering if they’ll mash the two up and it’ll turn out that Puss In Boots became the Cheshire Cat.

Yes and yes! It all fits together perfectly in my head. Really believe that Rumple will be the Crocodile that takes Hook’s hand when he’s out for revenge for Hook’s involvement with his wife. Can’t wait for this ep!

He seems to be laughing at what appears to be Regina unable to cast a spell (just my opinion on the interaction, sure it’s wrong).

That’s what it looks like to me too. He seems to be standing up there beside her, but then her magic fails, and he laughs at her, then confronts her.

Perhaps Once Upon a Tail fits the Cheshire Cat theory. At first, I thought no way, but now I’m starting to wonder. The Cheshire Cat could disappear, which might explain his missing limb. We’re supposed to find out his connection to Regina in episode 5. Could Dr. Whale have been her cat in FTL, since she’s a witch?

Well witches do traditionally have familiars, which are often portrayed as being cats. He was her lapdog in SB coz he was her cat in FTL? πŸ˜‰ This Cheshire Cat theory could work. It’d certainly explain why he was still happily wandering around SB, even with a missing limb, because the Cat could make parts of his body disappear. The Cheshire Cat is famous for his grin, and Mr Anders has a sly one of those himself. I’ve already had Regina pegged as having a tie to Wonderland because I think Cora is QoH. I wonder if the Cat’s ability to appear and disappear anywhere at will meant that he was able to pop back and forth between worlds? Maybe he was Regina’s pet, and she’d send him back and forth between worlds to spy on QoH.

If Dr Whale has a Wonderland connection, perhaps he knew Jefferson, (actually, reading up on my Cheshire Cat facts just now, he was the one who told Alice which direction the Hatter lived in), which could explain why Jefferson knew about the hospital dungeon. Perhaps?

Recently, David Anders confirmed in an interview, “But you learn what world I come from, who I am and it’s really cool.” It sort of makes me wonder if he’s not from FTL at all but from another land.

Insider.com: You’re also starring on Once Upon A Time — what can you tease about season 2?
David: Oh man, you don’t even know. We just finished episode 5, which is gonna knock your socks off. I’m back in a big way! You’ll learn who Dr. Whale is – I’m the only fairytale character who hasn’t been revealed yet, but I promise you, I’m not just a womanizing lech who occasionally heals people. I’m still a ****-hound, but the magic is released so everyone is realizing who they are.

Looking at the source of the interview, I see that the word that’s **** out here is a slang word for something rude, but is also another word for cat. Was he just swearing for the helluvit, or was he dropping a hint? πŸ˜‰

If only 6 out of 10,000 people have managed to guess his true FTL identity, at least I won’t feel so bad when I discover how wrong I was.

    πŸ˜† WORD!

Tail, hey. With a title like that, surely there’s gotta be some sort of animal connection to his identity. But I’m sure I read somewhere during the last day or so that Little Mermaid won’t be early in the season, so I doubt he’s merfolk, and I’ve never bought the Monstro theory, but MANY have suggested it, making it incredibly unlikely, as they’ve hinted that it’ll be a huge reveal that no one’s guessed thus far.
