ParticipantHe stumbled and complained of shin splints when he was right next to a tree. Someone on another forum said he looked similar to Superman when he gets near kryptonite. If he was made from a tree (I’m TeamPinocchio) maybe he has some connection to them that affected him somehow.
I thought the line about not lying was a definite Pinocchio shoutout though. 😉

ParticipantI guess she would have considered the wedding ceremony a public humiliation, having to stand in front of a crowd and say those vows to a man she barely even knew.

ParticipantI really like the idea that Regina was the baby that got away, just because it adds a nice new dimension to their relationship. It’d drive him mad every time he had to deal with her, being reminded of how he’d failed in that deal.

I now pity Regina more than before. Simply put.. Regina is not firing on all cylinders, she’s a few fries short of a happy meal, she’s gone to lunch, the lights are on but nobody’s home, she’s crazy.
Yes, pity is what I feel for her after this ep. She made the wrong choice, like, REALLY wrong, when she took that anger that should have been directed at her mother and instead directed it at an innocent child. But considering how abusive her mother was, I guess it’s not surprising that Regina had a twisted view of things.

And I think Regina may be one of the reasons that Rumple wants to do away with magic – not because they are enemies, but because he sees her as a victim as well, even if he doesn’t admit it to her.
Interesting thought. So in screwing her over, he’s actually trying to do her a favour. He knows she’d never give up her own power, but maybe he can do it for her. Hmmm, puts a whole new spin on his motives.

As far as we know Rumpel was already a bad man when he became the dark one.
Really? I didn’t get that at all, actually quite the opposite. The only reason he wanted any kind of power was so he could prevent his son from going to fight in a senseless war. Saving your child’s life is a perfectly acceptable reason to want power to wield IMO.

ParticipantAnd in the letter she gave the Huntsman, Snow said that she knows EQ will never have love in her life because of her, doesn’t she? So I think she must know exactly why EQ hates her.
Maybe we can chalk the line in the pilot up to just one of those things that’s in a pilot that gets tweaked once the show gets picked up? A throwaway line alluding to the iconic “fairest of them all” could be something they’d just chuck in for the hell of it when it’s just a pilot trying to get network execs sucked in.

ParticipantWas just reading another forum and saw someone mention set photos of a scene involving August and Marco so I googled and found this:
http://www.tvequals.com/2012/03/12/exclusive-on-set-photos-from-abcs-once-upon-a-time/
At one end of the street, series stars Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin), Eion Bailey (August Booth) and Tony Amendola (Marco/Gepetto) filmed a scene in Mr. Gold’s Pawn Shop. There’s no telling for sure what was going on in the scene, as most of it took place inside the shop, but it seems to involve all three and what appeared to be a large cuckoo clock. One thing’s for sure, it looks like we’re going to see more of Gepetto’s story very soon. That’s totally Pinocchio checking up on dear old dad. 😉

ParticipantAs of right now, I can’t say I’ve ever actually felt sorry for Regina. I don’t really love to hate her, I just straight up hate her. LOL So I’m interested to see if her backstory will make her at all sympathetic, in the same way that Rumple’s backstory made me sympathetic towards him.

ParticipantHis step great grandmother who is his adoptive mother who hates his grandmother who is his teacher. And his birth mother doesn’t believe him. Poor kid must be SO frustrated.

ParticipantI suspected maybe it was because her secret identity was “the elephant in the room” and it kinda convinces me even more that she’s gonna end up being Regina’s mother.

OK, I just had a thought this morning as to why Henry is frowning in this clip. If it is Snow in the pic, then he may be realizing 😯 what it is that Snow did to EQ and it is upsetting him! 😥 What do you think?
I think that’s a great idea! Wonder if we’ll see Henry trying to tell Emma that he knows why his mother hates Miss Blanchard. Wonder if it’d change his own feelings towards her, knowing what she did?
