ParticipantThere’s a “rope” of bedsheets and/or clothing hanging out the window that you can see in a couple of the pics. That says to me that he was trying to escape and Regina busted him and made him levitate to stop him.
But considering I have that theory about Peter Pan being Henry’s father, I’m totally taking this scene where he’s “flying” as foreshadowing. 😛

ParticipantDon’t think these pics have been posted yet:
During the scene Josh goes into Mr. Gold’s Pawn Shop and comes out with a magic potion.

Perhaps Dr. Whale is Merlin! ❗
Oooo, I like that idea!! Wizards & sorcerers, people go to them for healing…like you or I would go to a doctor. And as you say, it could explain his connection to Ruby in Storybrooke. I like this theory A LOT! Good thinking, slurpeez. 😀

Based on the information we’ve already been given, the casting of a bored housewife ready to dump her family to join a band of thieves doesn’t fit with the character of Rumple’s ex-wife.
We know she likely left him, but we don’t really know why. We know that Hordor said: “Did he tell you how he ran and the ogres turned the tide of the battle, and all the others were killed, and he returned home to a wife who could not bear the sight of him? You see, women do not like to be married to cowards.” Rumple’s reaction when Bae later questioned him if his mother left, or died, suggested that there was more to the story than her dying.
If she was a dissatisfied housewife, who thought her husband a coward, and wished for a different man and a different life, it’d be believable if she was attracted to a brazen thief and ran off with him, (or perhaps died as a result of getting involved with him). So the character description for Milha fits well IMO.

I guess Milha could be Rumple’s wife, but since I also believe that Bae is more likely to be Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk and not Peter Pan, maybe Milha was Dr. Whale’s mom at one time since I think it’s more likely that Dr. Whale is Peter Pan, and his mom leaving him was the reason that he never wanted to grow up. Or she could still be Rumple’s ex, and Dr. Whale could still be Peter Pan.
I don’t think that Milha being Bae’s mother, who ran off with Hook, would have to mean that Bae had a link to Neverland, (and by the same token I don’t think she’d have to have any link to Whale if he ended up being Peter).
We don’t know yet if we’ll be introduced to Peter in the same ep where we meet Hook. If in fact Hook IS this Beaman character, and Milha IS Rumple’s ex, then the flashbacks may well be to them meeting in FTL and her leaving Rumple, and the ep could end when they arrive in Neverland, before he actually becomes Captain Hook. That would set up future Neverland eps, where we WOULD meet Peter Pan.
My reasons for thinking that Dr. Whale is Peter Pan:
There’s a valid argument for Whale being Peter. The only reason I’m not on that train just yet is that I have my theory of Peter being Henry’s dad, which wouldn’t work if he was Whale. But with everyone remembering who they are now, they can’t stall long before revealing Whale’s alter ego, and we know that Hook is coming early in the season, so the Peter reveal may happen early in the season too. Even if my above theory about no Peter in the flashbacks were to happen, they could still have Whale reacting to Hook being in Storybrooke, if he was Peter.
Also, by introducing Bae’s mom in episode 4, it would lay the groundwork though for the Bae mystery to start up again since it appears that the first 4 episodes don’t have anything abut Bae in them or very little, so that by the mid-season cliffhanger, there would be ample build-up for fans for finding out who he really is.
Agreed. By the time it got to a mid season break, it’d be about time they dedicated another ep to that storyline. They could have the big Bae reveal, then let us all lose our minds over the next few weeks without a new ep.
Milha being Rumple’s ex might also be a way to add angst to the Rumbelle relationship,
They’ll have to have some Rumbelle stuff early on in the season. If the first few eps deal with the overall catchup of what’s going on in Storybrooke, by ep 4, they could get stuck into some Rumbelle storyline if it’s a parallel to his former life with his wife in the flashbacks.

I don’t think the order of the title cards means anything. Is that why people think sleeping beauty is the first episode?
Mulan was shown before Sleeping Beauty in that sequence. We’re saying Sleeping Beauty is ep 1 because the casting for Prince Phillip said it was for 2×01. There wouldn’t be much point introducing Prince Phillip in an ep that didn’t feature the Sleeping Beauty story.

ParticipantI’m really interested to see how this relationship develops. She’s already gotten close to her mum as a friend, and they’ve had mother/daughter type of moments, so I wouldn’t expect that transition to ACTUAL mother/daughter would be too much of a leap. But it’s not like Emma has been BFFs with David, so they don’t really have any basis for a future relationship to develop from. Though hopefully once her mum tells her about the one armed sword fighting so he could save her as a newborn, and how he almost lost his life in the process, that’ll convince Emma that dad is kind of awesome, and not the flake she’s known him as in Storybrooke.

that’s an interesting possibility. but I want to see how Adam & Eddie would tackle the King Arthur story. like would see Merlin at some point too or the knights of the roundtable?
Well Granny did mention that Red’s cloak came from a “wizard”. I guess most people speculated that she meant Rumple, because he was the closest thing to a “wizard” we had at that point, but if they’re dipping into Arthurian legend now, Merlin is a contender if they want to go back and tell more of that story. But something tells me they’re not necessarily intending to bring in the WHOLE story of Arthur and the knights etc. Sounds like Lancelot has already left that world behind by the time he comes into our story. But I guess if Lancelot is a hit with fans, maybe they’ll keep him around and we could get more of his backstory in the future, which would bring the other characters in too.

Perhaps this blog will help shed light on things. It makes sense that episode 1 was actually episode 2 and vice versa based on the other spoilers that have been given, and the films that we’ve seen being shot.
Well aren’t they tricksy, filming them out of order and confusing us all! 😛

Hmm..I don’t know about Sleeping Beauty being episode 1..
The original casting spoiler for Prince Phillip said he was gonna be in 2×01, so if that’s the case, ep 1 must be Sleeping Beauty.

ParticipantWell, despite that uncanny resemblance, apparently Julian is Prince Phillip: http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/07/26/julian-morris/
How on earth will they be able to find another actor that looks more like Bae than he did? Good luck with that one! LOL -
