ParticipantCharming: “I’m gonna need a smaller egg”

ParticipantAnother one from OUAT conversations that made me laugh:
Henry: Hey, Archie, do you have a second?
Archie: I’m kinda’ in the middle of—
Henry: Why a cricket? When the Blue Fairy asked you, I mean. Why’d you wish to be a cricket?
Archie: I like crickets.
Henry: I like hamsters but I don’t wanna BE one. You could have been a wolf or a dragon!
Archie: Henry, please—
Henry: Gepetto would have listened to Jiminy Dragon is all I’m saying
Archie: You need to goromantic_sheep
ParticipantHmm, yeah that raises the question of whether “true love’s kiss” has to be mutual. Like, maybe she was his true love but not vice versa?

ParticipantWhile it’s not fanfic in the traditional sense, this seems like a good thread for me to rave about Once Upon A Time Abridged. It’s a satirical take on the show by daesgatling that “examines plot holes, plot and character exaggerations, character attributes I made up off the top of my head, fandom as a whole, screencaps I just happened to get from the program I use for this series, and theories and speculations amongst other things”, and it’s completely hilarious.
Here’s a link to the list of episodes done so far, I definitely recommend checking it out!

ParticipantOkay, so there’s the day when Regina reveals to Kathryn that David is having an affair (Regina is wearing a a black turtleneck and grey blazer). Then the next day, Kathryn visits Regina again: “I thought after what happened yesterday I’d be the last person you’d want to see.” and tells her that she’s leaving (Regina is wearing a grey top, blazer and scarf). She’s then wearing this same outfit that evening as she burns the letter and we discover Kathryn is missing.
In the scene in Stable Boy, she’s wearing a grey top and red blazer.
So I’m down to before she knew Kathryn was leaving, costuming screw-up or Regina likes to randomly change her outfits back and forth throughout the day. (Yes, I have probably given this too much thought)romantic_sheep
ParticipantDownload on Monday nights (which is of course not as delayed as it sounds), then often rewatch within the next few days. Then I rewatch when it airs here on Thursday nights a couple of months later (we just had 1×13). And of course I’m going to be buying the DVDs.
The whole “rewatching a couple months later” thing definitely brings up some interesting parallels and new ways of viewing things. For example, watching August in 1×13 immediately after this week’s episode.

ParticipantI just introduced a friend to the podcast. She’s never listened to any podcast before this, but she’s heard the first few episodes and is loving it. Now to just get her into the forums…
Definitely a case of the bigger the community, the better, so I’m all for us all spreading the word 🙂

ParticipantHenry and Emma logistics aside, I don’t think they’d reset everything like that, because that would essentially erase the entirety of the show (the Storybrooke half anyway) to date, and it would be deeply unsatisfying to just lose all of that story and character development. If there were to be a return to Storybrooke, I think it would have to be in light of everything that has happened in the interim. It always puzzles me when people say that characters killed in our world might still be alive in FTL world, because as far as I’m concerned, that’s all in the past and has no bearing on what happens next.
I’m of the belief that FTL is no more, even more so after what the Blue Fairy said last week, “So you’d be willing to sacrifice this world for the next? Because that’s how great the price is.” The fact that not only the people, but also structures and items from FTL have ended up in Storybrooke has always made me think that FTL was destroyed by the curse, so I don’t think that breaking the curse will “transport” everyone back there.
Although “our world” was supposed to be the place where everyone was robbed of their happy endings, more and more we’ve seen that apart from Snow and Charming, very few characters were actually living happily in FTL. It was a place of forced marriages, murder and curses. Post-curse, I’d personally be more interested in seeing the characters realise that this is where they live now and trying to find a way to live happily in our world – after all, that’s where we all live, so in many ways it would be more interesting and relatable than a return to a magical land.

Now this is something that I hadn’t really considered, but I could go for this before I would a return to FTL.

ParticipantAlthough looking at it closely, he’s drawn a lot of lines considering she only made six incorrect guesses.
And come on Mary Margaret, everyone knows you guess E early on.

ParticipantWhat I can’t believe is that Henry is beating Regina! Henry! (Not that there’s anything wrong with liking Henry – at least it’s not David). Well I’m going to go and sit in the Team Regina corner by myself.
