I’m kind of thinking that if they all agreed to cast the curse, it was very similar to when Snow and Charming agreed to put Emma in the wardrobe before the first curse.  They chose to believe that Emma would find them and break the curse.  Now it could be basically the reverse.  They are agreeing the send themselves back to SB with potentially no memory of what has been happening, choosing to believe that Hook would be able to find Emma and bring her back and that Emma’s magic will be strong enough to defeat the WW.

You could get some really good Captain Charming bonding moments in there because this situation would really have an “I will always find her” feel to it, coming from Hook.

Plus A and E said there was a very specific reason it HAD to be Hook who went to get Emma.  It would make complete sense that it would HAVE to be Hook who goes to get Emma if everyone else loses their memory when they get back and don’t even know they are SUPPOSED to get Emma.

The more I think about it the more I think it was Hook who cast the curse.  And if that is the case, if they have a TLK in the next episode would it not only break his kissing curse but ALSO bring back everyone’s memories as well since he was the one who cast the curse that caused them to lose their memories???

I’m starting to wonder if Hook cast the curse.  Not in a bad way.  We have all been assuming that whoever cast the curse did it for a BAD reason but what if they didn’t?  We have also been assuming Killian was able to get to Emma FROM the EF, but what if he wasn’t?  Let’s say the WW is going around and all heck is breaking loose and everyone figures out what she is trying to do.  And then they figure out that there is only person whose magic is strong enough to defeat the WW and that person is Emma.  Although Snow and Charming didn’t want Emma to have to be the savior anymore and to be able to live a normal life, if they found out their baby was in danger (another baby!) I could see them being willing to get Emma involved to save her brother or sister.  So what if they get a message to Killian explaining what is happening and asking him to return but he never actually sees the WW so he has no idea what she looks like.  They figure out that they can’t bring Emma to the EF and Killian can’t get to Emma directly from the EF so the only way to defeat the WW is to take everyone, including the WW to the EF.  They all decide Killian is obviously the best choice to get Emma but this time to cast the curse he has to sacrifice the THING he loves most that he POSSESES – the Jolly Roger.  Just like the curse before, everyone except the person who cast the curse loses their memories so Killian then leaves SB immediately to get Emma, not telling anyone that he cast the curse because now everyone, like us, also sees the curse as negative because they can’t remember and Killian has no idea what the WW looks like.  Maybe that is why he actually doesn’t want to tell Emma about the missing year.  Even though it isn’t bad that he cast the curse because it’s what they all agreed on to defeat the WW, he hadn’t planned on having the burden of being the only one who remembered and feels guilty for being the only one who remembers that they purposely brought her back.  But he has still allowed HER to figure out on her own that she needs to use her magic to defeat the WW – he has never TOLD her because he knows how she feels about being the savior.  He only told her she should embrace that part of herself once she started to head down that path.  The synopsis for the next episode said an unlikely person cast the curse, we still don’t know exactly what happened to the JR although we all assume he sacrificed it for Emma, and I find it hard to believe that the thing with Ariel and potentially trading his ship for memory potion is the ONLY reason he wouldn’t tell Emma about his missing year.  I’m typically always wrong with my theories but yesterday when I read the synopsis, this just came to me.

Okay, I have to say I kind of love the idea of CS kissing in order to save Henry only to have BOTH of them be shocked as all get out that it is TLK and end’s up breaking Hook’s kissing curse instead of stealing Emma’s magic.  The reason I love this idea is that it is basically Emma and Killian making a difficult decision together in order to save THEIR son since Killian is going to be one of the dad’s in Henry’s life now.  So essentially it will be Henry’s parents’ TLK that will save him.  Both Emma and Killian are super protective of Henry.  And it would KILL Killian to know that his guilt led to Emma losing her magic OR to Henry dying BUT, oh my goodness, what would it do to him to know that his love for Emma is actually the thing that SAVES Henry?!  And what will it do to Emma to know that her love for Killian makes her stronger/more powerful and better able to protect her child?!

I loved the CS scene at Granny’s but here is my question . . .

Granny’s was clearly still closed – the chairs were all still on top on the tables and no one else was there.  Why were Emma and Killian in the diner together alone when it was closed?  If Killian is so concerned about kissing her is that the BEST idea?  No wonder he was in a crappy mood.  All alone with Emma in an empty closed diner, she’s in a flirty, giggly, good mood looking all pretty in feminine clothes and he can’t kiss her!!

Can I say how happy I am that he addressed that Hook did NOT steal Milah from Rumple but that she CHOSE to go with him!!!  That argument drives me absolutely crazy.

I mean obviously it’s not right to be going around getting it on with married women but SHE was the one who was married and should not have made herself available to him in the first place.  The fact that the way she chose to leave Rumple was to run off with another man is simple the way she decided to end her marriage commitment.  But SHE was the one who made that choice, Hook did not STEAL her!

I go back and forth on the hook issue but ultimately I think I want him to get his hand back.

But I don’t want Emma to do it – I want Rumple to do it.

