ParticipantSo still no sign of that infamous scene of August at Jefferson’s house, huh? Bugger, was hoping that one would be on there, given that it’s sparked its fair share of discussion.

I never watched Lost, but I think I read somewhere that there were flash-forwards after the first few seasons. Could Emma and MM actually time-jump to the future or potentially realm-jump to another parallel dimension? Wow, wow, wow!
I reckon with so much happening in the present and the past right now that it’d confuse things if they started jumping forward as well. I’m totally cool with seeing some more realm jumping though, and suspect that may well be the case because wasn’t Charming chasing Jefferson around SB?
I’m wondering if this is how we’re going to see the Land of Oz come into play, like Dorthy was transported out of our world and forced to follow the yellow-brick road. We’ve seen hints in Henry’s book of flying monkeys, so it could happen. Also, in the DVD commentary for 1×1, Horowitz and Kitsis pointed out that the hot air balloon in baby Emma’s nursery doesn’t necessarily belong in FTL, but might allude to other stories. Well, the only story I can think of is the Wizard of Oz.
The commentaries are the main thing I’m looking forward to on the DVD. Can’t wait to hear all those fun little tidbits! I love that they had the foresight to include hints like that right back in the pilot. Also, what we’ve seen of realm jumping so far involves tornado-esque conditions. Wonder if they had Dorothy’s method of getting to Oz in mind when they were thinking of how others would realm jump too, so that when they show Dorothy going to Oz, it’ll be an echo of something we’ve seen happen before?

ParticipantEven though it’s only 2 seconds long and there’s no dialogue, it totally made me SQUEE. 😀

I’m inferring you mean Rumpelstiltskin! I would love to see his tale woven into the classic Sleeping Beauty storyline here! Perhaps Maleficient curses Sleeping Beauty, but she pricks her finger on Rumpel’s spinning wheel.
You infer correctly. 😉

I disagree. Regina chose the path of revenge despite the fact that her father and Maleficent tried to talk her out of it.
Her father did a little more than just try to talk her out of it. He begged for his life, then she made a conscious choice to kill him with her own hand anyway.
In an interview, they said that magic was going to be like “currency”. What that means, I have no idea.
Yeah I can’t wait to see what that means exactly. Does it mean it needs to be earned and can be traded between people, even those who didn’t have it before?

I know everyone on Tumblr right now is excited because of the possibility of her being friends with Sleeping Beauty and/or her warrior skills, but I’m a little worried about what kind of “evil spirit” is moving. I wonder if it has to do with Emma’s and Snow’s disappearance. Does it have to do with one of the main baddies like Rumple or Regina or some new baddie?
Given that we’re talking about Sleeping Beauty, perhaps the evil spirit is just Maleficent? Though, given that Sleeping Beauty pricks her finger on a spindle, it’d be surprising if our resident king of the spinning wheel isn’t involved in that story too. I’m really interested to see how they choose to tell the Sleeping Beauty story, and how it’ll be woven into the timeline. Regina and Maleficent’s conversation suggests it all happened around the time Regina met Snow and Leopold.
Unless it was just the falling asleep instead of dying that happened back then, and Phillip doesn’t wake her up until after that conversation between Maleficent and Regina happened? Maybe once word got out that Charming woke up Snow with a kiss, Phillip got it into his head to go find this sleeping princess that everyone talks about, so he can wake her up in the same way? In which case, the “evil spirit” could be Regina’s threat of the curse, and Phillip and Mulan may have to act quickly to find Aurora before the curse hits. Perhaps?
Would Mulan and Phillip being buddies confirm that she’s from FTL, and not some other realm? One of the things that made everyone start to wonder if Mulan would be showing up, was that there was an Asian looking door in the hat, but if she knows Phillip well enough to accompany him on a quest to find his true love, then perhaps she’s not from elsewhere. I wonder if they’re both involved in helping to take back the kingdom, and that’s where they meet, or if they knew each other beforehand.
Obviously if the whole Sleeping Beauty story happened in the past, that’s not even a question to be asking, but the more I think about it, the more I think I like the idea that Aurora is saved closer to Regina’s curse being cast. Remember how when the curse rolls in, there’s a dragon flying ahead of the smoke? Maybe Phillip was in the middle of battling with DragonMaleficent, then the curse starts coming, so she flies off, which is why it was Emma who slew her, instead of Phillip. It’s not that he failed in the attempt, the battle was just interrupted.

