ParticipantIt would be really nice to have the table make out session be one of those promo pics like Lana and the book that never makes it into the show.
Unfortunately it is too late because no amount of memory potion will ever erase those images from my brain.
On a side note: how do actors’ wives look at that crap????

ParticipantMy faith that Rumple is the most powerful wizard in all the realms is slowly fading. First Peter, and now Zelena. If Rumple was able to summon his dagger from the shadow, he should be able to summon it the moment Zelena puts it down. She certainly can’t hold that thing 24-7. Clearly, at this dinner, Zelena is telling Rumple her plan to change the past and claim what she thinks is rightfully hers. He knows what’s at stake here. If Rumple doesn’t gain the upper hand by the end of this “intimate” dinner date, then my faith in his powers of manipulation, and in the Dark One’s powers is fading fast. I know she’s controlling him, but come on. Everything we know about him tells us he should be stronger and more cunning than she is.
I have two thoughts about this. 1) something happened that affected his power when he sacrificed himself to kill his father. Not only could it be something physical that actually affects his magical abilities but he was finally ready to give up his power for the people he loves. Rumple used to be all about power and control, when he decided the people he loved were more important to him I think his internal need for power died – and that was what kept him pushing for MORE power for hundreds of years. I simply think he just doesn’t have it in him the way he used to. 2). Belle has rubbed off on him. He just watched his son die. For hundreds of years he has been telling people “All magic comes with a price.” He did everything he could to find his son and in the end HE DIED – Rumple’s price for using magic was losing the most important thing to him. The most important person to him now is Belle who is constantly telling him he is good and asking him to make the right decisions. He doesn’t want to lose her too and he realizes just how harmful magic can be – even when you think you are using it for the right reasons. I think he is afraid to use his magic now for fear he will lose Belle and go back to the Dark One he used to be.

ParticipantAh, so does she seduce him and then make him think she is pregnant with HIS baby. I bet that’s it!!!
She pretends it’s his baby but he won’t accept her because she is a peasant so she gives Zelena away. Then she comes years later to destroy his wedding, after she is already royalty, by telling Ava about the baby. But Ava forgives him because it was before her but is upset with him that he never supported his own child simply because Cora was a peasant. Hence the lecture to Snow about how they are no better than servants. But Cora remains bitter because Ava becomes Queen before she will so that’s why she poisons her so Regina can be Queen. Cora must blackmail Leo so he has to marry Regina and that’s why he could never stand her.

ParticipantSo that means that Cora really is royalty at that point and is married to Prince Henry.
Yes, I’m pretty positive that these scenes are AFTER Cora has already married into Henry’s family. Just look at Rose’s posture, and the way she’s dressed, and the hair. All of that screams of a Cora who has been a royal for a little while by now IMO. She didn’t look like that when she was all dressed up at the ball in Miller’s Daughter. She’s carrying herself like Barbara Hershey in these pics. The version of Cora we’ve seen Barbara play. And that version of Cora didn’t exist before she married Henry.
So Cora has baby Zelena as peasant, Miller’s Daughter events where she marries Henry INSTEAD of Eva, and then interrupts Eva and Leo’s happily ever after?
I’m not sure what is going on in the pictures. No one looks mad to me. The only picture where anyone looks remotely mad or upset, Leo looks like he is mad at Cora but BOTH Cora and Ava look upset/concerned about how he is talking to Cora or something.
I’m confused about how Ava went from being a snotty, immature brat who trips peasants to the sweet mother of a Snow White. She doesn’t look like a snotty brat in these pictures so I wonder what happened. And surely she remembers Cora who she couldn’t stand before.
Unless it’s something like Cora comes to try to ruin their wedding by telling them about Zelena (which would require Leo to be the father which it doesn’t sound like he is), only Ava forgives Leo because it was before her and she wants to try to find Zelena. This could lead to Ava’s lecture to Snow about how they are no better than servants – knowing that Snow has a half sister somewhere out there who is the child of a peasant who she had always wanted to find.
In the episode where he dies, doesn’t Leo give some overly disgusting speech at a party in front of Regina about his “only child” Snow White and how much he loves her and how much she looks like her mother and reminds him of her, etc. blah blah. I guess it would make sense if he was thinking that she really WASN’T his only child and his wife reminds him every single day of the child he never met. It could explain why he seemed to dislike Regina so much.

