ParticipantYou know what I noticed between Emma and Hook making out at Robin’s funeral and the second sneak peek? The sky changes from daylight to night time. Now assuming everyone went straight to Granny’s after the funeral for Robin’s wake, and considering Hook appeared just after everyone had left the funeral, what took Emma so long to get to the wake? It’s seems that CS banging each other on Robin’s coffin might not be out of the realm of possibility unfortunately. They were very into each other to the point that they clearly wouldn’t put their reunion on hold, plus making out then cutting to black is screen code for sex.

ParticipantI read somewhere (can’t remember where unfortunately) that the whole “tis better to have loved and lost” spiel was never intended for romantic love. It was meant about friendship as in it was better to have known this person as a friend than to have never met them at all. Romantic love wise, heartbroken people tend to live shorter lives so that saying is incorrect.

ParticipantI thought Hook look a little less into it in that scene too @nevermore
I was reading that link you posted and it mentioned a certain triangle in Lost. We often compare CS to Spike and Buffy and how unhealthy that was (even though that was the intent of the show), but reading that link reminded me of another couple that perhaps represent CS more accurately: Sawyer and Kate from Lost which coincidentally is the same show that A&E worked on before OUAT.

ParticipantSo was Hook just waiting outside for Emma to give him a signal when to come in? He got there awfully quick after the surprising thing that no one knew was going to happen happened?
So Emma smiles when Hook says “now I’m back”. It’s just one of those things that doesn’t sit right. It’s almost like rubbing it into Regina’s face that Emma’s boyfriend is now back alive whilst Regina’s lays cold in the ground. Emma could’ve at least had the decency to look awkward especially as Regina was looking at her. Instead it seems like she’s going “yep, MY boyfriend is still alive”.
Could Emma not have waited until AFTER Robin’s wake to tell Regina about Hook’s return? You know, actually give Regina some space and time to grieve. How was Emma expecting that conversation to go?
Emma: Hey, Regina! I know you just buried the second love of your life today but I just wanted you to know that my boyfriend is back alive whilst yours remains dead. Come on in Hook!
Hook: Ta-da!

ParticipantI think the main problem with CS isn’t necessarily the idea of CS itself per se but rather all the factors around it. These are the 3 main problems:
1. CS has become the main focus of the show. Everything else is pushed aside in favour of CS, the plot is only there to serve CS and other ships get wrecked or pushed to the background so that CS can be showcased. The writers don’t seem to understand that not everyone likes CS.
2. Hook- Hook is a creator’s pet. He meets all the criteria necessary to be considered one. The problem is Hook has so much potential that could be utilised to make him a more rounded character yet the writers ignore it to keep him static and change other characters to make Hook fit in rather than vice versa. Hook has shown no remorse for his past misdeeds yet is instantly forgiven by the other characters for no reason at all. Both Regina and Rumple had to work for their redemptions yet Hook was given a free pass. Rumple is now vilified yet again for no good reason other than the writers can’t be bothered to write him any other way and the Rumple/Hook rivalry is constantly churned up despite the fact both men should’ve put it to rest by now. Even if they don’t like each other, which they shouldn’t, they should’ve at least decided to stay out of each other’s way. All it’s doing now is to showcase Hook as “good” and Rumple as “bad” yet Hook antagonises Rumple then cries foul when it comes back to bite him in the backside. See 4A for a prime example. Hook blackmailed Rumple more than once for no other reason than his own selfish desires, Rumple got the upper hand and Hook didn’t like it. I still think Hook was more capable of doing more than he did to work against Rumple despite Rumple having his heart because of the evidence we’ve seen so far when it comes to ripped hearts, but it seems the writers just wanted to go for “poor Hook, bad Rumple”. Another example would be the DO mess in 5A. The evidence of what we’ve seen does not gel with what the writers want us to think. It seems the writers are more in love with Hook than the fans.
3. Emma- She’s the biggest problem with CS in that her whole character has been overhauled in order to make CS work. She is not the Emma Swan from season 1, 2, 3A. Even giving her lee way to evolve from being a closed off individual to a more open one, she still shouldn’t be acting like she is now. She has forsaken all the other important relationships in her life including her son in favour of Hook. Everything she does revolves around Hook. Her whole life now revolves around Hook to the point that she’d risk everything including her son’s safety to get him back because she can’t bear to be without Hook. She’s become desperate and clingy. Even Hook himself has said more than once for her to let him go yet she still clings to him. Her making out with Hook at Robin’s funeral when Robin’s casket wasn’t even in the ground yet was disgraceful and disrespectful. The Emma of old would never have done that. She may have hugged him then and there but she would’ve waited for a more appropriate location. I’m surprised this Emma didn’t just bang Hook on the coffin just to make a point of it. Emma being killed off the show would be the kindest thing at this point, before she sinks any lower than she already has.
In conclusion, the biggest problems pertaining to CS are Hook, Emma, and the amount of time devoted to showcasing this ship.

ParticipantWasn’t it called RumQueen or something?
I think if there were any shippers of that ship, they jumped ship as soon as Rumple banged Cora.

ParticipantWhat I would rather have is Belle just accept the darkness and have them be a little evil duo, but I know I’m not going to get that.
I agree, it would be great to see RumBelle causing troube for the “heroes” after how badly the “heroes” have treated them over the course of the series. I wish Lacey had been saved for next season.
The reason why RumBelle TLK didn’t work is because both of them are cursed. Rumple as the DO and Belle with the sleeping curse. We’ve seen before with Snowing in season 1 that a TLK between two people can’t work so if RUmple does want to wake Belle, he’s going to have to give up being the DO.

ParticipantI love how Regina’s voice changes. From her “rip his throat out” in her evil Queen voice to “but now I know that’s wrong” in redeemed Regina’s voice.

ParticipantReads a little more like a rip-off of Loki and Thor in the Thor movie, to me. At least the setup. SFG
I also thought the same thing.
I thought the same thing too. Plus wasn’t OUAT Hades supposedly the younger brother? All they needed to throw in was that Hades was secretly adopted then they’d have their own version of the Thor movie.

ParticipantHad Hook not been written at the expense of other characters, he probably could have grown on more people.
Oh he’s grown on plenty of people, just take a gander at Tumblr, shows Twitter, and the shows FB. Hating Hook is a minority opinion in the audience. GA does indeed love him, he tracks well with the audience he’s easily one of the most popular characters on the show.
I’ve not been Hook’s biggest fan but I didn’t mind him last episode. I think Hook works best as part of a broship rather than a romantic ship, he’s always at his best when he is interacting with another male character instead of Emma. The problem with CS is that in order to make it work both characters have been forced into a role that doesn’t suit them. Emma’s character has been butchered whilst Hook’s character can come across as very two faced in that, with Emma he’s made to act like a puppy dog whereas with others he’s able to act more in character.
