ParticipantI think Sidney is definitely the most expendable. Part of me feels like it will be kinda “been there, done that”-ish if they kill August, particularly if another character were to kill him, but even if he did die in other circumstances, just because his character did feel like a replacement for Graham in some ways. It could end up turning into “I wonder which handsome dark-haired man with a stubbly beard with a penchant for high-collared black jackets they’ll kill next?”

ParticipantOh, and of course:
Rumpelstiltskin: “I’m the town coward” (Desperate Souls)
Belle: “You’re a coward, Rumpelstiltskin” (Skin Deep)
Baelfire: “You’re a coward!” (The Return)
Jeez, that just gets more and more tragic each time we hear it.romantic_sheep
ParticipantThe bit that got me was when he made the deal with Bae (and you knew that he wasn’t going to manage to keep it). It certainly throws even more new (and tragic) light on why he is compelled to make them – it’s as if he’s trying to make up for breaking that one deal by making them with everyone else, but of course that doesn’t fix anything because he’s lost the one person he needs to connect with.

ParticipantA couple from the latest episode:
Regina: “You broke our deal”
Gold: “I broke one in my life dear, and it certainly wasn’t this one”Baelfire: “Don’t break our deal”
(And yet, I saw someone ask on tumblr which deal Gold was referring to. Can’t help but wonder if they actually watched the entire episode)
Edit: A better example of talking about deals:
Rumpelstiltskin: You know, she’s right. The deal is struck (Skin Deep)Baelfire: “The deal is struck” (The Return)
Regina to Gold:
“You’re a bastard” (Desperate Souls)
“You bastard!” (The Return)And for the “finding” file, Rumpelstiltskin: “I will find him! I will find him! I will find him!”
Characters on this show really need to make more of an effort to stop losing people.romantic_sheep
ParticipantI going to have to add Maine to my list. I was watching Homeland the other day, and every time one of the characters mentioned Maine, I automatically said “Storybrooke” in my head.

ParticipantThis episode definitely raised a lot of questions about her role in all of this, and put her on par with Rumple and Regina in terms of the influence she’s had on events.
I also think that she knows about FTL. She just gives of the same vibe that Regina and Gold did before we knew if they knew in my opinion.
I kinda like the idea that she’s not as good as she seems. A couple of lines in this episode just made me think a little – how Bae’s second question “bigger than Papa? Worse than Papa?” wasn’t answered, and her “there is good magic and dark magic, and I’m on the right side.” This could easily be me reading too much into word choice, but I just found her use of “right” instead of “good” kind of interesting.

Participantin light of last night’s episode, I’d like to be keeper of August’s enigma wrapping stubble 😉

ParticipantIt’s definitely not just you Lissy. I’m not sure if I entirely buy it, but I had the exact same thought.
I think it’s because he’s the first person we’ve come across who it would make sense for Emma to have run into outside of Storybrooke but related to the Fairytale world.
My problem is that Emma talks about him as if he’s not a good guy, and while he is Rumpelstiltskin’s son, that doesn’t seem to match up with what we’ve seen of Bae so far. Then again, maybe losing his father and ending up somewhere magic-less (we assume our world) changed him, or maybe Emma’s perspective is not an objective one.
It certainly would be meaningful and kinda neat if Henry is descended from Snow/Charming/Emma on one side, the adoptive son (and step-great nephew or whatever it is) of Regina and descended from Rumple on his father’s side though.romantic_sheep

Are you here for the rent? (Dr. Hopper)
Why does everyone ask that? (Mr. Gold)
I love this one, because I literally had that thought a second before Mr Gold said it.
Another one I loved from this episode was:
“My keys. Can’t help but feel personally violated about that part.”
Because troll Regina is the best Regina.
And of course: “We’re so glad you didn’t kill Mrs Nolan.”romantic_sheep
ParticipantCame to the thread to suggest Alice and Tin Man, saw they were already here. Good call 🙂
Alice was my mini-hiatus watch. Can’t think of anything new to add at the moment, but I shall wrack my brains. -
