Thanks for the awesome Kiss link @obisgirl I really enjoyed that! Especially the last paragraph:

A first kiss can be the kiss of death or the kiss that makes us want the person more than we could ever imagine. It tells us if there is a deeper connection or we need to run the hell away. There is so much involved in the kiss we don’t even realize it. All we know is how it makes us feel. Emma and Killian got to have 4 “first kisses” and each one had such a lasting impression that it made them want the other. Their kiss was so right that no matter the circumstances and environment it made them follow and/or find the other. A kiss can tell us everything we need to know about a person and our feelings in a matter of moments. It’s all right there in the the kiss.

Great post KJ! Very true & I wonder what could possibly have happened between 3×14 & 3×16 I wonder :P ;)

Oh my gosh!! So true!! I’ve never thought about this before. They HAVE had so many FIRST kisses. Just goes to show you that they are truly meant to be!!

Lurker here, hi :). The finale was everything I hoped it would be, and I’ve rewatched it more times than I care to admit to. My favorite scenes were with past Hook. I loved Killian creeping around behind them, it reminded me of Moulin Rouge.

I can’t even with Saint Neal, so I won’t. I notice a lot of the people talking about rape culture and Hook being a misogynist, are the same ones who believe he stole Milah. Which he didn’t, she made a choice – which seems to only be okay for a woman to make as long as all the other women in the world agree with her. Apparently we all should just stay in loveless relationships because… history? Emma was walled off, the only way to break through that is by being there for her so that she realizes he isn’t going anywhere. He never forced her and she never said no. The one unwelcomed kiss – she kicked him in the junk. She is hardly a delicate flower. I don’t even know if I made sense, I’m annoyed.

@J You should come out to play more often!! Totally agree with your post!!

@Bo-Peeps You should really watch Frozen. It’s very well done and is not your typical Disney movie. My 12 year old and I went to see it with my mom out of curiosity to see what all the hype was about and we all LOVED it. I fell in love with Elsa as soon as she sang “Let It Go.” My son is a ballet dancer and gets made fun of all the time, and he always feels like people don’t understand him, but he has had to learn to just ignore what people say and be proud of his talent. So I felt like Elsa was singing about my son – my mom and I both cried throughout the entire song and were so glad we were the only 3 people in the theater! My son really relates to Elsa’s character. We went to Disney World over Spring break and he waited in line for 3 hours to get his picture taken with the Elsa and Anna characters (he texted me when he was 30 minutes away from the front of the line to surprise me – we had decided earlier that the line was way too long even though we both really wanted to get a picture). So we both got our picture taken with them.

Anyway, we spent weeks trying to convince my husband who is not a Disney movie kind of guy AT ALL to see it. He refused. We kept trying. And trying. We finally convinced him to watch it when it came out on iTunes. He laughed through out the movie and thought it was great – he has told several people who haven’t seen it that they need to watch it.

While I obviously think Regina’s past with Marian is going to be an issue with OQ – whether in the original past or the do-over past (oh, this is going to get so confusing), I think the bigger issue is going to be what Tink got so mad at Regina about.

Robin now knows that Tinkerbelle told Regina that she and Robin were TL but that Regina chickened out and didn’t go get him in the tavern. Tinkerbelle got mad at Regina because she told her that not only did she ruin her own life when she chickened out but she also ruined other people’s lives. I think this is where we are going to see how lives were ruined.

It’s kind of like with Neal. Not that you ever WANT someone to die but even Neal told Emma after she found him in Manhattan that Rumple told him that everything happens for a reason. So we have Emma and Killy who are TL, but Emma couldn’t move on until Neal was dead – she said it and it happened. Now we have Regina and Robin. They are TL and were supposed to be together but Regina chickened out so Robin ended up married to Marian. That wasn’t “right” so fate corrected itself by either having Marian die or having Robin “think” she was dead so he could move on and be available for his TL. We don’t actually know for sure if Marian really did die because we never saw the final outcome her story in the EF. What if she had a TL out there that she met in some other kind of rescue before she was executed, but now that has been ruined because Emma brought her back to SB?? That could have been how fate corrected itself for Marian in the EF but now it will never happen.

If that is the case, what now?? Everything is all messed up. You have Robin and Marian back together who were never supposed to be together in the first place and weren’t supposed to get back together, you have Marian away from whoever her TL is, you have Regina and Robin KNOWING they are TL but can’t be together, you have everyone thinking Regina executed Marian in an original past but they really don’t know that for sure AND it NEVER happened in the re-do past. It’s a big mess!!

You know what I’ve decided? You know how people always say that men don’t understand women??? I think a big problem with the people who hate Killian and hate CS is that they don’t understand men. @KJ feel free to tell me if I am way off base here . . .