ParticipantWhy are we so convinced Eva’s married in 318?
I think we’re gonna see the Eva/Leo wedding in this ep. That dress looks like a wedding dress to me, and those big towers of white flowers look like wedding decorations.
You’re right. If you look in the background of some of the pictures there are steps like the kind that would lead up to an altar in a church as well as candelabras that would be in a church/for a wedding.

ParticipantWait. I just went back and watched all the scenes from The Miller’s Daughter that have Princess Ava in them. It is pretty clear that she was there to hopefully marry Prince Henry and join their two kingdoms together. If that is the case the scenes with Cora, Leo, and Ava can’t be before the Miller’s daughter because Ava wasn’t married during the Miller’s a Daughter.
So that means that Cora really is royalty at that point and is married to Prince Henry.

ParticipantYou know you’ve been watching a Fairy Tale show too long when you find yourself saying “I’m tired of memory potions, can’t it be something else?”
killianhookfan
ParticipantAre we assuming there was no recognition between Cora and Leo or did they actually show that? What if Leo and Cora did both know where they were and WANTED him to marry Regina in spite of knowing.
The reason I say this is that something seems wrong with the timeline and the pictures.
When Cora was still the Miller’s daughter and had her “run in” with Ava with getting flour on her shoes after Ava tripped her I had the impression that Ava was there as a potential wife for Prince Henry. Cora was dressed like a peasant but then cleaned up for the ball.
Then Ava is nudged out of the way when Cora marries Henry.
In the pictures it appears to me that Ava and Leopold are married which means that Cora would ALREADY be married to Henry, which seems consistent with how Cora is dressed and standing – she doesn’t seem to be pretending to be royalty, she looks like she is older than the Miller’s Daughter episode and she looks like she has actually cleaned up.
I also don’t think Ava looks mad. To me it looks like all three of them are having a conversation and that Leo is actually GIVING Cora the jewel. To me Ava now looks kindly at Cora compared to being the childish snob she was when she tripped her in the Miller’s daughter.
I am wondering if somehow Ava found out about Cora getting pregnant because she wanted to have a royal baby and then giving it away when she found out she had been tricked and the baby would never be royalty. I think Ava can’t get pregnant and convinces Leo to get Cora to have a baby for them. I think Snow is actually Cora and Leo’s baby. Cora made a big deal about how she was so far down the line for the throne that she would probably never be Queen unless she offed everyone so I think she decided her only hope for power was to have her children be born into and then marry into royalty. She and Henry appeared to have a crappy relationship so something happened to make him fear her and make them have a unhappy marriage. I think she gave Snow to Ava and Leo, then offed Ava so that Regina was available to marry Leo. Then she had her daughter Regina as Queen and her daughter Snow as second in line to the throne.
So to stay consistent with the deeply disturbing nature of this week’s photos, I think Cora is being paid for being a surrogate mother with the jewels and then is, ahem, getting “business” started with Leo.

ParticipantYou have to listen to this song!!
I have no idea how to embed songs and my ipad doesn’t let me link but it’s called:
Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave
I used to think of it as Rumple’s song but after this last episode I swear it could be Killian’s theme song! It even talks about how he has a new name and is going home.
Gah!! It’s amazing! I can’t listen to it without thinking of Killian now. I listened to it on repeat all the way home from taking my son to school.
Please listen to it.
And if anyone is talented with videos – make a CS video to it!!
Best part of the song:
“Because I don’t have to be the old man inside of me, ’cause his day is long dead and gone. Because I’ve got a new name, a new life, I’m not the same. And a HOPE that will carry me HOME. I am redeemed, you set me free.”

ParticipantI just wanted to second what KJ has said about the chat. I have gone there quite a bit lately and it’s been fun. I only RARELY see anything purposely negative said about Killian or CS anymore and if it is said, pretty much everyone ignores it (including the SF folks) so it never goes any further than what was originally said. I also think everyone has gotten really good at changing the subject if someone starts down a road that won’t be pleasant. But I really don’t feel like I am walking on eggshells.
I think the good thing about the chat is lately we have been trying to talk about other OUaT topics and that has helped us find common ground. We will often go off OUaT topics as well. Once you get to know people in the chat it’s hard to not view them in a friendly way.
