They should have had them go on a date to a Mexican restaurant so Emma could have ordered tacos! Although I read somewhere that they are somehow doing the Lady and Tramp spaghetti and meatballs scene with Emma and Killy at the Italian restaurant. That should be beyond adorable, even if he just offers her his last meatball! But seriously did anyone NOT replace “hold her” with either “make tacos” or “have sex” during Killy’s little explanation to Rumple?
[adrotate group="5"]killianhookfanParticipantRe: hate-watching…I have no problem with people doing that. I don’t get it, but it’s really no skin off my nose. What I can’t stand is when they try to force everyone else to hate it too or do things like attack actors and writers via Twitter or whatever. There’s just no excuse for that. I can actually kind of relate because I’m on a bit of an anti-Regina kick at the moment, so I have a fair amount of negative things to say about her on my Tumblr etc., but I tag it so no one has to see it if they don’t want to. But yeah, Regina’s been a dark spot on what’s otherwise been a pretty great season so far, so I get wanting to vent about individual things that bug you. I just don’t let it ruin the rest of the show for me!
I totally get being annoyed at a character or not liking a specific arc. Aside from CS, the whole Neverland thing wasn’t exactly my favorite part of the show – there were parts I liked and parts that almost put to me sleep. I don’t even really care if people don’t like CS – ship whoever you want. What I am not happy about is the fact that it seems like people who enjoy the show have the become the minority on the boards, to the point that every thread except this one ultimately becomes a place to talk about how terrible the show is now, how awful the writing is, how none of the characters make sense anymore, how all of the actors are OBVIOUSLY unhappy with their job on the show (you can just TELL), how MRJ continues to be treated like crap, how A and E are in conspiracy with Disney and ABC to ensure young girls think rape is acceptable, etc. It’s like this has become the Anti-OUaT website. If people hate the show that much they SHOULD start an anti-OUaT website and then they can gripe about the show all they want there. But this should be a place where people who enjoy the show can come to discuss it. I have been here almost since the beginning of season 1 and I remember how much fun this site used to be. There were plenty of people who didn’t like certain characters or didn’t care for certain storylines but they weren’t NEGATIVE about the SHOW. People joked around together during the show and during the podcast – now people commiserate and complain together. The boards were full of theories and in depth discussions, now there are hardly ANY threads outside of the SF and CS thread, and those threads that do exist move at a snail’s pace or die quickly. There was lots of commentary on how well actors portrayed their characters and certain scenes, now people personalize the actors with the characters so much that the discussion is about which actor has gotten what hate mail from the fans today because of what their character did on the last episode. It’s just become a very different place from what it used to be.
I’m glad that we still have lots of great discussions here though!!
killianhookfanParticipantYay!!! Sneak peek!!
But the spoiler actually makes me even more convinced about something I suspected – that Hook’s hand is NOT cursed. I am wondering if Rumple is just playing mind games with Hook and because Hook is worried about being “whole” for Emma when he loses his temper with Will about spilling the drink, the mind games start to work and Hook starts to wonder if the hand if cursed. Because if the hand ISN’T cursed he might start to worry that he hasn’t made as much progress as he THOUGHT he had. It just seems like there has been a lot of Hook toying with Rumple about how he really hasn’t changed. Kind of like “be careful what you say Hook because you ARE a fairy tale villain even if you are a recovered fairy tale villain.” Like alcoholics, fairy tale villains can always fall off the wagon – or live in great fear that they will (like Regina). That would then be a consistent thread amongst the villains on the show. You have Rumple who has NOT gotten better but SHOULD have, Regina who HAS gotten better but doesn’t REALIZE she has, and Hook who HAS gotten better but would be afraid of turning back into who he used to be. If the theme of this season is never giving up on the ones you love – each of these villains has people who would love and support them through their villain identity crisis. The big issue with Hook, as we have discussed before, is obviously that he doesn’t want his hand for himself – he wants it for Emma, he thinks he needs it because she deserves someone whole . . . this is where his identity crisis begins. Emma doesn’t care about his hand. From this spoiler I think she’s going to end up having to show him not only that she loves him with a hook instead of a hand but that she loves him even though he IS actually a fairy tale villain, and that she will love and support him even if he “falls off the wagon” because he WANTS to be a better man. I am so excited!! We are FINALLY gonna get the tables turned and have Emma fighting for Hook!! Yay
killianhookfanParticipant@rumplegoldfan, did you perchance happen to venture outside our thread???? Into another thread on this site, hmmm???? Because I believe you’ve just “flipped a table” (or two) Good for you for standing up for your son! I think there are a lot of holier than thou and whitewashing attitudes prevalent around here who can’t see beyond their narrow little world. And a lot of IRRATIONAL HATE toward a fictitious character, which cannot be healthy. This is not how the real world works folks.