I’ve been married for almost 10 years and most of my friends are married – we all talk about our marriages, I’ve been in a gazillion Bible studies that deal with marriage, before I was married I dated several guys seriously and had one very bad marriage. And I have seen some extremely consistent things about men.

I think many people forget that this show is created by two MEN and, as such, we are often going to be presented things from a male point of view. Now A and E have done a great job of creating FEMALE characters on the show who aren’t the traditional females that you think of when you think of fairy tale princesses etc. They are strong and independent and kick-butt, they can hold their own in a sword fight, they are the ones who end up saving the day, etc. But most men (I say most not to stereotype, but honestly this applies to EVERY man I know and every man I have heard about from friends, etc) have a very specific notion of what it means to be a man who is on a epic quest for adventure. Hence, the reason we have the traditional prince characters in fairy tales and the more modern characters such as those in Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and every men’s favorite movie “Braveheart.” It’s just a guy thing. And A and E are guys. So even though they have “modernized” the women on OUaT, A and E also want to have strong male characters on the show as well.

A classic element of a strong male character to men is the ability to “rescue” a woman BUT this does NOT mean that the woman is WEAK and has to be rescued because she is so weak she can’t take care of herself. This is where I think people are completely misunderstanding things. The “rescuing” a woman thing means that they have a need to rescue or provide the woman from or with something that only HE can provide her with. Killian is the PERFECT example of this. He has no doubt that Emma can take of herself, he knows that she doesn’t “need” him – she could survive just fine without him. He understands that she is actually more powerful than he is because of her magic, he is well aware that she is royalty and holds a higher station in life than he does. But for Killian what he wants to rescue Emma from is her own self-doubt and inability to trust. That becomes his quest – and having a quest is very important to a man. In fact it’s so important that many men fall into a deep depression when they retire from working because they feel as if they no longer serve any important purpose in their life. So Killian’s quest is to “save” Emma but the haters have completely misunderstood what that means because they don’t understand what that looks like from a man’s perspective.

It’s also the reason people are calling Killian a misogynistic pig (I swear if I read that one more time I’m going to puke) for appreciating what Emma looks like and for saying they are destroying Emma’s character by having her like it. Men are visual by nature – that is how they are stimulated, it’s a simple fact. Women aren’t stupid, they know this – I’ve never heard of a women deciding to pull sweats out of the dirty laundry hamper, remove her makeup, and not shower for two days before going on a first date. Women purposely put more attention into what they look like when they go out with a man because they want to look appealing for him. Anyone can try to deny this and I won’t believe them. A and E are men. Men like boobs. There are a LOT of boobs on this show. Trust me – my husband points them out to me every week. But I haven’t heard anyone complain about boobs until Emma yanked hers up to distract past Hook. That doesn’t make Hook or A and E misogynistic pigs. It makes them men and it makes Emma smart. You know what I do when my husband and I get to go out for a nice, special occasion date alone? I get dressed up and wear something revealing that shows off the girls. Why? Because my hubby likes my boobs. That’s right. He’s a man – he likes ’em, I’m a women – I’ve got ’em, funny how it works out that way isn’t it??? So it really shouldn’t be all that surprising that as CS relationship has progressed we see Killy enjoying Emma’s body in a more appropriate fashion than Captain Innuendo and Emma being receptive to it – and actually enjoying it. Because remember two men create this show. And something else men LOVE is knowing that the woman they love wants to share her body with him.

Hence the scene where present Killy gets jealous that Emma is prepping the girls for past Hook. Coming from a man’s perspective this whole scene is interesting for a number of reasons. First Killy is being jealous and protective of Emma – especially her body and her sexuality. At this point, even though it hasn’t been established, he views her as “his” – not in the “I own her” way that the haters have insisted upon, but in a “it’s my job to protect this part of her” way. Men are extremely protective of their wife’s or girlfriend’s body, just watch what happens in a bar sometime if a guy even THINKS some other guy is hitting on his wife or girlfriend. So A and E have some serious fun with this scene. Emma knows exactly how to distract past Hook cause she knows exactly what she and current Killy would like, and Killy can’t do anything about it because it’s HIM she’s trying to distract. . . until he has to WATCH it. This is every man’s worst nightmare, but in Killy’s case it’s even worse for two reasons. One – HE hasn’t gotten there yet. And two – he honestly feels that he needs to physically protect Emma from his past self. This is really important because they have already established over and over that he knows Emma can take care of herself so he isn’t trying to say she can’t hold her own. But, as a man, he is so protective of this aspect of Emma that he doesn’t even trust his past self with her – even though they made it perfectly clear that past Hook was completely love struck and wasn’t going to hurt her (and Emma seemed to be having fun). He wasn’t just jealous, he had become such a different person that he viewed past Hook as another man pawing Emma and that past version of himself was not good enough for her. So just like what would happen at a bar – Killy knocks him on his butt.