I think it’s really important for Hook to know Emma loves and accepts him for who he is, both Captain Hook and Killian Jones, and his hook is symbolic of his Captain Hook side.  So to me, even though I do get the symbolism of Emma helping Killian become “whole again” by attaching his hand, I think it’s more important that she accepts him with the hook and just doesn’t even care about it.

Having Rumple give him back his hand however would be symbolic of Rumple and Hook making amends over Milah.  At the end of the day, Belle is Rumple’s True Love and Emma is Hook’s True Love so while they both loved and mourned losing Milah (I know crazy cause then Rumple kills her) really there wasn’t a good reason for their hatred of each other.  They had to work together to save Henry, I think they worked together in the missing year somehow, they are going to work together again, and Hook is going to be his grandson’s stepfather.  So to me it would be very symbolic of not only Rumple’s forgiveness of Hook but his acceptance and appreciation of Hook to give him back his hand.

The reason’s I struggle with having him get his hand back are that even though I completely understand where they are going with his character – basically having him no longer be a pirate and getting rid of being Captain Hook – he still WAS Captain Hook.  So leaving the hook is kind of . . . cool?

Then there’s the whole thing that JMo referenced.  There is something weirdly sexy about that hook.  Even though he is completely appealing as either Hook or Killian, his darker, sexier, more adventurous, dangerous side is Captain Hook – you know the whole bad boy thing?  It would be kind of nice to keep SOME aspect of Captain Hook around if for no other reason than that and I think the hook is the easiest way to visually do that.  He will always have his brood and swagger, but there IS something about that hook . . .

I’ve always had this thought that Killy should surprise Emma by kind of taking “lessons” from Charming on modern day things like learning how to drive so he can get his driver’s license, learning about fine wines and dining from Rumple, etc.

Then since he and Emma are the only ones who can leave SB I think he should surprise Emma by taking her on a date outside of SB – dressed in a nice modern suit to a fancy restaurant.  He can surprise her by driving (I guess he would have to borrow a car) and then he could surprise her with his new knowledge of wine, etc.

I think Emma deserves to get out of SB and go somewhere nice.  It would be cool to see him want to impress her by learning about modern stuff so he could take her out to give her the “day off” she is always wanting.

I honestly don’t think it has anything to do with Killian trying to be Henry’s father and I don’t think Henry will see it that way either.

I’m a stepmom and my stepson was 13 when I married my husband – so somewhat close to Henry’s age.  He has always come to ME for girl advice, advice on how to dress, etc. but it has nothing to do with trying to be his mom – it’s actually the opposite.  In the case when a step-parent arrives during the pre-teen or teenage years the relationship you have with your stepchild is VERY different than it is if they were a toddler or young child.  I have always been more of a close friend who is also a family member to my stepson as opposed to a parent even though I consider him to be my son – if that makes sense?  He has a mom so he doesn’t need another one but he is often more comfortable coming to me about personal issues BECAUSE I’m a parental figure but not his actual parent.

I have LOTS of friends who are parents of blended families and I have never come across ANYONE who has had a child use the “you’re not my mom or dad” thing.  It is typically the ex-husband or ex-wife that has the problem with the new spouse thinking they are TRYING to replace them as the parent when, honestly, they are just being another adult in their life.

I do have a few friends whose spouses have passed away and who have remarried.  They have actually had the easiest time blending their families because there isn’t a jealous ex who could potentially cause a problem and the biological parent can be honored by everyone.  Plus the kids don’t have to worry about hurting their biological parent if they seem to like their stepparent too much.  It’s okay to accept the new spouse as their parent if they want to.  But again – it typically depends on the age of the child.

I don’t really see Henry having a problem with Killian though.  I don’t recall him ever saying that he wanted Emma and Neal to get back together (but I could be wrong) and he only knew Neal for about 6 seconds so it’s not like he had formed a life long parental bond with him.  It looks like this kid is probably going to end up with 2 “father figures” in his life – both Killian and Robin.  Not to mention one of his grandfathers is actually the same age as both the other men.  He’s got potential father figures all over the place!

Oh, yeah!  I totally forgot that Henry also has Robin Hood to go to for girl advice as well.

Unfortunately for Henry any girl he EVER brings home is going to be thinking NOTHING but “All the men in your family are HOT!!”

Like seriously, can you even imagine?  “Alice I would like you to meet my step fathers Killian and Robin, and my grandfathers Charming and Rumple.”

Killian for a gazillion different reasons.  Not that I don’t think Charming would give good advice but going to Grandpa for girl advice just seems strange and I think Charming would end up having difficulty figuring out more modern dating practices.

As for Killy, he’s becoming Henry’s father figure but he’s not his actual father so that is a comfortable person to go to.  Trust me, I’m a stepmom – I always get the girl questions.  Plus he isn’t too squeaky clean – he comes from a time when men where gentleman and courted a lady but he was still a pirate so he knows what’s what and Henry can be honest with him without getting preached at.  Plus Killian has an incredible depth of unwavering faithfulness when it comes to the women he loves so I think he would give really GOOD advice, he’s not going to tell him to screw around (not that Charming would either).  He’s been hurt a lot so he can relate when a girl breaks Henry’s heart and help him through that.

Plus he can teach Henry to smoulder.
