ParticipantI hope changing the story is something the author can’t do. My head canon is that he only records stuff and the only ones who can change it are the characters. That’s what I hope the ultimate outcome is.
I agree. If the author is able to control things then it takes away everyone’s free will as they are forced to play the role they’ve been handed in life whether they want to or not. What’s the point in Regina being good if someone else is going to tell her whether she gets a happy ending or not, and even with all her good deeds, they might turn around and say you can’t have a happy ending anyway. The characters should be able to make their own choices in life, for better or for worse and have to deal with the consequences of those choices, not be able to just have a happy ending written for them.
I know most of you all don’t like Hook but he took control of his destiny and decided to change for himself. He didn’t need no author to give him a happy ending. It’s all about the characters’s choices. Regina chose evil, therefore path to a happy ending was never going to be an easy one. She said it herself if she hadn’t chosen evil, maybe her life wouldn’t have turned out the way it has.
I would’ve preferred to see Hook struggle more with his redemption arc. He’s had it a bit too easy in comparison to Rumple and Regina.
That’s why I feel like this whole finding the author thing is a ret-con because I think we’ve seen in past seasons with almost every villain, they’ve all had to make choices and those choices define who they will become.
I agree. Plus “villains” aren’t supposed to see themselves as villains in their choices as actions. For example, Regina felt she had justification to go after Snow the way she did because Snow’s blabbing caused the death of Daniel in her eyes. Regina didn’t do it because she felt like she had to be a villain.

Participantif the hat was used to trap dark creatures…. I wonder why no one ever tried to trap the Dark One. I mean it’ have been easy too. Zoso was under Dude-With-Face Guy’s control presumably for awhile. Sorcerer could have easily put a sleeping spell on him, took the dagger, summoned the dark one, sucked him into hat, goodbye dark one…. Unless…. Sorcerer is The Original Dark One:o
Interesting theory. It could be one of those things where the sorcerer created it for the intention of good (ridding the world of “dark” creatures) but then it’s purpose got corrupted and it started being used for evil and the sorcerer regretted ever creating it.
How has the apprentice lived so long if only the dark one is supposed to be immortal?

ParticipantI would’ve said blue and black/navy.
I think it’s made of that shimmery material that can change in different light.

ParticipantDay 27- Most Obvious Plot Device
Snow splitting her heart to save Charming- The ability to do so came out of absolutely nowhere and the audience had been led to believe that a crushed heart was final. Not to mention it’s biologically impossible to split a heart in half and survive, it’s not like Regina cloned the heart, she literally twisted it in half like a kinder egg. The ridiculousness of this plot device actually takes away from the powerful scene of Charming’s sacrifice (which was wasted anyway due to Regina and not Emma being the one to defeat Zelena. There was no need to travel back to Storybrooke in the grand scheme of things).
Second place goes to the gauntlet- As Keb said, they had Anna right there which would’ve been the perfect way for Belle to find out the truth about Rumple if they had just let them interact.
Third place goes to Henry- How else can you describe his role than that of the plot device. He literally came into the scene in 411 just to knock stuff of the shelf which just so happened to contain the gauntlet so Belle could find it. The he left the scene and the next time we see him, he’s just so happened to find the author’s secret room.
(On a side note about the gauntlet, why was it treated as such a big secret Rumple was deliberately keeping from Belle when it was so clearly just stashed on a shelf collecting dust all forgotten. Surely if Rumple was trying to keep it hidden from Belle, he would’ve had it in his safe? Also, Belle did inventory of Rumple’s shop during 3B and in 4A after Elsa breaks in, shouldn’t she have found the gauntlet then?)

ParticipantDay 26- Least Favourite Plot Twist
Neal being dead if not for sharing Rumple’s body then Neal dying- The CGI for the body sharing was bloody awful and freaky in the “kill it with fire” sense. Also it was a waste of a character who was the bed rock for the show. If Neal’s death had been given the gravitas it deserved since that was a MAJOR death in the show’s mythology then it would’ve been interesting to see how the other characters cope with that, instead it’s just seemingly been ignored. It was a sloppy way to end the CSF triangle, and was also kind of a disservice to both Emma and Hook since Emma didn’t “choose” who she wanted to be with so Hook “won” by default of the other guy dying rather than on his own merits. At the very least they could’ve de-aged Neal back to Baelfire so there was still the tragedy of “Neal” being gone but you still get the storyline potential of Baelfire for Henry and Rumple.
Second place goes to Tamara being evil and also a secret minion of Peter Pan who was also cheating on Neal with Greg who also thought she was working for a company getting rid of magic but was being lied to- It was too much. Why couldn’t Tamara have been a nice normal fiancée? Instead of killing Neal, they could’ve had him live in New York with Tamara and Henry could be visiting when he wasn’t required on-screen instead of just being a plot device who appears and disappears when needed.
Third place is every villain on the show so far somehow being tied to Henry’s family tree either through genetics or near adoption.- Is it too much to ask to have a villain NOT related to Henry’s family tree?

ParticipantThere’s an inconsistency in Chernabog’s size. When he’s perched on the clock tower, he looks huge with the clock tower being dwarfed by him. When he’s facing off against Regina and Emma, he’s only slightly bigger than they are, about 7 or 8 foot.

ParticipantIn some of those photos where Lana’s coat is open, she doesn’t seem as “svelte” as we normally see Regina.

ParticipantSneak 2 and 3 are basically the same peek just split in half. Kind of feel cheated there.
On the plus side, I’m excited to see this episode.

ParticipantDay 25- Favourite Plot Twist
Pan switching bodies with Henry- Having to play Panry showed that Jared Gilmore could actually act brilliantly when he is given something to actually do beyond wide-eyed believe in yourself and you can achieve anything Henry. In fact I preferred Panry over normal Henry. Panry had relevance to the plot, Henry now is just a walking talking plot device. Jared’s getting too old to still play Henry as a cute and innocent little boy, he needs to be involved in the plot more in his own right rather than just propping up the other characters. At least have him make a contribution by making help Belle when it comes to research.

ParticipantImpregnate! OH MY GOD xD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, im sorry, that is SO my humor *composes self* Okay. Yeah, so, uhhh smoky mind control breath eh?….I like it. Maleficents horns were crooked. And I really like Ursula’s tentacles. Very well done.
If that was a reference to what I think that was referencing, then where the hell would Maleficent have got that idea from?
Green breath is not a good look for Cruella, it’s basically the visual form of halitosis.
Calling It Now: Cruella’s dogs are named Jasper and Horus
It’s Jasper and Horace. Horus was the eagle head guy from Egyptian mythology.
