Leopold strikes me as being a bit…flakey, for want of a better word, to be the mighty King Arthur. There’s no doubt that Leopold is a great, fair, and much loved king, so there’s that similarity, and it’s a good point he may have reacted that way to Regina’s supposed adultery if he’d been through that before. I just can’t really picture Leopold wielding Excalibur.
I was speculating in another thread that perhaps Snow’s mother will be the Lady of the Lake, who raised Lancelot, (having to leave Snow and Leopold to do so, which could explain the complicated relationship Snow is going to have with Lancelot), given that ep three’s title has been revealed as Lady of the Lake. If they were casting someone for that character who looks like Snow’s mother and wanted to keep it under wraps, that may explain why we never heard anything about her even being in the story until we got the ep title.
No idea about the pendant, but there was mention in the podcast for that ep about how there are heart shapes in the buckles on her cloak. Here’s the pic from the podcast post.

The thing that keeps sticking in my head is how Regina was unhappy that the sleeping curse had been broken with a kiss. If Aurora had already been woken long before then, shouldn’t Regina have assumed that sleeping curses could be broken with a kiss, instead of seeming blindsided by it? Anyway, with any luck, if we only get the end of the Sleeping Beauty story in this ep, they’ll later go back to tell the beginning of the story too.
I’m also wondering if the rune/medallion we saw Mr. Gold holding in the new promos is connected to this “evil foe.” In another thread, someone posted some excellent research about how the rune is associated with death and destruction. https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=1444
Could the medallion have once belonged to Mulan, but unbeknownst to her, it was connected to an evil spirit? In the Disney version, Mulan received the crest of the emperor for saving China. On that medallian was a dragon! (I’m thinking this could be Maleficent the Dragon’s tie-in).
Oooo, nice catch! I know that what we’ve seen of that medallion it has some sort of rune-esque symbol on it, but we’ve only seen one side of it, so who’s to say there’s not a dragon on the other side, like the one in the Disney movie had.

It’d make sense if she goes back to being a wolf. It looks from the promo like Regina may have to re-learn her magic, but Red’s magic is a part of who she is, so you’d think she’d automatically get it back.
I’d love for the show’s writers to explore Red’s back-story more and what happened immediately after 1×16 left-off. By the time we saw her in 1×21, Red was in full control of her wolf-shifting and had come to terms with it. One way they could flush out that story is to show how she deals with her phasing into a wolf in SB.
Sounds like a great basis for an ep to me!
No one ever breaks a deal with Rumpel. I think we may see his wrath against Cora since she found a way to renege on her original deal with him. Rumpel using the baby that got away (i.e. Regina) against Cora could be the ultimate revenge (for both Rumpel and Regina, who lost Daniel).
This may actually help me have some more sympathy for Regina, especially if Rumple goes to her, instead of the other way around. Maybe she’ll essentially get conned into acquiring dark magic because Rumple uses her for his own revenge against Cora?
Mr Gold said to August, (when he thought he was talking to Bae), “ever since you crossed the barriers of time and space,” which suggests that when you leave one world, you can land in another world at any time in the future, (or the past).

Yep. Buggered if I remember where, but in some interview somewhere, I’m sure Adam and Eddy said that that is the case. Is it any wonder the kid was in therapy when he’s the only kid in town who ages, and no one else notices, except his mother, who would have probably tried to tell him he was imagining things if he asked her about it.

It’s curious that he’s not that heavily made up, but he would have had to have been the Dark One for ages by that time. Just think how excited he’ll be when the child of the miller’s daughter comes to him for help. Even though her mother weaseled out of giving the baby up, he still got her in the end. *insert creepy Rumple giggle*

I’ve been working under the assumption that Hook hasn’t been in town all along, and the breaking of the curse and/or bringing back of magic will have something to do with him arriving now. I don’t think the curse brought inhabitants of other magical realms to SB, only people from FTL. I know we have Jefferson, and the last time we saw him was in Wonderland, but I’ve always wondered if he found his way back to FTL somehow.

I like the idea that those storm like conditions are a result of Regina having re-learned magic and is unleashing it in a big way. The pics of Regina leaning out the window, holding that book, with Henry hovering in mid air, I think that will be her first magical success. She’ll fail in that scene outside her house from the promo, then go study up, then test it out on Henry and make him levitate, then go throwing people around in that other scene from the promo, then build her powers up to something BIG that results in Snow and Emma being sent somewhere.
That’s a pretty comprehensive case you’ve got there, TheGoldenKey! I never would have considered Frankie as an option, but there are a whole lot of little clues in there that would fit.