I’ve also seen people complaining about Killy saying that one day he was going to stop chasing after this woman before he jumped into the portal after Emma. They say it’s a misogynistic comment because he is treating Emma like a wild animal who needs to be chased. First, please excuse me while I find a bucket to puke in. Second, this is just DUMB. And you don’t have to be a man to understand this one – just standing upright and breathing – but I’ll point it out anyway. Killy’s a guy. He is on his quest to save Emma from her self-doubt. She hasn’t gotten there yet – she hasn’t figured out that SB and all the people that love her are her home. He is on his quest to get her to trust again. Part of her trust issue is that people leave her and/or don’t go after her when they can. She was just sucked into a portal. Killian CAN go in after her – so he HAS to because it’s part of his quest to save her from her lack of trust. THIS is his “chase.” His quest is his chase. He has to keep doing all these crazy things and going to all these dangerous and unknown places but it is all part of his quest/chase to save Emma. It was a tongue in cheek comment – basically “Here we go again!! The things I’m willing to do for this woman!!”

This message was approved by my husband . . . who is a man.

And NOT a misogynistic pig even though he likes my boobs.

OMG I just read this. Hits the nail right on the head. Now, someone please write some good fan fic about that whole scenario.

    http://buttercupsandhooks.tumblr.com/post/85655575940/wish-fulfillment

Yes, this is simply perfect. And it just screams smutty fanfic!! Sorry, I had to.

I loved the whole past Hook part of the show. Honestly, it may have been the best part of the show because you could tell Colin and JMo were having so darn much fun with it. Oddly, although I know they were already good friends before it seems like they must have bonded quite a bit working together so much filming the finale and it really came through in the way they acted together I think – especially in the past Hook scenes, they played off each other perfectly.

I don’t know – there were so many great parts of the finale and they were both so good at everything they did. I don’t understand how anyone could not ship them after the Captain Swan movie.

I don’t believe this has been posted yet…a hilarious ‘recap’ of the finale…posting the link ’cause there’s language…

Ha, Ha!! “Welcome to our creepy, dark Gothic wedding!!”

I’ve been too busy spreading CS sunshine and joy throughout the realms to comment on the “splashy wedding.” I’m a Rumbelle fan but . . . what the heck?? Was that not the most depressing wedding on the history of television??? I am very confused. Could Rumple not magic up some decorations and flowers? And the dress??? EVERYTHING Belle wore in the EF and most of what she has worn in SB was dressier than what she wore to her own wedding!! Rumple dressed Emma and Killy to the nines for a ball but couldn’t wip up something nice for his BRIDE??? And they name the flippin’ baby after Rumple’s son but NO ONE attends his wedding??? No one goes to Belle’s wedding??? How is it possible that Rumbelle got married like . . . that???

Thank goodness I was screaming and jumping up and down from happiness and doing a CS victory dance during the entire ceremony so I really didn’t care much about the wedding anyway . . .

So I am still deliriously happy over the finale. I can’t stop thinking about it and I’ve watched it like 5 times (I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the kiss, I can’t count that high!). I was just . . . so much better than I could ever have hoped for with a bonus Elsa cherry on top!!! I’m so excited to see what happens next season – hopefully a nice balance of happiness and adventure for our ship.

After watching the finale the last time it just struck me again how much CS truly are TIMELESS. They met in present day EF and then continued their relationship in present day SB – but their relationship has always been greatly affected by both of their pasts. But even BEFORE they met, at the exact moment Emma was being and getting ready to be sent through the wardrobe to be protected from the curse, Killian was being surrounded by Cora’s protection spell so he wouldn’t be affected by the curse. And he was told that in 28 years there would be a Savior who come along and break the curse – he acts shocked and angry that he will have to wait 28 years but Cora assures him it won’t be a big deal because he will be frozen in time. He was frozen in time FOR EMMA – they were destined for each other from the exact moment she was bring brought into the world and he was being protected from the curse FOR HER.

I believe when they met in present day EF if it wasn’t love at first sight it was definitely an immediate recognition of souls who were meant to be together and THAT’S what scared Emma away. But Killian understood and accepted it but just it behind his innuendos until he knew how to come to terms with who he needed to be to be the Savior’s soul mate.

But the best part for me was seeing the two of them together in past EF. Seeing Emma become comfortable in who she would have been if she would have been raised in the EF at the ball, you see that she and Killian are STILL soul mates in that situation as well. And the interesting thing about that is that it was KILLIAN, who was a PIRATE but is now playing the role of a prince, who helped her feel comfortable in her own, true environment being who she REALLY is – a princess. And Emma is completely head over heels for Killian as the “Prince” at the ball. And Killian is the one who knows how to waltz and teaches her to dance at her first ball – something that could have realistically happened had they both been royalty in the EF.