Yep. It typically doesn’t get to me. I just read it and shrug with a perplexed look on me face but today it annoyed me.
Things I don’t understand . . .
“It really hurts when I poke myself in the eye with this pen!”
“Then why on earth would you continue to poke yourself in the eye with that pen?”
“BECAUSE I WANT TO.” Written proudly and accompanied with a fierce gif. Like they have just established their wildly proud, independent, and survivalist spirit.
I just look and them and am like “BUT. YOU. ARE. POKING. YOURSELF. IN. THE. EYE. WITH. A. PEN.”
A snappy retort and Beyoncé gif will never convince me that kind of behavior is healthy.
Keep on watching a show you hate folks. It isn’t MY time your wasting.
Don’t mind me, I’ll be over here watching the shows I actually ENJOY!!
killianhookfanParticipantJust sticking my head in this morning to say (totally off topic) as the mother of a boy, I vehemently DESPISE a very large number of the female “fandom” and/or haters of this show and their “power to the female of the species at all costs” mentality.
I truly hope one day some of these women give birth to a male child and as he comes of age are forced to go back and read some of the hateful and ridiculous things they have written. Seriously.
Crazy stalker Killian? Yes son, if a woman ever invites you to dinner with her family and you decline but later change your mind, make sure you don’t linger outside the restaurant if you are unsure about whether you should join them. Because if you show up outside of the restaurant you were invited to and look inside the restaurant and see the woman who invited you to said restaurant you will be considered to be a sick, dangerous stalker who is obviously part of the reason women are KILLED by the crazy men who obsessively stalk them unwantedly. The fact that the woman INVITED you is in NO WAY important.
And make sure you NEVER make ANY kind of poor decision at ANY point in your entire life. Because, as a man, you will be judged by EVERY action and every decision you have EVER made – regardless of the situation and regardless of whether you regret said decision, learned from it, and regardless of how far in your past this action or behavior took place. And any woman you date at ANY point in your life must know each and every negative thing about you – regardless of how long ago the negative thing took place. If she doesn’t know each and every negative thing about you than she can’t make an informed decision about whether she should be with you. It doesn’t matter if the negative thing happened years before you met, has nothing to do with her, is no longer occurring, and is something you deeply regret and have moved on from.
Make sure you have NO sense of humor and don’t ever try to flirt because that is harassment, plain and simple – and you are disgusting for even thinking that a woman would want to banter back and forth with you. If a woman speaks to you – RUN THE OTHER WAY. It’s likely at some point she has acted uninterested in jumping your bones. Unless she has issued an express, written invitation saying that she wants to engage in a formal dating relationship you should assume that even if a woman speaks to you, she is NOT interested in you romantically. A woman is NOT required to tell you “I am NOT interested in dating you please stop pursuing me.” It is up to YOU, as a man, to be able to read her mind and figure out what she REALLY wants. Therefore, even when SHE flirts with YOU, asks YOU to accompany her somewhere, is concerned about you etc, always remember that your presence in her life is HARASSMENT unless she tells you it ISN’T.
My apologies but as the mother of a guy, what the crick do the these holier than thou woman WANT?????? How the heck do you raise a boy today??? What do you tell them???? What happens when your son likes a SHY girl?? Hmmm?? What then??? How exactly is he supposed to get to know her?? Because according to these screaming banshees anytime he attempts to speak to her he would be harassing her because she doesn’t APPEAR to be interested.
I so hope some of these woman end up falling for a guy they at first couldn’t stand. And when they start to warm up to the guy he flat out tells her “I’m sorry I can’t have anything to do with you. I’m aware you didn’t like me very much when you didn’t know me very well but I’m afraid that if we were to become friends now I could be accused of harassment so I am going to have to ask you to stay away from me.”
