I expected to see him in this episode too. It creeped me out the way Kathryn looked at Dr. Whale. GAG ME. I think she was just supposed to look grateful for him nursing her back to health but there was really this vibe of attraction that gives me the heebie jeebies.

Ugh, especially after Rumple killed his maid in the flashback. 🙁 Just brought his dark side sooo to light again… But August sure said the right thing to get Rumple not to kill him. You know, thinking about this and that phone call and his acting in the store—I wonder if what he said/the way he said things was calculated specifically to get Rumple to let him go if he got caught? It WOULD be good to have a contingency plan. I can picture him thinking, “Okay, what am I going to say if he catches me?”

There are some really good points in this thread. I didn’t realize the horse-looking figurine was a donkey but that makes sense if it is supposed to hint at Pinnochio/Lampwick. And Dr. Whale was back–there’s nothing weird about it because he was needed for Kathryn but it is significant if he is Monstro which is always what I’ve assumed. (Though they almost got me in Red-Handed because I couldn’t figure out why he was in that episode unless he was the wolf… but he was just a red-herring to keep us from realizing it was really Ruby) And man, they seriously had me going with the Bae-stuff. Especially the flashbacks. 🙁
These writers pull way too many tricks on us!!! argh! The only thing that makes it okay is how when they reveal everything you go, “Ohhh I see now!” If we ever don’t have that reaction to a new reveal–then it will be a problem.
Anyway, I’m against the Pinocchio theory. Some people are pointing out Wizard of Oz references that are interesting. Like all the emerald-colored things in this episode. *shrug*
Yeah this makes sense. He left her in their care and he never came back so she was still with them when the curse happened. I was wondering why she wasnt parentless like Hansel and Gretel but this explains it!
Least favorite: The way Emma was so oblivious to danger and 1) picked up a hitchhiker 2) went home with him! 3) drank a drink she didn’t see prepared! etc. The second I saw him I knew he was bad news. And even if she didn’t–by the way where is the lie detecting again?–you just don’t do those things, Emma… You are a woman, a beautiful woman, and you have to be cautious of date-rape and other attacks even if you’re a cop because he sure showed you how vulnerable you really are, didn’t he? GAH! It’s just… I’ve known these things since I was 12…
Favorite: Probably the scene where he talks about really being from FTL to her and we learn about how he’s been there for 28 years… It’s interesting stuff. I also loved when he apparently went through the hat to Wonderland. And when Regina walked into the jail and MM was there and she looked so shocked. Or when she was pretending to be that ugly hag. Hahaha. That was great–because it harkened back to the real Snow White story!
But really, I loved Jefferson the most. And when he put on the hat at the end and bared his neck showing the scar, standing over Emma–he looked so freaking crazy and I loved it!
Ohhhhhhhh. I think you’re right. That makes sense. They showed us the woman’s face when Grace hugged her at the well and I told myself to make a note of that so I could try to recognize her later. But then I forgot all about her!
Aw, it’s too bad they didn’t talk in this ep! I want people who know the truth (minus Regina) to start grouping up… *pout*
I heard something somewhere about an episode with young snow. I think the actress may even be credited in IMDB already but I'm not going to look. I wish I didn't know about this spoiler that's why I'm not certain about it, been trying to forget! 😛 And her face doesn't look like Grace's to me but I really can't tell what's going on in that picture at all @_@.