Then you have the flip side. When they need to have Snow get the ring they have to visit Killian’s environment in the EF. And this time it is Emma who has to help Killian, the “pirate” – who really isn’t a pirate anymore complete the task. So now you have Princess Emma (Leia) entering Killian’s world and becoming a pirate – and being a bit too good at it for Killian’s liking. In fact, Killian is always telling Emma she would make a quite the pirate, and suddenly she DOES. And the second she meets the original Captain Hook – he immediately feels the exact same connection to Emma that he did when they really met for the first time even though this time she is a “pirate.” Killian warns Emma to be careful because she doesn’t know Captain Hook but Emma knows EXACTLY how to handle him and he is not dangerous at all to her, in fact he acts like a drunk lovesick puppy, carrying her over the threshold of the “Rolly Loger” trying to impress her with his ship. He is still Captain Innuendo but he isn’t dangerous. What Killian doesn’t like is that Emma is kissing old school Captain Hook but hasn’t kissed him since Neverland and he needs to give one final punch to Hook to symbolically prove he is no longer that person anymore.

Then they get back to present day SB and they are both completely changed with each other after spending time together in past EF. There is just no way either one of them could ever deny they are meant for each other after every thing they have seen and done together.

So my point is that it wouldn’t have mattered whether they met in past EF, present EF, present SB, sometime in the future – whether one or the other (or both were royalty, pirates, or peasants) they are soul mates and because of that they would ALWAYS be comfortable in each other’s world, simply because they belong together. So the haters who have been saying all along that CS would never work because they each want completely different things were proven totally wrong in the finale. What Emma and Killian each want is a HOME. And as we saw – HOME could be in a palace, on a pirate ship, in the forest, or in SB – as long as they are together they adapt to whatever environment they are in because they are a team and they know how to bring out the best in each other.

So I did my rewatch. I’m sure I will post several times because I have so many thoughts and feels I don’t even know where to begin.

First, I honestly wasn’t bothered by the baby being named Neal – in some ways it was actually sweet. I wasn’t gushing emotional tears over tears over it, but it is common to name babies after family members so it wouldn’t be unheard of for the kid to be named Neal. Yes, he did something in the past that contributed to Emma’s trust issues but I think they really tried to show this season that Emma had forgiven Neal and moved him, and accepted him as a friend and family member since he was Henry’s father. I also think it is interesting since Rumple created the curse to find Bae, Emma was the savior who was the product of True Love who was planned to break the curse so he could leave SB to get Bae, and then after Bae died the very same couple that were brought together to produce the savior produced another child that they named to HONOR Rumple’s son, Bae. It seems like everything came full circle. I thought it was a sweet gesture to Rumple who had lost his child that they honored Bae.

After seeing the PERFECT way they did the kiss at the end of the movie, I feel like I have been putting too much emphasis on needing to see a TLK break a curse. One of the best kisses on the show was when Snow and Charming found each other after the curse was broken and that was NOT a TLK that broke a curse. The CS kiss last night was amazing and I honestly was glad it wasn’t done as a TLK. I LOVED that it was a completely MUTUAL kiss that wasn’t driven by one person needing to save the other. Killy has known FOREVER that he loves Emma and she is finally in a place where she can allow herself (and him) to know that she loves him too – that what’s made the kiss perfect. They BOTH wanted to kiss each other and KEEP kissing each other.

And again, I LOVED that it was Emma realizing that she missed her parents that made her get her magic back – but even more I loved the look of pride on Killy’s face when he pointed out to her that she did it. Killy has ALWAYS been Emma’s biggest cheerleader – he is perfectly comfortable with her being the savior and having magic, he sees his job as encouraging her, motivating her when she needs it, and picking her up when she needs a shoulder to cry on. I do think he had FUN getting to kind of “guide” her through “his” world when they got to the EF but quickly pointed that she is a natural there, after calling her “your majesty” since she truly is a princess (“his princess” – swoon). He doesn’t even get bothered when he wants to be able to “rescue” her and she makes the comment about the only person who saves her is herself, because he knows it’s true. He knows his job is to support and love her – that’s what she need. Although I do think he recognized she would have been greatly affected when she learned that he sacrificed his ship for her which is why he did NOT want her to know – being a man of good form I think he was afraid her knowing that BEFORE she decided to stay would have swayed her decision and he would have viewed that as trickery which he promised he would not use to win her heart. He told her, he would win it because she wanted him. By that point, I think he knew pretty clearly that she loved him – she had been so open with him in the EF, flirted with him, quietly accepted his comparisons between the two of them and her parents, etc. But he still let her make the first move – she leaned forward to kiss him first but he leaned in to meet her for the kiss.

I am seriously dying of happiness!!!!
