ParticipantCould Charming be any prettier? *swoon* π

Pre season 1 Storybrooke may answer the question of how Mr Gold got Henry for Regina without knowing who he was.
YES, this is definitely something that needs to be shown, and I can’t wait to see how it went down.

ParticipantMy problem with Snowing being Arthur and Guinevere is that really, wasn’t Lancelot her true love? I suppose they could write it in a way that they just had a fling pre-Charming, and there’s no unresolved romance between them, so I could learn to like the idea if it’s done right, but my initial reaction is to not really like it. Not really sure how they could make it work, given the info we have about the character so far. “In his tragic past, he was torn from his true love and banished from the king and country he served.” Which sounds like in the Onceiverse, Lancelot’s downfall is the same reason as in the legend, where Arthur was aware of the affair. If so, and Charming is Arthur, it wouldn’t make sense that this secret that Charming doesn’t know about is a former relationship between them. But then again, my assumptions could be way off, (wouldn’t be the first time :P).

ParticipantThanks for the link!
This bit made me LOL…
RUMPLESTILTSKIN
You read the contract?ARIEL
Every word.A beat.
ARIEL
I canβt have been the first one to read a contract.RUMPLESTILTSKIN
To my knowledge.I can totally imagine his expression as he says that.
It’s an interesting take on the story. My only concern was that she was trying to write Ariel as sort of Belle2.0, with the way she was standing up to and believing in Rumple.
I’m really eager to see what they do with The Little Mermaid on the show.

ParticipantFirstly, I love this thread.
Secondly, should it be moved to the spoiler section?Dorothy, that’s a great catch and I LOVE this idea of Gordie being The Giant!

Just in case people are avoiding season 2 spoilers…
You know, that ties things together quite interestingly! Didn't realize the kid had a name. Enough people have already questioned if Baelfire and August know each other (and are working together) during season 1. Since I want Baelfire to be Jack – I kind of like the idea that the kid that tempted Pinnochio to leave Emma was also Jack's Giant – maybe whatever happened between Gordy and August/Bae bonded them???
The thing that kept me from buying into Bae and August knowing each other and/or working together was that I just couldn't figure how they'd have met. But this new idea of Gordie being the Giant could explain it rather perfectly if he had contact with both of them due to them all being orphans, (obviously I'm also on team Jack = Bae, so am expecting the Giant to be part of Bae's story).
If it were the case that Gordie is our Giant and Bae is our Jack, obviously the story will play out differently to the famous fairytale, because in that story, Jack was a child and the Giant wasn't, and the Giant ended up dead. In our version, they'd be close in age, and we'll see the Giant in the present day. I guess we'd be introduced to him at the same time we meet adult Bae/Jack. Maybe they're still friends and end up coming to town together? Wouldn't that be interesting, especially if they did know August, until he ran off to explore the world and find his Pleasure Island, and now the gang will have a little reunion in SB. Or maybe we'll meet Jack and the Giant outside SB, and something will happen that will result in Jack killing him, (they said Jorge's only in 1 ep after all), and after that he'll find his way to SB. If Jack/Bae and August did know each other at one time, that'd be a way they could work August into season 2. Maybe Jack/Bae could end up in SB because he's looking for his old friend after the Giant dies.

…but now I’m just interested in the name ‘Lampwick’…..
Wikipedia sez that the character was originally Candlewick in the book:
His real name is Romeo, though he is given his nickname on account of his slender, polished build.Phee
ParticipantCan’t wait to see Regina meeting Rumple! I’ve been thinking that he’s where she got her initial powers from. They both hated Cora, (assuming Regina is in fact the miller’s daughter who got away), and I reckon the desire to bring her down brought them together.
Wonder if any of Jefferson’s stuff will be flashbacks, or if it’ll all be SB based, following his reunion with Grace? I’m not expecting a whole ep dedicated to him again this early on, but really hope we get to see more of his history at some point.

ParticipantI’m wondering if we’ll see Daniel in flashback, though. Cora and YoungSnow are in ep 2, I think it was, so I can’t see them dedicating another ep to YoungRegina as soon as ep 5. With the SB pics of Dr Whale, I’m wondering if this will be his flashback ep. If so, it’s possible that he knew YoungRegina and Daniel, so they could make an appearance in his backstory. There’s that pic floating around of David, Noah and Lana just hanging out, having a group hug, so perhaps they’ve all been shooting stuff together?

Yes, I’m guessing either just random towns person or worker who thought it would be funny to dress up too, or perhaps a stunt person.
Stunt person for Hook? Hmmm, wonder if he’s gonna be in this ep at all. Though we don’t know that Hook will be walking around SB looking piratey.
I’m guessing just a flashback, but someone at Fan Forums mentioned a Storybrooke Stables set now. So maybe it’s a ghost or fantasy. If it’s a ghost or fantasy, I sort of want someone to be gaslighting her into thinking that person is the ghost of Daniel like Rumple or someone else that’s out for revenge just because she was gaslighting Henry.
Here’s the pic of the sign for the stables. Was posted on tumblr on Aug 31st.

Could that be where the pic of Josh with the horse was taken? If so, how could Charming and Daniel fit in a scene together, I wonder.Yes, I think it’s just a joke otherwise he wouldn’t be able to release it. I love that he does that.
This one wasn’t from his Twitter though I don’t think, so dunno who actually put it out there.

Those hands on Mr Anders are something else, wow! I wanna say that if it was related to his FTL character, they’d have gone to great lengths to keep the pic under wraps, so the fact it’s out there on the internets makes me think that it’ll just be a Halloween costume. But maybe that’s what they want us to think, so we shouldn’t fall for it? π
As for Daniel being back, that’s a face I never expected to see again and I have no idea what to make of it. Hmmm, very curious indeed! Went back to look at that piratey guy again, but I still don’t reckon it looks enough like Noah Bean.

ParticipantThat’s a stunning pic of Meghan. I totally have a girlcrush on Little Red Riding Hood!

There’s also a scene where Belle looks at Rumpel lovingly, and Rumpel responds, “No has ever looked at me like that. Not even my wife.” So sweet. π
That says so much about the state of Rumple’s first marriage, his wife never looked at him with love. Which begs the question why they married in the first place?
Yes, I loved that line, but I can see why it didn’t make it into the ep because maybe it gave away too much, too soon.
@sdcurtis wrote:
It could have been an arranged marriage. If we remember from “The Shepherd” James (or whatever his pre prince name was), his mother came to him and was talking about the daughter of the grain merchant who had a dowry that could save their farm. Marrying for love back then was a luxury a lot of couples didn’t have. It was always hoped that a daughter would marry into a better position in life, than what she had been born into…at least for the lower classes.
Good point, we’ve certainly seen arranged marriage being talked about in the lower classes before.

We don’t know what kind of person he was like before the Ogars war that he fought in. There’s a lot of story we don’t know still to piece together a picture of what happened.
This is something I hadn’t really considered before, I’d always just assumed he’d always been lowly. But now that I’m thinking about it, that may not necessarily be the case. He could have been better off, not royalty status, but comfortable in life, enough that an arranged marriage with him could be seen as a step up in class for a girl from a poor family. Maybe it wasn’t until after the war incident that he fell from grace and they ended up living in poverty, and if she’d never truly loved him before, that was the final straw, so she left.