Just in case no one has scene it yet, we received our early review copy of the Blu-Rays and I made an unboxing video.
Or view it in HD on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pzu3JrNmjAA
I noticed in your vid that 5 eps had bonus features listed in the insert. Are those the ones with commentary? The holographic cover is super cool. As is your letter opener. 😉

Can you have region free dvd players over there? If yes, you can buy the US version.

I don’t give Leopold nearly the credit of most people to have a CLUE what Regina was up to. He was married to a woman for like a decade that despised him and his daughter. I feel like Regina probably did all kinds of stuff right under his nose, including likely learning some pretty dark magic. And possibly installing a human heart vault in his castle. Plus between the multiple palaces, travel and kingly business, and apparently general daydreaming the guy did, I think he only knew about Regina what she wanted him to know, or planned for him know.
Yep, that. From even before the wedding, Regina wanted revenge on Snow. If Leopold was aware of that, why did he even marry her, let alone stay with her for all those years? I reckon he was pretty much oblivious, whether he was just genuinely distracted the entire time or if Regina cast a dimwit spell on him so he couldn’t clue into what she was up to once she started using magic. Dude was clueless IMO.

That’s a wonderful idea that I hadn’t thought of. While I want Belle to continue to be a strong and compassionate character, I just feel that it would just be unlikely all things considered even on this show, if she suddenly had the idea on her own to run the library.
She wouldn’t even know there was a library in town yet. But I can see her telling Rumple that she doesn’t just want to sit around his house all day, she wants to go out and explore this new world and learn all about it, so he suggests that she’d love to visit the library and gives her a key.
@PriceofMagic wrote:
I think people can sympathise with Rumple more because all of his actions have stemmed from the basic parental instinct to protect his child. He became the dark one in order to protect Baelfire and it’s not exactly clear whether the dark one curse is just power or a separate entity in itself that latches on to hosts like a parasite, influencing its host’s behaviour and actions. Rumple started out wanting to use the power for good but got corrupted in the process. What if the dark one curse is like a little voice in Rumple’s head. He sees the soldiers about to take Baelfire, the dark one curse tells him he needs to kill them all to protect Bae. He sees Bae injured by the cart, the dark one curse tells him the man with the cart did it deliberately and needs to be punished. Belle’s love is a threat to the dark one curse, the dark one curse tells Rumple that Belle doesn’t really love him and it’s all a trick.
That’s an interesting idea about how his curse works. I really like that concept. Also, I agree that Rumple is more sympathetic than Regina, just judging by their motivations. I may soften more towards Regina the more we see of her backstory, but as of right now, I see her as harder to redeem than Rumple is. He made a mistake because he was desperate to protect his son, and ended up being consumed by an all powerful curse against which no mortal soul stood a chance. That’s not to say that I don’t think he needs redemption, because quite obviously he’s done bad stuff, and it seems he hasn’t learned his lesson yet, (I wanted to slap him when he brought back magic), so he’s got some work to do. I want to see him struggle his way towards redemption gradually over the course of the show, but eventually, I really want him to get there, having seen where he originally came from. I’m not feeling that on the same level for Regina…yet.

Why is Rumple using his cane in all the new pictures? I thought, with restored magic, his limp would be healed again…did it not work for him (unlikely!) or is he pretending it didn’t?
I was wondering that too. What I’ve come up with is that the breaking of the curse affected people mentally, but not physically, so whatever form they were in SB right before the curse was broken is how they stay. So Rumple still has a limp, Jiminy is still human, as are the fairies, and Pinocchio is most likely still a lump of wood. And we don’t yet know exactly how magic will work in SB and how it can be acquired. Just because it came back, doesn’t mean that everyone who used to have it automatically gets back those same exact powers, so we don’t know that Rumple has reverted to being his old magical self completely, or even partially, yet.

It’s been speculated that Hook stole Rumple’s first wife so it would make sense if he then went after Belle as well. What if Hook arranged for Smee to “kidnap” Belle then “disturbs” the kidnapping attempt in order to make himself appear to be Belle’s knight in shining armour. Rumple would be suspicious of Hook and not trust him and Belle would think Rumple is just being overprotective.
I reckon the stuff about him having the manners of a gentleman will likely have something to do with him trying to win Belle over, purely as a means to torment Rumple. If Hook sweet talked Rumple’s wife away from him in the past, then he’d know it’d cut DEEP if he did it AGAIN. So if he wants to destroy Rumple, that would be the perfect way to go about it.

Ummm, if smilies bother you that much, you can go into your user control panel – board preferences – edit display options, and select to not display them.
