ParticipantThanks for the better pic, romantic_sheep. Hmmm, interesting. Maybe as the next generation she scores an extra petal on her emblem? That’s all I’ve got off the top of my head. LOL

Oooo-k. So Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and a line from The Golden Bird.
I have a new theorie. I think they use that story as a place holder text, like the Lorem Ipsum. Kitsis&Horowitz probably know the fans will take a close look at whatever they get their hands on, so they use the same story so as not to give anything away.Highly likely! Either that or it’s got some super secret relevance. So either it’s meaningless or very meaningful. Which doesn’t help us much. LOL

Thank you Phee. I totally thought Titania and Oberon from Midsummer Night’s Dream and tried to search for the illustration, but couldn’t find it. And Shakespeare seemed strange to have in the book anyways so i just decided it must be some obscure fairytale that i don’t know. Thank you.
No worries. 🙂 It does seem odd to have Shakespeare stuff in the book. His writings weren’t exactly stories, rather plays and sonnets and whatnot.

ParticipantWell that’s interesting if the text is from a different story, because I just found the original of that illustration and its title is “The Meeting of Oberon and Titania”, by Arthur Rackham. You can see a big version of it here:

Does anyone know what this page from the book is from? What story it is? This is the best screencap i have of it, so if anyone has a better one that would be awesome.

This shot is from Ep 7 when Henry is talking to Graham.
Just went to the ep to see if I could get a better look at the writing..
The king became very angry at _______ and ordered the gardener to keep watch all night under ____ ____.
Last two words might be “the moon” perhaps, it’d fit, but I can’t see them well enough to say for sure. And of course can’t make out the name, which is terribly inconvenient. LOL Looks like she’s a fairy though. She’s got wings.Titania and Oberon are fairy Queen and King in Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and they have an argument. Could that be it?

Based upon things that Regina said in FTL, her entire life post killing the King was based upon trying to retain as much power as possible – it was all about having everyone bow down to her. That doesn’t work out so well if everyone chooses to stay in SB, because even the Mayor doesn’t hold “power” in the way that the Royals did in FTL. And without the curse, Regina as Mayor, holds very little power at all.
Especially considering there would likely be an actual Mayoral election for the first time in forever, and I’m guessing Regina wouldn’t win. Actually, chances are she’d get thrown in jail for crimes commited in another dimension, so wouldn’t even be able to run for re-election. Actually, they may not even bother with an election, coz you’d think that David/Charming would automatically be everyone’s first choice for Mayor.

ParticipantThink that’s it, slurpeez, (I just posted the same link in The Return spoiler section a min ago).
If anything this just convinces me completely that it’s gotta be a dream sequence, and I’ll bet this is the moment, when Emma swings the sword, when Regina will sit bolt upright in bed in a cold sweat.

Mills = A name originally given to one who worked in a mill (occupational) or lived near a mill (descriptive). Possibly from the Gaelic Milidh, meaning soldier. or Latin. Also could have originated from the Greek word for apple: milo.
I love that Mills can refer to both the miller’s daughter story AND the apple thing. Very clever.

Y’all know I’m taking this as a Pinocchio shoutout, right? 😉
Regarding the Liza debate:
Granny: For another thing, Liza, you dress like a drag queen during fleet week.
Ruby: And you dress like Norman Bates when he dresses like Norman Bates’ mother. They were just having jabs at each other’s style, each refering to the other as a man dressed as a woman. Liza Minnelli is a gay icon, (and as hjbau said, Judy Garland was her mother. Judy was also a gay icon, one of the biggest. The term, “friend of Dorothy” for a gay man comes from her character in Wizard of Oz). Many a drag queen has glammed up to impersonate Liza Minnelli. Fleet week is when Navy ships dock and sailors go ashore to get some action. Basically, Granny was telling her she looks like something this forum’s inbuilt censor would bleep out if I actually typed the word. 😛 So when Granny hurled the drag queen jab, Ruby fired back in kind with the line about Norman Bates dressed as his mother in “Psycho”.

Rumple said the dark curse was THE curse to end ALL curses…maybe the curse is supposed to end all magic. He said the true love potion would be the ultimate magic and that you could do anything…including getting magic to destroy itself?
Yep, that’s pretty much what I reckon. He had to gain as much power as possible because it was the only way to ultimately rid himself and his world of magic.

Plus, she’d have awesome costumes. (Personally, I don’t think they’re “funky”, but rather lovely).
The opportunity to get all dolled up in fairytale princess dresses would probably be the deciding factor for me. 😆
I’m not entirely sure that going back will even be an option for anyone, so must admit, I haven’t given any thought yet to the question of who’d want to stay and who wouldn’t.

ParticipantTo each their own, I guess. I personally have plenty of fun letting my imagination run away from me now and then, pondering all the potential “what ifs” based on what we’ve already seen. Doesn’t do anyone any harm if their speculations are off base. The fact that such analysis and speculation can be done with a show like this just enhances my love of it. It draws viewers in and connects them with the storyline and the characters on a whole other level.
