ParticipantMy point is that the Hero/Savior is always a fighter for justice. It’s part of their archetype. So for Emma Swan to be so blase about petty and senseless murders from the man she loves, to wave off the victims and care more about “well you’re not murdering anyone now” makes her character seem hollow, disingenuous, and silly. And while writers do not have to be a slave to the trope and its established characteristics, taking away or adding a new one shouldn’t hurt the character.
all this and a bag of chips. #RumplesGirl

ParticipantI tell you rumple storyline would have made a powerful tv series in its own. Between Bae/Neal Regina Cora black fairy blue fairy Belle peter pan and gideon that is one dynamic deep enthralling story.

ParticipantMichael I think you missed my point I didnt use sleepy hollow as an example of ratings success but it’s an example of show that moved on without their female lead. If jmo left the show they are either going to end it or keep moving forward without her. Shows do that. Simply put.
However I doubt jmo or anyone is leaving for the matter.

ParticipantWhile I lean to Emma will get her happy ending. If Jmo leaves ( doubt she will) there is a possibility Emma could die with the peace and happiness to know her family is safe and protected. Import female and male lead characters die. Sleepy hollow is an example. And yet that show is trucking onward without her.
Also I agree Rg all this happiness and hope stuff is so perceptive because let’s say characters story got switch henry died in the end will this show be about hope to all. For some it might for others it would be tragic. Let’s say Emma died but you see her at peace in the afterlife realm watching her family grow and expand as some celestial being. For some that be hopeful for others not so much. And some it’s bittersweet. Another example what if Hook really remained dead. The other characters mourn his loss but eventually find happiness with those who are with them. Some will find it about hope others will scream hope is loss. At the end as Rg remarked hope is subjective to perception and personal wants/desires. I hope for what I think and want to occur therefore if it happens it’s hope and good and happy ending True to story etc. Etc. but if it’s not then it’s tragic and broke all sense of hope every that this show try to convey.
To me It’s about money and business and what’s popular or not and has little to do with some powerful deep message that goes beyond what’s marketable and profitable at the time. I loss hope that this show goes deeper than that eons ago.

ParticipantMy silly headcanon Pan the Pied Piper swayed him to Neverland and after some decades or centuries? He escaped, came back to Enchanted Forest, meet Prince Emma, became heroic Knight fell in love, got married, sired Prince Henry, died in some heroic battle protecting the kindgom. lol 😀

ParticipantOh Nessa dear, I miss her!
Anyway I am with WickedRegal, the answer.
@Michael there are fans who miss him and would love to see Michael Raymond-James/Neal on the show ago. Sure there are fans who don’t want to see him again ( And I am referring to those who both love and loathed Neal) but there are some fans who do want to see him again. Even a Matt from TV Line was excited along with countless other fan just to see a glimpse of Neal in 512 100th episode. Not to mention some were excited to see Baelfire/Neal reference in the mid finale of season 6 simply as painting. I can only imagine how happy many would be to actually have Nealfire be alive in the wish realm.
Some don’t like Neal, just like some don’t like countless other characters on this show. I can’t think of one character that is free of the love and the hate that comes within this fandom. Its just the way it is.

Participant@Michael I don’t think this show is suppose to go past one season, Its a mini-series event.
Also not sure what Ouat has to do with it? EC is closer to Game of thrones and Westworld which is the type of the audience I think EC is going for.

ParticipantWaves Hi gang, long time now see! winking at you @WickedRegal and @TheWatcher.
I must honestly say I enjoy the cinematic landscape and colors of EC . That was just beautiful.
EC pique my interest. Its very intriguing and has a lot of plot points and unanswered questions to make me come back. One things for certain I am on this poppy seed yellow brick road to the end. I just have to know how this story plays out!
Dorothy and Scarecrow don’t hate it, don’t love it, but very much okay with it. I honestly have no objections with them becoming a couple in the end. Hey I always thought Dorothy and Scarecrow had a thing so this works. LOL
Dorothy as a nurse I love, her desire to want to help and save really comes through. Her being POC heroine also is a nice touch. But beyond that.. Dorothy is? I agree it appeared she really accepted this world rather quickly. I would be going insane and weeping in a puddle of I just want to go back home. Get me out of this crazy place where people are stuck in tree mud goo.
There is a lot of historical biblical, religious, pagan, political, patriarchy vs matriarchy symbolism going on there. Cross, Beast, Flood, closing of temples, “nuns”, magic vs science, mages, healers, apothecary. It made me think of the Roman Catholic Church absorption of the Celtic Druid culture. All in all that symbolism I found to be very appealing.I love the depiction of the Witches, they lost their power, they want it back. They are so different from each other and far more bonded-connected in their power. Also RIP Wicked Witch of the East, how I wanted more of you.
Tip’s storyline piques my interest the most, I can’t wait to see more of him/her?
The Wizard is just…I do not like him, and I guess that is sort of the point.
There are so many names and characters I am learning, but overall I am enjoying this series. I don’t regret the two hours I spend on this show, and can’t wait to see more. Its dark, its different and simply want to learn the world of EC!
I love world building, I love learning about new species and cultures, and the dynamics of another world. I guess that comes that mini sociologist aspect to my personality.
I have some mild Theories, Dorothy’s is so non baffle because deep down she feels a connection because this is her world. Her bio mother is the missing fourth Witch. Her father is someone from this world as well or maybe not. Crack theory the Wizard is her father, he is from our world . He doesn’t know that she is his daughter. Crack theory two the Guard hunting her is her father.
As for cancellation isn’t it suppose to be a mini series event not an actual show that occurs season to season. I expect it to be what it is, ten episode of escaping into another world and story then chapter closed.
