What I did think was interesting about the Mad Hatter episode is when EQ was getting ready to leave Wonderland with her Dad. She tells Jefferson that the Queen of Hearts took her father (the thing she loves most) to have leverage against her. This would be parallel to EQ/Regina taking Belle away from Rumple to gain leverage against him.
Yes! I really don’t believe that Mr Gold knows that Regina has Belle locked up. I think Regina would have gone all out to make sure that stayed super secret because she’ll only want Mr Gold to know at the exact moment it’ll benefit her. If the situation escalates to where Mr Gold has the upper hand, then BAM, Regina can play the Belle card and completely throw him off his game.

Depending on how Rumple/Gold handles himself around Belle would be a big factor in how she reacts to him. If he acts like a lovesick puppy around her, she may be just as creeped out as Emma was when she first met him. Wouldn’t you if some random stranger who looked 20 yrs older than you started drooling over you?
…calling you by some name you’ve never heard before and trying to tell you that you’re his one true love. Yeah, I’d be a tad creeped out.

I’ve actually been thinking about this from the opposite perspective. How is it going to look to everyone else in SB if Belle remembers and happily goes to Gold??? Won’t that seem a bit weird and wouldn’t that ruin the reputation he wants for himself in SB? As pointed out above, aside from the fact he is at least 20 years older than her, he beat her father with a cane, and is an incredibly shady “business man.”. Who in their right mind would allow her to get anywhere near him??? And Gold can’t suddenly go running around after her like a lovesick puppy or his reputation will be ruined.
Excellent points. One thing Mr Gold would NOT want to be seen as by ANYONE is vulnerable. Will being confronted with Belle make him not care about appearances any more? Or would he try to maintain his composure and status? Would people actually stand up to him and challenge him for the first time in 28 years to try and protect Belle from him?
There are so many ways this could play out. All I know for sure is that it’s gonna be the greatest scene the show has ever had when he discovers she’s alive. No pressure Mr Carlyle, but I’m expecting to be completely blown away, and you’d best make me weep! 😛

or whether Malificent is a major player or just a washed up unicorn lover.
LOL That was a seriously adorable lil unicorn though, wasn’t it.
All shows have “filler” eps, it’s just the nature of the medium, but IMO even those eps bring something to the show as a whole. Even if an ep like Dreamy didn’t advance the main plot, it still fleshed out the world of the show, (both in Fairytale and Storybrooke), which I think is important because we have to believe these are real places, real communities of real people, so the more we learn about them, the more real they seem.

ParticipantBoyfriend needs to cook up a bottle of magical mouthwash to add to his lil rack of potions. He’s got love now, he can do anything, so there’s really no excuse. 😉

ParticipantMia, those discussions musta been from before I joined up. The other forum I’ve been reading for longer than this one, I’m sure I never saw the possibility come up. It’s no wonder he has such disdain for Regina if she’s the baby that got away.

That’s really ridiculous of Australia though. Which channel is it coming to?
Channel 7. The ads say, “Seven’s new, Once Upon A Time” and I think, “It’s gonna be OLD by the time you get around to airing it.” LOL

ParticipantThanks for that link! I can’t freakin’ wait for this ep!
Gotta love how everyone was so hung up on speculating that Regina was the miller’s daughter, yet I don’t think I heard anyone suggest she was the miller’s granddaughter. Seems so obvious now! DUH.

Finally, I think the reason Henry had a funny look on his face at the start of episode 17 is because this may have been the first time he came across the story. I think this was one of the stories August added to the book: how young Snow White caused the Evil Queen pain. That is why Henry was curious to discover it.
Oooo, I like that theory! It’s about time the kid started to notice that something is different about that book.

I do believe Jefferson’s wife got stuck in Wonderland, and that’s why Jefferson was so reluctant to go back.
But then why didn’t he show any sign of wanting to go look for her if she was just trapped there? Or if she died there, why wasn’t he more torn over going back to the place he lost her? To me, his line about hating Wonderland was more of an exasperated, “I hate having to deal with the annoying creatures in this ridiculous place,” as opposed to a dislike for a place where he suffered a traumatic event like losing his wife.

ParticipantWe figured we’d let you have something over us…just this once. LOL 😉
I’m really stunned by how long they’ve been teasing it for here in Oz. Has been going on for months. They seem to be starting to advertise it more often now, but still no start date on the ads. Honestly, it’s getting ridiculous.

ParticipantI’m not ruling out Regina’s mum being QoH yet. Yes, I know they had a different actress to play her, but if they were trying to keep her identity secret, which they did by having her face covered and her voice muffled, then they’d hardly hire Barbara for that ep and have her name in the credits. So until proven otherwise, I’m sticking with my conspiracy theory. 😛
