Phee Fish interpretation is actually a homage to Eartha Kitt I believed who played another version of Catwoman. I realized that in the way she handles her hands almost like claws and the way she speaks. I bet Jada Pinkett studied Eartha Kitt. She just doesn’t purr and not completely over the top with the catness.
Oh yeah, think I might have seen an interview where Eartha Kitt was mentioned, and that has absolutely been an influence in Jada’s performance. The over-the-top-ness of her just took some getting used to for me. How she ever gets anything done with those talons of hers I dunno, but I guess they’re no more impractical than some of her (fabulous) costume choices. LOL They’ve done a great job of making her the embodiment of a comic character with how unapologetically 10000% she is in every way.

(Anyway. just had to get that outta my system because I’m not even really a Metallica fan, so singing a line from one of their songs over and over in my head was starting to bug. LOL)
So why am I guilty, because they are just kids and part me go Aww and the main part of me goes stop that, no kissy, kissy, go do homework and stop doing that because you are far to young and just no, nah, nope, never, not yet,
LOL I feel you, Ranisha. I’ve never shipped BatCat before so wasn’t expecting to become enamoured of this pair of teens, but as soon as they met I wanted to ship BabyBatCat and felt weird because they’re only kids. I love how she’s telling him and teaching him things that will help form him into Batman.
I love how they’re portraying Bruce in a way that we can see the roots of Batman starting to take hold in him. Can’t be an easy thing to approach writing, but I’d say they’ve done it perfectly so far.
In the last ep I fell in love with Alfred. He’s been growing on me with each passing ep, and his reaction to the BabyBatCat food fight was lovely, and then seeing him kicking it and taking names, just, LOVE HIM!
I like the dynamic they’ve had a few times where it’s like Alfred and Jim are both in somewhat of a parental role when it comes to looking after Bruce. I like how they’re laying the foundations for these relationships that we know are gonna last for a long time.
Penguin is brilliant, he’s so delightfully diabolical. He’s a mastermind but also out of his ever loving mind all at once. The reveal that he’s been working for Falcone was amazing. He’s got all the big bads wrapped around his finger and is playing them like a pro.
Fish took some warming up to for me, but once I got used to her over the top style, it seemed to fit just right. Dunno if I think she’s gonna end up dead or not, because it might be too obvious if she does, but I’ve gotta believe they named her Fish because Penguin is eating her alive and I just think that’s so clever.
Harvey Bullock has the best lines. On the Legends Of Gotham podcast they reckon that when Nygma snaps it’ll be because of something Harvey does because he always seems to be the one who puts him down, and I’d say that’s a pretty good theory. If anything happens to Harvey I might cry.
My one big gripe with the show at the moment is Barbara. I started out liking her because she wasn’t listening to Montoya because she believed in Jim. But then she started to annoy me when she was insisting on knowing everything about his work, and coming back to Gotham when he’d sent her away to protect her, and then going straight back to Montoya after writing her “Dear Jim” note. He deserves so much better than her, and I hope that in this version of the story they don’t end up getting married. I know Barbara and Jim have a kid in the comics, so I’d rather they went the route of her finding out she’s pregnant before the season is over, but it doesn’t make them get back together. They’ve said that Jim’s gonna become involved with Leslie Tompkins, and I already like him with her more than Barbara even though we haven’t seen them interact yet.
Anyone else notice that the ship is the Jolly Rodger?
So this must take place either before Hook retrieved it in the Missing Year OR BB survived and he was the one that Hook traded the ship for the bean and takes place Post-Curse 2.
If they expect me to buy that not only did Blackbeard survive the bubbly sharks but his costume also survived being torn to shreds, I’ll roll my eyes so hard they’ll end up on the other side of the room. I’d say it’s more likely that it’s before Hook got the ship back. If Blackbeard had sailed off to Arendelle, at least that’d explain why Hook hadn’t found the ship.
Looks like Puck is having a grand time making new friends, INCLUDING THE DUCKIES, this makes me so happy!!! 😀
I wonder if the hat is going to take away Rumple’s powers which Rumple doesn’t realise. He thinks it would just mean he’s free of the dagger’s control when in fact the dark one becomes it’s own entity (maybe Chernabog) The human hosts could actually be the dark one’s prison hence why stabbing the previous dark one only transfers the dark one entity to a new host.
That could be interesting. Maybe the Dark One Curse was created as a means to confine Chernabog, because he couldn’t be killed, (dark needs to exist to balance out light), so they contained him in a controllable flesh suit as the next best option.
That’s one thing that might make Rumple still redeemable for me, if they play up that it’s not really HIM we’ve been seeing, but rather the Dark One growing so strong that he’s completely overtaken the actual human Rumple, who is curled up sobbing in some quiet corner of his mind while all this crap has been going down. Though, that wouldn’t really fit with his pained expression when Belle was apologising to him
In regards to Ursula, I wonder if they are going the PotC Calypso route, goddess trapped into human form.
Wonder if they’d let OUAT riff on such a recent live action franchise, (that’s still ongoing)? Frozen is one thing, but PotC is a bit of a different beast. I guess the PotC take on Calypso is over with now though, so maybe they’d let them do something similar? Would they tie her in with Davy Jones as well, I wonder? I really liked what PotC did with those two characters, (though Davy freaked me out because octopus phobia).
Just got back from Bryan Adams concert and major feels with lots of his love songs ..
Ah, you went to see Bryan?! My BFF and I did the Meet & Greet with him last time he toured here. I had an old pic of when we met him at an airport back in the 90s and said we wanted to recreate the photo in the M&G. He’s such a cool guy and never fails to put on a fantastic show! And yes, yes with all the beautiful and/or heartbreaking love songs.
PS. Don’t worry Jo, I haven’t seen Nightmare Before Christmas either.
