One other little thing, I loved that he introduced himself to Regina and Cora the same way. With the little bow and the “Rrrumplestiltskin.” And the added touch of, “My name. I think you’ve earned it” for Cora was great! Aw, I’m so sad how it ended.
I cried SO HARD when Rumple called Belle on the phone. OMG. That heartfelt conversation! T_T But I can’t say that it’s my least favorite part. It’s actually one of my favorites, because it was so well done.
[adrotate group="5"]riddleravenParticipantHi, I don’t mind having read that–it was cool. But a lot of that is spoiler-y! Especially for a community that doesn’t even like to know episode titles in advance 😉 Could you just add a note so people know? This actually reveals a lot.
riddleravenParticipantSo good shouldn’t be born either, it’s made.

IRumple was so off-kilter he even asked her about memory spells, in almost the same little desperate tone as he once asked Charming for dating advice
Oh, that made me so sad for a second! Poor Rumple!
Great replies! Do you think Regina has really fallen for Cora’s tricks this time? I can’t decide if she’s actually trusting her so that she’ll feel betrayed in the end or if she’s going to feel vindicated for not trusting her and finally kill her. I can see her turning the tables on Cora eventually.
riddleravenParticipantSo Rumple learned to spin from the “spin”sters. That’s funny. xD

I liked that it was during the chase with the Giant that it was revealed that he was David. It reminded me of the story of “David and Goliath”.
To Regina, this was probably a slap in the face, to be demoted from “Prince James” back to the lowly “Shepherd David”. He was no longer the beloved Prince.
I never thought about either of those points! Good job.
riddleravenParticipantWow, gypsy. That’s awesome.

Hmm! I dont believe that. Do you ? But of course Snow would. It’s that whole ‘You’re either born with a good soul or a bad soul’ discussion.
I don’t know if even Snow believed what she said. She always tries to see the good in everyone. So I don’t think she thinks anyone is born with a bad soul. Therefore, she can’t believe that anyone is born with a good soul either. Of course, people aren’t always that logical with what they believe. Anyway, I think she just said that to Charming to reassure him and because she doesn’t like to think that he could’ve been as bad as the real James and maybe just because she has “blind, love-goggles on” like someone said on The Other Side of the Mirror podcast.
Nature vs Nurture is a big theme for this show. I think that biological parents and adoptive parents are a big part of that. What do you think the writers are actually trying to say about it? I think that they believe nurture determines who you are. Because “no one is evil for evil’s sake” in this show. But sometimes I wonder. Henry is most like The Charmings, and that’s his nature taking charge, not his nurture.

It’s really brilliant that they brought that up using two twin brothers raised differently. I only wish they would have elaborated more on that, but maybe they will in flashbacks. Would have been better if they had kept James alive, in my opinion.
Yes, it would’ve been so much better if he was still alive. At least we got this much. We didn’t see him at all in the dragon/midas episode (The shepherd?) did we?

Time might not flow the same in FTL as it does here…100 years there might be two weeks here.
That is a good point. There is a Jack in the Beanstalk movie that is like that, even! Although it’s the opposite way, time passes more quickly in the real world than in giant land. But Emma went up to Giant Land with her 10 hour limit and time definitely didn’t pass differently in FTL and seemingly not in SB either. So I think this is out.