Don’t even get me started on the RUDE, out of control, FAST girls that are super common today. How do you teach a son how to deal with THOSE??? They have no respect for themselves, how are the guys supposed to show them they have respect for them when they are hurling themselves all over them????
I swear I want to SPIT NAILS as the mother of a son when I read the man hating, ridiculous comments I see so often. I seriously wonder if some people’s ONLY interactions with men have been through being abused by one or being left by one (a father). Because so many people seem to have virtually NO knowledge at ALL of decent men and seem to immediately assume the WORST of anything when it comes to a male character. Where the heck did all this male hate come from??????
killianhookfanParticipantHow can one dress cause so much discussion!!
Personally, I don’t think Emma is wearing that dress FOR Hook. I mean aside from showing off her cleavage, it isn’t a dress that screams Captain Hook’s girlfriend to me – even in the Enchanted Forest he seemed to prefer her in a different kind of look. BUT, with that said – I think Hook loves Emma in anything and everything. I think Emma just wants to look pretty. Not necessarily FOR Hook but for HERSELF. She wants a chance to be girlie, she never had that. That dress screams girlie – it’s the Storybrooke equivalent of a princess dress. And that is what Emma gets to be for a night – the princess she is. She gets to forget about chasing monsters and remember that she IS a fairy tale princess. No, she doesn’t HAVE to wear a princess dress to be a fairy tale princess but when your life has been about as far away from a fairy tale as possible and you ARE, in fact, a princess why NOT dress the part every now and then?
I mean I love Emma in whatever she wears but it’s nice to see her in something different. I don’t think she HAS to wear a girlie dress to be a princess (I actually prefer Snow’s pearl white pants outfit with the long overcoat thingy that she wears in the EF over anything she has ever worn and it isn’t a traditional princess outfit). But even if she WANTED to wear something FOR Hook, who cares? I’ve been married for 10 years and there have been many times that I have been shopping for an outfit for some function and when I’ve decided what to buy one of the factors HAS been what my husband likes. And sometimes I have decided to go with MY second choice is because I know my husband will like it better and I want him to like what I look like.
There have also been times I’ve tried on a dress and been like “This is so totally NOT something I would normally wear but for some reason I LOVE it” so I get it and it’s fun to be different for a night. Prime example, after Emma wore the black leather dress I saw a faux leather dress and tried it on when I needed a dress for a ballet fund raiser. Surprisingly, I loved it. It was totally not me and shocked me that it actually looked formal enough. I have gotten more compliments on that dress than any other I own. It doesn’t make some shocking statement about me, it doesn’t mean that I am trying to be someone I am not, it doesn’t mean I am out of character when I wear. I means I like the darn dress!!
killianhookfanParticipantIs anyone else having problems with posting lately? I have recently been having weird issues where I suddenly get “pushed” to the top of the page or back to another page and get a message that says something like I’ve been logged out because I’ve been idle for 15 minutes. It is royally ticking me off because every time it’s happened I have been in the middle of a LONG profound post that has taken more than 15 minutes to write but for some reason the site isn’t recognizing that I am typing. I am constantly having to log back in and I can’t even see or read all the posts without logging in for some reason.
I’ve been reading all day and trying to respond to all the posts but I can’t!!!!!
killianhookfanParticipantHere’s my two cents on the date outfit.
They definitely went for a young and innocent look compared to the previous outfits we have seen Emma in on her “dates” and her usual outfits for several reasons. First, Emma obviously never had the chance to have a traditional first date or prom where the guy came to the door to pick her up properly while her parents were there hovering in the background to embarrass her and take pictures. Because she has talked about all the loser guys she has dated I’m guessing she has never actually been on the kind of date that you go on in high school where you get all nervous and excited and the guy comes to the door to pick you up AT ALL. So basically, like finding a home, this is something that Emma probably dreamed about when she was young but never got got. Now that she is older she realizes she gets to have it AND her parents also thought they were never going to get that (remember Snow saying that Emma is great but she is all grown up?) but now they DO. The easiest way to convey all of that is to make Emma look younger by dressing her differently than we have seen her before. And we need to see that she is excited about this so we need to see that she has put a lot of thought into what she is wearing – changing her earrings, ditching the normal necklaces and shoelace that are her reminders of Neal of Graham, wearing her hai r up (but the ponytail adds to the youthful look), a girlie looking pink dress (almost promish), painted her nails.
