To answer your other question: Easily as Milah left Rumple, I’d have to guess not. At least, on her part. There’s a saying I know about people who date married people: If they’ll do it with you (cheat on their spouse by dating you), they’ll do it to you (cheat on you). Milah had a problem with selfishness, and it manifested itself, in part, with a lack of loyalty. Hook would have eventually been victim to that, when her heart became restless again, and it would have. As for Hook, I think he really did love Milah. I am not sure it was truly mutual. I think they both filled a need they both had, for different reasons, “in the moment”.
That’s an interesting thought. Hook and Milah’s “love” was based on Hook fulfilling Milah’s need for adventure. We know Hook is a bit of a womaniser so perhaps he didn’t want to spend his entire life hopping between women. When Milah was dying she told Hook that she loved him but he never said it back to her so perhaps the role Milah played for Hook is that he could return to a warm bed every night.
Perhaps Hook’s revenge against Rumple is more about his hand than Milah?

I like your theory but I don’t know about her being a maid, because one of the only known facts about Cora is she was the millers daughter, which would make you assume she worked in a mill.
Not necessarily. Being the miller’s daughter just means that Cora’s father was a miller.

Read my post. It directly addresses that. Sorry for it’s length, but it’s worth it.
I’m in the process of reading it. 🙂
I get that Hook is your favourite character and you want him to stick around. He’s not mine, I don’t really care what happens to him. I like him but I don’t love him.
I don’t want them to redeem every single villain that pops up on this show. They’re in the process of redeeming Rumple and Regina. For me, that’s enough. If they redeem Hook, why not redeem Cora as well?
I don’t want them to say all of Hook’s behaviour is because he wasn’t loved. I don’t want the reason he became a pirate and decided to take revenge against Rumple is because his daddy didn’t hug him enough as a kid. Hook is a bully and that is before Rumple killed Milah.
Hook is one of those characters where the badder he is the more you love him. They can’t keep him at full on villainy if they want him to survive on the show but at the same time it wouldn’t be right to turn him into one of the good guys.
Because we’re not going to agree whether Hook should stay or go, I’m going to change the subject slightly.
One of Hook’s main reasons for revenge against Rumple is Milah’s death. Do think Hook and Milah had True Love or was it just love?

He will loose his memory because of this hit from the car and later when he get it back he hound Rumple again. 😉
How long until Rumple gets fed up of Hook hounding him again? If Hook were to lose his memory, he’d probably get it back by this season’s finale which would set Hook up to continue his revenge next season. However, would Rumple just sit idly by whilst Hook does his worst? No, Rumple would probably kill Hook and try and hide it from Belle because it would be more beneficial for Rumple and safer for Belle if Hook was out of the picture.
So Hook staying in Storybrooke not only hinges on what Hook does but what Rumple does as well.
Also, realistically, how long can they drag Hook’s revenge plot on for before the audience gets fed up of it?

ParticipantOncewatcher- How would you describe Hook’s personality? As many words as you can.
One of the words I would use to describe Hook is determined. He is determined to get his revenge on Rumplestiltskin. He won’t stop until Rumple is dead.
However, I don’t think they will kill off Rumple. He is an important part of the show.
So what is Hook going to do? Killing Rumple is not an option, Storybrooke is not big enough for the both of them. Is Hook to suddenly decide that he’s quite happy to let Rumple live despite spending centuries hunting for a way to kill him. That doesn’t sound like the Hook we’ve been watching, it doesn’t sound like a natural progression of Hook’s character.
Sometimes characters dictate the story. If something occurs that seems out of character then the audience is going to notice and they will call the character out on it.
If Hook were to leave the show, how would you have him leave? Blaze of glory or suffer badass decay?

Some names are too long to write out in full especially if used several times in a post.
