Unfortunately for Regina, there aren’t many folks around, (in Storybrooke or FTL) who are in her league. If there’s a problem that’s beyond her means, her only superior is Rumple/Mr Gold, (and also Blue Fairy, but she’s hardly gonna help the likes of Regina). So even though he can play her like a fiddle and screw her over without breaking a sweat, she doesn’t really have any other option than to deal with him. Sucks to be her.

Plus, I didn’t remember that Regina even knew about the savior breaking the curse. When did she get told that bit of information. I remember Rumple telling them in the dungeon about the out-clause, but I don’t remember Regina being informed of it.

From “The Thing You Love Most”…
Regina: What did you tell them?
Rumple: The truth. That nothing can stop the darkness! Except of course their unborn child. You see, no matter how powerful, all curses can be broken. Their child is the key.

And at the end of the ep at the apple tree, Mr Gold says to her, “I would say you think you know exactly who she is.” So while it hasn’t been explicitly stated until now that she’s figured it out, it was implied way back when that she suspected it.

In her deal with Jefferson, she states that he will have what he asks for. However, if she has used the last of her magical items in the hat, how will she be able to rewrite the Jefferson story as he asked her to for his price for their deal?

I guess she can’t, unless it’s some other type of magic and because it’s curse specific, she can still amend it, because it’s different to having to create magic like they did to make the hat work.

Actually, Regina acted as she already knew Rumpel had put that clause regarding Emma into the curse. To me anyway, Regina wasn’t acting like someone who had just learned something had been kept from her.

For sure, otherwise she’d have just killed Emma by now, but she knows she can’t.

I agree that Emma dying isn’t the only way to break the curse, it’s just that if she happens to die, the curse breaks. But I think that if she believes, the curse will also break.

Hadn’t been expecting them to have Henry sacrifice himself knowingly, but the way it played out, it wasn’t as dark as I’d anticipated because he has complete faith that Emma will save him.

IT’S A MIRACLE, we FINALLY have a start date for Australia! May 15th. Was starting to think I’d never see the day.

I went back to watch the second promo. Mr. Gold is talking about magic coming with a price. We don’t see who he is talking with though. I guess I am assuming she comes to the shop to get the hat and he has a talk with her. Maybe he has a small quantity of magic left as well, or maybe he helps her find some; but one thing about Mr. Gold is he realizes that things seldom go as planned. He knows there is a price with all magic. Whether or not he sees what is going to happen I cannot say, but I do believe he wants Emma to believe in the end, and is willing to risk the hat for the possibility of something happening that might make that work.

Good point! Now he knows it’s so close to the curse breaking, maybe he’d be willing to risk giving Regina a little magic if he feels it’ll help his cause.

Thanks for the link! Thankfully we don’t hafta go much longer until we know which ep it’s from.

I’m still inclined to go with it being a dream sequence coz you’d think if it was real, the whole town would be there. I mean, if there’s a freaking tree in the middle of Main St and a bunch of people are tying the mayor to it and screaming at her, everyone in town is gonna be curious and having a peek. And the torches gives it a medieval kinda vibe that’s more FTL than our world. And would Emma really be swinging a sword around with Henry about a foot away from where she’s swinging it?

It occurs to me that perhaps Snow White disguised herself as the executioner. At the last moment, she’ll pop out and defend her man as her companions storm the castle.

That’s what I was thinking might happen too.

That hat box was on the shelf in Gold’s shop as August came through the back door in “The Return” . There is a picture posted on the objects thread. Could just be a continuity error. But I am the keeper of Jefferson’s hat and it was there.

Just went to have a peek at the Objects thread and saw it. Hmmm, seems odd she wouldn’t have held onto it. And why would Mr Gold give it to her? Unless he doesn’t know what it is and that it still contains magic? But surely if Regina asked for any object from the shop, he’d be suspicious and wouldn’t hand it over? Maybe she breaks in with her skeleton keys and steals it? Or maybe he just knows she’ll do that anyway if he refuses to give it to her, so he may as well just give it to her?

I went with Mr. Gold on this one. He’s got stock in both Team Emma and Team Regina. So, no matter who comes out victorious, he still ultimately wins.

True! He’s a sneaky lil devil, that one. 😈 I think it’s gonna be his betting on Team Emma that gets him the goods though. Regina’s going down.

Here is my two cents: I find that the name “EMMA” is Gold’s failsafe word and that he only now is beginning to remember it all. Because he had 28 years to beat the crap out of Moe, why now? I think that the Blue Fairy/Mother Superior is the one who retained her memories on the crossover because she is older than time itself and would have more magical power to help her counter the effects of the curse. The BF is the key… The BF is the one who realized that EMMA is on her own because PC and SW are in SB. Therefore, the BF is EMMAs fairy godmother; she kept an eye out on her as best as she could with her limitations of not being able to leave SB. I bet that she is the one that knew about Emma’s pregnacy and suggested it to Gold that this child would be a great edition to SB. The BF has her own failsafe in Henry now. Thereby, with Henry in SB, the BF creates the BOOK and presents it to MM with the suggestion that Henry could benefit from it. Now we have a way to pull EMMA back to SB and the curse to become the SAVIOR she was meant to become. LOVE THAT BLUE FAIRY! Just my two cents. Enjoy.

Ya know, the one sticking point I had with Mr Gold possibly not always remembering was how he managed to procure THAT particular child for Regina. But your explanation that Mother Superior had a word in his ear about it clears up that problem perfectly! It’d even make sense for Mr Gold to go to the nuns to enquire if there were any orphan babies around, because the mayor wanted one. Did Mother Superior somehow talk Regina into wanting a child in the first place, knowing she’d be able to bring Emma’s child to town? That could explain why Regina waited for 18 years before getting Henry, perhaps the idea just hadn’t occured to her before the lovely Mother Superior suggested it. I’m developing all sorts of new respect for BF right now, so I hope this ends up being true!

BTW, if that meeting in Granny’s B&B when he heard “Emma” was indeed when all his memories came flooding back, imagine the happy dance he did as soon as he got home. Boyfriend woulda been beside himself. LOL