But we can’t leave Killian out of this. It’s important that THIS is the episode that he ditches his pirate clothes and wants his hand back. Why? Think about his past. Who was he and how old was he before he became a pirate? We don’t know for sure but from the way he worshipped his brother he was relatively young. We know he was a very upstanding, straight laced guy – the kind who would have treated a girl very well if he was courting one. But between being abandoned as a child and being raised by his Navy brother and then being in the Navy himself I’m guessing HE didn’t have much of a chance to court much himself. Then his brother died and he became a pirate. As a pirate, he basically either had women throwing themselves at him or he was paying for them – there wasn’t any courting going on. Then he met Milah. He loved her but she didn’t exactly play hard to get, she threw herself at him. Although we don’t know for sure, I feel like their relationship was set before she joined his ship and they just kind of fell into place. She very much fell in love with the pirate version of Killian Jones – she told Rumple that she fell in love with him because he told her about all of his adventures. He never had to TRY to impress Milah.
Now he has Emma who has had to “court” in a round about way for quite awhile, and it has taken him a while to figure out why she won’t open up to him. When he finally learns WHY she has been pushing him away it melts his heart even more than he thought possible because it has nothing to do with HIM. Emma has never really cared whether Killian was Captain Hook, a pirate, or just Killian Jones – she has loved all versions of him, and she’s been terrified of losing all versions of him. For the first time EVER, I believe – just like Emma, Killian has the opportunity to do something he always dreamt of doing when he was young but never had the chance – to properly court a woman he loves. I think this is why he chooses this moment to ditch his pirate clothes. Just like Emma, he puts a lot of thought into what he is going to wear. In his case, I also think he wants her to see that SHE is more important to him than being a pirate (which Emma honestly doesn’t care about and will, I think lead to an identity crisis that will lead into the second part of the season). Of course, everyone loves Colin’s look so they can’t deviate too much from his usual look – but just getting him out of his usual pirate attire says a lot. The biggest deal is getting his hand back. We all know that Emma doesn’t care about him missing a hand and I think most of us were initially very torn about him getting his hand back (I think A and E have figured out a way to do it so it will kill all of us based upon spoilers). Not only do I think he wants his hand back so he can be “whole” for Emma (which is ridiculous) and so he can embrace her with both hands – I think it also symbolizes for him a time before he was overtaken with a quest for revenge – a time when he was more “innocent.” And really, how much more sweet and innocent can he look the first time Emma sees him with his hand than reaching out with that hand presenting her with a rose – which someone pointed out that a single red Rose means “I love you.” So basically whatever God awful deal he makes with Gold to get his hand back he’s going to do because he loves Emma and believes he wants/needs his hands to be who he wants to be for her.
At the end of the day while the visions of youth and innocence LOOK adorable, you can’t turn back time (ha! Well I guess CS can!!) or change the past. And the crappy things that happened to both of their lives are what ultimately lead them to each other and are why they find such strength in one another. I think that they might have some rough roads ahead trying to be people that they really aren’t for one another (especially Killian) for awhile. I honestly don’t think Emma even notices the hook and really hasn’t from the beginning – it’s just HIM.
This may be sick but I have this head cannon where Emma and Killian are in some kind of danger and Killy no longer has his hook and they really need it so Emma has to make a horrible decision and chooses to magically remove his hand and replace it with his hook to save them thinking he will hate her for it. But then he is worried that she will no longer find him attractive because he has his hook back and then he finally recognizes she doesn’t give a rats potootie about his hook, that she loves him regardless.
killianhookfanParticipantI’ll say it again . . . MY SHOW IS BACK!!! I’m so happy!! I love this season. I loved this episode. I’m dying to find out what the deal is with DAIRY QUEEN!!
It’s so great to not just be sitting around each week hoping there will be at least a lingering glance between Hook and Emma. Now that they are cannon and they have consistent moments together I actually enjoy the rest of the show again. I feel like all of these storylines mesh together so well this season even though they each stand alone on their own as well.
And next week’s episode – Holy cow!! I am SO excited – so much in ONE episode, I might have to be sedated!!!
killianhookfanParticipantAwwww… Emma Swan is NOT alone anymore <3
Awwww… Emma Swan is NOT alone anymore <3
So I knew there were visual parallels around the scenes with Snowing and family with baby Neal in the hospital and Emma in the apartment but I just recognized a bunch more to them.
With the baby scene – David had just rescued his son, Baby Neal, from Zelena and had placed the baby into Snow’s relieved arms after fearing that she had lost yet another child to an evil villain who enacted an curse in order that was related to the fact that she had a sister. In the scene with Emma, David had just rescued his daughter, grown up Emma, from Elsa and literally placed her into Killian’s relieved arms after fearing that he had lost yet another woman he loved to an evil villain because she couldn’t control her magic without her anchor (Anna, like Gold could never control his magic until he found Belle). Of course they discover that Elsa isn’t really evil, she is just misunderstood and didn’t mean to hurt Emma but that doesn’t change Killian’s worry.
Moving on to the hospital scene. You have Snow in the bed covered in blankets just like Emma is in the chair covered with blankets. The scene is reversed though. David gives Snow the baby and it is Snowing who are alone in the background snuggling together, David kisses her head, while CS talk in the hallway. But in this scene Killian thanks Emma for saving him and he says she wasn’t sure she would given their history. She tells him she would never let him drown but it doesn’t matter if she doesn’t have her magic back because she is going back to NYC. Emma had still given up on ever finding a home and hadn’t let Killian through her walls yet. Emma and Henry then go in to Snow’s room, we see Snow surrounded by her family and then we see a heart-broken Killian who desparately wants not only to get through Emma’s walls but to be a part of that family – but he isn’t even in the room, he is watching from outside the door. He doesn’t even feel close enough to these people to enter the room.
In the scene in the apartment CS don’t NEED to talk. Emma is surrounded by her family but the main point of contact is made clear to the audience to be CS. Killian gets the space heater, Emma is surrounded by her family but Killian is clearly the one in charge of getting her warm. He is the one that she does NOT want to leave her side after what she has just been through. In the hospital Killian didn’t feel worthy to even enter Snow’s room, now he actually carried Emma home (like David carried Baby Neal home) – he is now in the role of protector and he takes his job very seriously, no one even questions it. Not even Emma. He literally broke through her walls this time around. He tried to cut through them himself and when that didn’t work he reached for her through the hole in the ice and then pulled her through. Emma has already decided that SB is home. And in this scene in the background while everyone talks it is CS who are cuddling and Killian who kisses the top of her head. And when Charming makes the comment about how this family really doesn’t like to give up on each other – it is not only to recall what Anna told him when he was younger but it is also a direct response to what Killian told him when he said he wasn’t giving up on getting Emma out if the cave alive. So Charming just included Killian as a member of the family – while Emma and Killian were still cuddling and Killian was still looking at it as his responsibility to take care if her, to warm her up. Killian was no longer standing outside the door looking into their world – he is now considered a member of the family.
Another interesting parallel is that Snow walks into the whole scene at the very end with Baby Neal. (I actually have my own theory as why that really happened – did anyone notice only Elsa, David, and Emma heard the beating heart right before Snow walked in? And remember that David and Snow share a heart.). At the end of the other episode Emma walks into the hospital room with Henry. Although contexts are different, visually and figuratively they are exact same.
The best part to me was the whole deal with Charming literally placing Emma in Killian’s arms. It was sweet but kind of strange at the same time. Like, why didn’t they just have Emma rush to Killian to make the point or Killian run INTO the cave to get her. Or even just have Emma fall into Killian’s arms and Charming give Killian the Bro nod that he approves. The only thing I can come up with is that it is meant to parallel the other episode with an obviously deeper meaning of “Here, I’m giving her to you because I trust you with her and I know how much she means to you.” I mean in both circumstances Charming was obviously extremely worried about each of his children but he immediately delivers them to the people who he recognizes are worried MORE – Snow and now Killian. And I believe he understands why he needs to give Emma to Killian because I think he sees the kind of love he has with Snow in Killian and Emma’s relationship. And he knows how he would feel if it was Snow who had been trapped in that cave.
